You Can Call Me "Bossy"

Mary-Theresa Tringale

The You Can Call Me “Bossy” Podcast is designed to support high-achieving, high-performance women navigate the label “bossy” and all the responsibility, stigma, growth, and power that comes along with it. As a fellow high-achiever, high-performer and “bossy” lady, I have had to navigate the waters of this label since I was a little girl. The shame, pressure, misunderstanding, and fear associated with this label has dictated a lot of the choices and actions I’ve taken in my life, as well as for the women I am honored enough to coach. What I have struggled with most is the inner conflict to “be myself” and go after my dreams and goals and stand in my leadership while also being told that I was too much, too loud, too demanding, too structured. When these are the traits that are being denounced, and yet they are also the traits that others celebrate as my super powers, how do we as women reconcile that? How do we STAND IN OUR POWER AND LEADERSHIP while also making everyone else happy and comfortable? That’s what the YOU CAN CALL ME “BOSSY” podcast will aim to answer, and so much more!

EP 352: Quick Hit - Stop Trying to Prove Yourself: Embrace the Learning Curve

Grab the GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY Prompt Vault HERE     Welcome to the YOU CAN CALL ME “BOSSY” PODCAST!  What happens when you're an expert at what you do, but suddenly find yourself feeling like a beginner all over again? Inspired by a powerful coaching conversation with a client transitioning into a new job after more than a decade at her previous company,I unpack the pressure to know everything, the fear of not learning fast enough, and the perfectionist tendencies that can turn an exciting career opportunity into sleepless nights and self doubt. We will get into why your expertise doesn't disappear just because you're in unfamiliar territory, how old workplace expectations can shape your confidence, and why allowing yourself to embrace the learning curve is an essential part of personal and professional growth. Whether you're starting a new job, stepping into a leadership role, or navigating a major life transition, this episode is your reminder that you can be incredibly good at what you do and still have things to learn. You don't have to know everything to deserve your success, your compensation, or your seat at the table. Key Takeaways: Starting something new doesn't erase your years of experience or the skills you've worked hard to develop. Embracing the learning process while honoring your expertise allows you to grow without questioning your worth. Perfectionism and People Pleasing Can Lead to Unnecessary Burnout Being a great leader or professional doesn't mean mastering every responsibility. Recognizing your strengths, trusting others to contribute their expertise, and understanding that learning takes time can help you build confidence and thrive in a new environment. In this episode of You Can Call Me Bossy, I am back with a personal and powerful conversation about owning your accomplishments, celebrating your wins, and giving yourself credit for the incredible things you've done.
