The Misunderstood Truths About Gentle Parenting

Send us Fan Mail What if everything you’ve heard about “gentle parenting” is actually wrong—and it’s shaping how you respond to your child in ways you don’t even realize? You might be thinking gentle parenting means being permissive, having no rules, or letting kids “get away with everything”—and if that’s the case, you could be feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and maybe even questioning if you’re doing it all wrong. Because when big emotions hit, boundaries get tested, and your patience runs thin, it can feel impossible to stay calm—and that’s where the real misunderstanding lies. Gentle parenting isn’t about controlling your child’s behavior or eliminating conflict… it’s about understanding it, regulating yourself first, and leading with connection and boundaries so your child can actually learn how to navigate their world. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU’LL DISCOVER: The biggest misconception about gentle parenting—and why it’s often confused with permissive parentingHow to set firm, consistent boundaries without yelling or repeating yourselfWhy your child’s behavior is communication (and how to respond instead of react)The power of repair, natural consequences, and emotional regulation in raising resilient, emotionally intelligent kidsGentle parenting isn’t about being soft—it’s about being intentional, self-aware, and raising humans who feel seen, respected, and capable. Stop Chasing Calm: How to Work With Your Nervous System Instead of Against It.

Send us Fan Mail Are you trying so hard to stay calm in motherhood that you feel like you’re failing every time you lose your cool? 🤯 Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen nervous system regulation talked about everywhere. And while a lot of that information can be helpful, it can also make moms feel like something is wrong with them whenever they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or on edge. I used to think the goal was to stay regulated all the time. So whenever I felt dysregulated, I immediately went into guilt and shame—like I was doing something wrong as a mom. But the truth is, motherhood itself can be incredibly dysregulating. The real shift for me was realizing that the goal isn’t to avoid dysregulation altogether… it’s learning how to move through it and return to calm more easily. 🌿 In this episode, I’m sharing the perspective shift that helped me stop feeling broken and start working with my nervous system instead of constantly fighting against it. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU’LL DISCOVER: Why moving in and out of dysregulation is completely normal in motherhoodHow to recognize the physical signs that my nervous system is becoming overwhelmedSimple tools I use to regulate quickly in real-life mom momentsHow shifting my mindset around regulation helped me release guilt and show up calmer for my kidsMotherhood isn’t about being calm all the time—but when we learn how to support our nervous system, we create more calm for ourselves and our families. 💛 Free Sleep Resource: 3 Steps to Stress-Free Sleep Infant & Toddler Guide Download Here New Sleep Support! How a Birth Center Tour changed how I felt about Birth!

Send us Fan Mail What if the place you choose to give birth could shape not just your delivery—but the mother you become? So many women move through pregnancy making decisions based on what they’re told is “normal,” what sounds safest to other people, or what feels most acceptable to their circle. We’re taught to prepare for the worst. To expect birth to be traumatic. To believe we don’t really have control anyway. And when we operate from that fear-based space, we often end up feeling disconnected, unsupported, or unsure of ourselves as we step into motherhood. But here’s what I believe at my core: birth is transformational. And the decisions you make during pregnancy—when they’re self-aligned and rooted in informed consent—can profoundly shape how you enter motherhood. In this episode, I’m sharing how one unexpected visit back to the birth center where I delivered my second son completely shifted what I had planned to record—and reminded me why empowered decision-making during pregnancy is one of the pillars of the work I do. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU’LL DISCOVER: Why going within and making self-aligned (not fear-based) decisions during pregnancy changes everythingHow your birth environment can impact your confidence as you transition into motherhoodWhat informed consent really means—and why you are the true assessor of riskHow to navigate fears during pregnancy without letting them drive your choicesIf you’ve been questioning your birth plan, wondering whether you’re “crazy” for wanting something different, or feeling the pull to explore options outside the norm—let this be your sign. I believe in you. And I believe you deserve a beautiful, empowered birth experience. Free Sleep Resource: 3 Steps to Stress-Free Sleep Infant & Toddler Guide Download Here New Sleep Support! Cry-it-Out is NOT Sleep Training. What are Behavioral Sleep Interventions?

Send us Fan Mail Is “cry-it-out” really sleep training… or have we been sold the wrong story about baby sleep? If you’ve ever hesitated to get support because you don’t want to “just leave your baby to cry,” you’re not alone. There’s a huge stigma around sleep training — and for so many moms, it creates guilt, confusion, and suffering in silence. Here’s the truth: Cry-it-out is not the only option. And it’s not even what true, supportive sleep coaching looks like. When we reduce sleep training to “put your baby in the crib and walk away,” we ignore the layers that actually make sleep stick. We skip the foundation. We skip the nuance. We skip the baby in front of us. And when we skip the foundation? We end up in the cycle so many families know too well: It works… until it doesn’t. Sleep improves… then regresses. You try again… and feel even more defeated. Because sleep isn’t a timer. It’s not 5-10-15 minute check-ins. It’s not white-knuckling your way through crying. Sleep is a puzzle. Nutrition. Schedule. Sleep pressure. Environment. Development. Temperament. Maternal mental health. Parental perspective. All of it matters. When we look at the full puzzle and build a solid sleep foundation first, behavioral sleep interventions (BSI) become supportive, aligned, and sustainable. And that changes everything. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU’LL DISCOVER: Why cry-it-out (extinction) is not the same as true sleep trainingWhat Behavioral Sleep Interventions (BSI) actually are — and why foundation mattersThe critical “puzzle pieces” most parents are missingHow alignment and education create long-term, sustainable sleep successSleep is complex — but it doesn’t have to feel chaotic. You don’t have to suffer through exhaustion thinking it’s just a phase. You don’t have to accept guilt as part of motherhood. And you definitely don’t have to choose between support and connection. When your baby sleeps well, you sleep well. And that’s a powerful place to mother from. Free Sleep Resource: 3 Steps to Stress-Free Sleep Infant & Toddler Guide Download Here New Sleep Support!
