The Pour with Adam Montiel

Adam Montiel

In 2010, Radio Host Adam Montiel combined his longtime love for broadcasting with his, then, new love for wine. He created, produced and co-hosted, ‘The Cork Dorks’. The show was hosted with Adam and his good friend Jeremy. It was the first of its kind. It began focusing on central coast wineries but as the show grew, so did their ability to travel and meet other winemakers they found everywhere from Napa to Bordeaux that adopted that same Central Coast quality of people willing to share their wines, and their stories. As the area grew, soon the show covered everything from spirits, craft beer, cider, cuisine, hospitality, and more. Fast forward to today, the spirit and enthusiasm cultivated with that award winning show, is reborn with 'The Pour', this time independently, and unfettered by corporate authority leaving it even more free to share the journey of making wine more approachable and fun for everyone. Here, We Taste It. We Spill It. We Leave it All On the Table. This is ‘The Pour’ with Adam Montiel.

Paso Robles Distillery Trail Weekend is Here 8/7-9 | Tin City Distillery & Central Coast Distillery | The Pour

Paso Robles may be famous for wine, but the region’s distilling scene is pouring just as much personality, creativity, and craft into the glass. On this episode of The Pour with Adam Montiel, Patrick Brooks, co-owner and distiller at Tin City Distillery, and Eric Olson, owner and distiller at Central Coast Distillery, join Adam ahead of Paso Robles Distillery Trail Weekend, happening August 7 through 9, 2026. The conversation starts with cracked Long Drinks and three accidentally coordinated black T-shirts, then moves quickly into bourbon, agave, gin, brandy, cocktails, food, hospitality, and the realities of building small-batch spirits in a world increasingly crowded by major brands. Patrick previews the Distillery Trail Weekend experience at Tin City Distillery, with live music, local food, special summer cocktails, and the kind of playful experimentation that has made the tasting room a destination. He also breaks down The Garden, a bright gin cocktail made with fresh lime and a cilantro, ginger, and serrano syrup, while Eric counters with Bourbon and Peaches, a glass of ripe fruit, maple, bitters, and bourbon that tastes like summer decided to stay out late. At Central Coast Distillery, Eric is taking guests deeper into the process with bourbon and agave classes that explore mash bills, barrels, tasting glassware, roasting, fermentation, and the choices that determine what eventually lands in the glass. His distillery, founded with Anna Olson, is also home to the Forager spirits portfolio, produced in ultra-small batches with a strong culinary point of view. Then the bottles open. Eric tastes Patrick’s Chocolate Love and offers the kind of praise no marketing department could manufacture: he is genuinely irritated that he did not make it himself. What follows becomes the heart of the episode. These distillers may have different brands, different styles, and different approaches, but they understand that the larger Paso Robles spirits story only gets stronger when the makers support one another. Adam, Patrick, and Eric also get into why California distilling benefits from fewer inherited rules, why tradition can be respected without becoming a creative cage, why agave may have a real agricultural future on the Central Coast, and why hospitality is ultimately what turns a tasting into an experience people want to repeat. Distillery Trail Weekend is the invitation to pick your stops, meet the makers, taste something new, enjoy food and music, and experience the personality of each participating distillery. No ticket is required. The optional 2026 Copper Card adds one complimentary tasting at each participating distillery, access to select private tours, demonstrations, and events during the weekend, plus discounts at select locations. The card does not expire, so there is no need to race through the entire trail in one weekend. The bottles are open. The Long Drinks are cracked. Let’s pour. Vine Voyage: Paso Meets the Rhône, Bordeaux, and Beyond with Cork & Cruise!

On this episode of The Pour, Adam welcomes back a true architect of adventure, Mary Ann Erdos, founder of Cork & Cruise. If you think you’ve been on a wine trip before, think again. Mary Ann has created something completely different: immersive, intimate journeys where you don’t just taste the wine, you taste the place, the story, and the people behind the pour. From their first Rhône adventure (where Adam joined as a guest), to this summer’s highly anticipated Bordeaux cruise, and already booking fast for Portugal 2026 (with Turtle Rock, Hawks Hill, & Villa Creek), Mary Ann shares how these trips come together, why winemakers keep signing up for more, and what makes guests feel like they’re part of something once in a lifetime. We dive deep into what sets these experiences apart from truffle hunting in France to seven-course pairing dinners at sea and how Mary Ann obsesses over every detail, from the wine to the swag. Plus: her top travel tips, her jet lag hacks, and the moment she knew this wild idea could actually work. Don't just travel. Travel well. Travel with wine.
