S3 Ep16: The Internet - It was better when it sucked

Join us on Patreon for the full version of this episode and more member-only benefits! Well... this episode went off the rails. We were supposed to be talking about the early days of the internet—the glorious age of dial-up, GeoCities, chat rooms, Napster, and waiting three f***ing minutes for a JPEG to download. And we do talk about that. For a little while. Then things take a turn. Because somewhere between “Remember when the internet was fun?” and “Hey, look at this ancient website,” we started asking the important questions: When did the internet become the worst place on Earth? Why did we give social media the keys to civilization? And is the modern internet actually making everybody dumber? Spoiler alert: we have theories. We're talking algorithms, outrage, misinformation, doom-scrolling, people arguing with complete strangers, and the possibility that humanity collectively invented the greatest communication technology in history... ...and immediately used it to yell at each other about politics, movies, and whether a hot dog is a sandwich. Meanwhile, we're enjoying a pour of High West Double Rye and smoking the Principle Accomplice, because if we're going to diagnose the collapse of civilization, we're damn sure going to do it with good whiskey and a cigar. So grab a drink, light one up, and join us as we travel from “You've Got Mail” to “What the hell happened to everybody?” The early internet was supposed to connect us. Instead, it gave everyone a microphone. Save us.

S3 Ep12: FIFA (World Cup) Mania!

Join us on Patreon for FULL episodes, extra content and more! This week, we're not breaking down goals, red cards, or who should've started at striker. Nope—we're talking about the real entertainment surrounding the World Cup: millions of visitors discovering America for the very first time... and documenting every confusing, hilarious, and occasionally terrifying moment on social media. Apparently our pickup trucks are too big, our soft drinks are too large, our grocery stores are amusement parks, and our gas stations have enough snacks to survive the apocalypse. Somewhere, a tourist walked into a Buc-ee's expecting to buy a bottle of water and left three hours later with brisket, a beaver plushie, and a newfound respect for Texas. While the internet debates whether ranch dressing belongs on everything—and whether Americans actually drive six hours "just because"—we'll be enjoying IronRoot Republic's Cigar Blend Bourbon, a whiskey that's as unapologetically American as putting a flag on literally anything. We'll also be lighting up the Luciano Legacy cigar, because watching the world's reaction to America is best enjoyed with good smoke and a great pour. So grab a glass, light up your favorite cigar, and join us as we dive into the funniest, weirdest, and most wholesome social media moments from visitors discovering America. Because sometimes the best part of a global event isn't what happens in the stadium... ...it's watching someone experience free drink refills for the very first time.
