When Your Light Feels Small | Episode 46

Sometimes the simplest things make a bigger difference than we realize. After returning to Mozambique, electricity problems left our home with one burned-out light bulb after another. With finances tight and my vision impairment, the growing darkness began affecting more than my ability to see—it affected my spirit. When I finally replaced the light bulbs, everything changed. I could see again. My spirits lifted. And God reminded me of the incredible difference light makes in darkness. In this episode of Go When God Calls, I share this simple moment from missionary life and what God reminded me about the light we carry into the lives of others. You may feel like your light is small, but somebody may be sitting in the darkness who needs your light. Scripture Matthew 5:14–16 “You are the light of the world... In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” This Week’s Challenge Ask God: Who needs my light? Whose day can I brighten? Who can I encourage? Then look for one simple opportunity to let the light of Jesus shine through you. What Is God Asking You to Do?

What happens when God asks you to do something that feels uncomfortable—or even impossible? In this episode, I share some of my experiences from more than 25 years of missionary life in Mozambique. We talk about faith in action, trusting God, and taking the next step when He calls. We all have a part in God’s mission. Some are called to go, some are called to send, and all of us are called to pray and encourage one another. Every role matters. You do not have to know everything or do everything perfectly. You only need to take the next step God is asking you to take. In This Episode What it means to put faith into action Why goers, senders, and prayer partners all matter How partnership can make a lasting, generational impact Trusting God when you do not feel qualified Taking the next step without seeing the entire journey Scriptures Mentioned Hebrews 11:1 James 2:17 Matthew 28:19 Connect With Me Email: angie@angiewheelersibia.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/angiewheelersibia Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/angiewheelersibia TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@angiemoz YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@AngieSibia Explore the Work Beacon of Hope Africa: https://www.beaconofhope-africa.org Apply to join the Go Missionary Network Community: https://www.gomissionarynetwork.org/gmn-membership African Life Essentials and Field Notes: https://africanlifeessentials.com More Resources Kingdom Builders Academy: https://increaseministries.com/joinkba-286597?am_id=angiewheeler7594 This is an affiliate link. A Time to Pause and Be Present

In this episode, I share what God taught me during a recent furlough home from Mozambique. I went home expecting to keep podcasting, stay active on social media, continue leading Beacon of Hope Africa from afar, and spend time with family. Instead, God used that season to teach me about rest, surrender, and the importance of being present in the moments He gives us. I talk about the reality of missionary furlough, the sacrifices families make, the responsibility of carrying ministry from another country, and how sometimes God asks us to pause so we can focus on what matters most. Sometimes pausing does not mean stopping. Sometimes it means trusting God with what we cannot do and being faithful in the season He has placed before us. Scripture Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." From Episode 43 Roots to Rivers: A Mother to Many

In this episode of Go When God Calls, I share the prophetic word God spoke over my life at the very beginning of my missionary journey — a word that didn’t make sense then, but has unfolded over twenty-five years in ways I could have never imagined. From my first trip to Mozambique in 1999, to the early days of Beacon of Hope Africa, to the young men who are now husbands, fathers, business owners, worship leaders, and future leaders — this is a story of deep roots, rivers of impact, and God’s incredible faithfulness. This episode is personal, honest, and a milestone celebration of what God can do when we simply say yes. ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 📖 SCRIPTURE HIGHLIGHTS Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.” Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Jeremiah 17:7–8 “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord… They will be like a tree planted by the water… and never fail to bear fruit.” ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 💬 QUOTE “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” — Hudson Taylor ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 🎧 TAKEAWAY Your yes to God matters more than your confidence, your plans, or your understanding. Trust Is a Choice

Have you ever tried to trust God but found yourself still holding on “just in case”? In this episode of Go When God Calls, I share a message that’s close to my heart — learning to lean all the way in when life feels uncertain. Even after 25 years serving as a missionary in Mozambique, I’m still discovering new layers of what it means to trust God completely. Through stories from Beacon of Hope Africa, a conversation I had with my mom, and lessons I’ve been teaching our teenage boys, I’m reminded that trust isn’t about the how — it’s about the Who. ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 📖 SCRIPTURE HIGHLIGHTS Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Jeremiah 17:7–8 “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water…” Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Matthew 14:29–31 (Peter walks on water but begins to sink when he looks at the waves.) ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 💬 QUOTE “Trust isn’t about the how — it’s about the Who.” ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 🎧 TAKEAWAY Even when I can’t see how things will work out, I know Jesus is working — even while I sleep. When I speak His Word out loud, it changes the atmosphere around me and the peace inside me. Today, I’m choosing to sit all the way down in trust — not halfway, not holding myself up “just in case,” but resting completely in Him. ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 🌍 CONNECT WITH ME 📧 Email: 🧡 angie@angiewheelersibia.com 📸 Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/angiewheelersibia 📘 Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/angiewheelersibia ▶️ YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@AngieSibia 🎵 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@angiemoz 🎥 Watch the inspiration behind this episode: “Glance at Your Problems — Keep Your Eyes on Jesus” by @authentically_amberk2.0 🔗 https://www.tiktok.com/@authentically_amberk2.0/video/7554019777723911479 ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── 🤝 MINISTRY & PARTNERSHIPS 🙏 Beacon of Hope Africa: https://www.beaconofhope-africa.org 🌐 Go Missionary Network (GMN): https://www.gomissionarynetwork.org/gmn-membership 🚀 Kingdom Business Accelerator (KBA – Affiliate Link): https://increaseministries.com/joinkba-286597?am_id=angiewheeler7594 ────────────── ✨ ✨ ✨ ────────────── ✍️ By Angie Wheeler Sibia | Missionary in Mozambique, Teacher, and Host of Go When God Calls

You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out (Part 2)

Have you ever felt like you’re walking in the dark, unsure of what comes next? Last week on Go When God Calls we talked about the foundation of our faith — God’s love, salvation through Jesus, and becoming a new creation in Him. In this episode, I’m continuing that conversation with four powerful verses that show us how to walk out our faith step by step. Whether you’re a brand new Christian or you’ve been following Jesus for years, these promises will strengthen and encourage you. 📖 Scripture Highlights Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Philippians 4:13 (KJV) “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 💬 Quote: “Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One who is leading.” — Oswald Chambers 🎧 Takeaway: You don’t have to have it all figured out to follow Jesus. His Word lights your next step, His Spirit fills you with courage, and His strength carries you through. 🌍 Connect with Me Email: https://www.instagram.com/angiewheelersibia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AngieWheelerSibia YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@AngieSibia TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@angiemoz 🙏 Beacon of Hope Africa (BOHA): https://www.beaconofhope-africa.org 🤝 Go Missionary Network (GMN): https://www.gomissionarynetwork.org/gmn-membership 🚀 Kingdom Business Accelerator (KBA – Affiliate Link): https://increaseministries.com/joinkba-286597?am_id=angiewheeler7594 ✍️ By Angie Wheeler Sibia | Missionary in Mozambique, Teacher, and Host of Go When God Calls

You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out to Follow Jesus (Part 1)

Have you ever felt unsure of what to do after saying yes to Jesus? Maybe you’ve prayed, felt His touch on your heart, or started going back to church — but then wondered, what comes next? In this episode of Go When God Calls, I share encouragement for both new believers and seasoned Christians. From my own walk with God, I talk about how peace can be an umpire in our lives, how salvation is a free gift, and how God’s promises give us a foundation to stand on every day. Takeaway: You don’t have to have it all figured out.
