    Listen to This Every Day

There are days when you need more than another podcast episode telling you what to do. You need someone in your corner reminding you who you are. That's exactly what this episode is. This is an activation you can come back to whenever you need it. On your morning walk. In the car. During the school run. At lunchtime. Before bed. Whenever doubt starts getting louder than your own voice. Because you already have evidence that you can do hard things. You've solved problems, built things, made difficult decisions, started again, helped people, made money, saved money, and figured things out along the way. You don't need to wait for someone else to tell you that you're ready. In this episode, I'm reminding you to stop shrinking, stop waiting for permission, and start backing yourself. We're talking about taking action even when you don't feel completely confident, remembering what you're building your life and business for, and choosing who you want to be today instead of obsessing over what you need to achieve. Come back to this episode whenever you forget. In this episode, I'm talking about: Creating an activation you can listen to on repeat when you need to reconnect with your ambition and mindset. Remembering the evidence that you are capable because you've already solved problems, made difficult decisions, started again, and figured things out. Stop speaking to yourself like someone who is incapable when your own history proves otherwise. You don't need everyone to understand what you're building, agree with your decisions, or give you permission to want the life you want. Doing what matters instead of trying to prove how hardworking you are. Executing on the ideas you've already been thinking about instead of waiting for another 100 ideas or someone else to tell you you're ready. Giving yourself permission to become known, take up space, protect your time, change your mind, say no, and build a business you actually want. Learning not to let one difficult moment define your entire day, your business, or your sense of capability. Remembering who you are when nobody is clapping, and continuing to show up, follow up, sell, create, build, and lead. Getting clear on what you're actually building all of this for: your choices, your family, your freedom, and the future you want. Taking action before you feel completely confident. You don't always need to feel powerful before you act powerfully. Moving forward even when you feel uncertain, nervous, or tired. Courage doesn't require the absence of fear. Asking yourself, "Who do I want to be today?" instead of only asking what you want to achieve. Getting honest about what the version of you who is decisive, bold, present, calm, and visible has been avoiding. Remembering that what is in the way may actually be the way forward. Stop shrinking, comparing, and asking everyone else what they think. Back yourself and lead your life and your business. Remembering that there is still money to make, people to help, rooms to enter, decisions to make, and versions of yourself you haven't met yet. Come back to this episode when you need the reminder. You have nothing to prove. You have an enormous amount of potential to use. You're Probably Not Stuck

Have you ever told yourself you're stuck when, deep down, you already know exactly what you need to do? Maybe you know you need to raise your prices. Let go of an offer. Have a hard conversation. Become more visible. Invest in your business. Admit that the business you built isn't actually the business you want anymore. And yet, you keep researching. Thinking. Journaling. Asking for opinions. Reworking the plan. Waiting for more clarity. I've had so many conversations with smart, capable women who tell me they don't know what to do, only for a few questions to make it pretty obvious that they actually do know. The hard part isn't always figuring out the answer. Sometimes it's accepting what that answer requires of you. In this episode, we're talking about the difference between genuinely needing more clarity and using "I'm stuck" as a way to avoid an uncomfortable decision. We'll talk about the cost of staying in indecision, why waiting for certainty can keep you moving too late, and how making decisions can actually build your confidence and self-trust. And if there's a decision you've been circling for months, there's a good chance this episode is going to make you look at it a little differently. In this episode, I'm talking about: Why you might not actually be stuck, even when it feels like you don't know what to do The difference between needing more clarity and waiting for a decision to feel comfortable How research, journaling, podcasts, spreadsheets, polls, and even asking ChatGPT can become sophisticated forms of avoidance Why knowing what you want can feel more uncomfortable than admitting you don't know The consequences that make certain business decisions feel so difficult What raising your prices, changing your offer, becoming more visible, or wanting more money can bring up The cost of indecision and what staying in the same place for another six or twelve months could actually be costing you How repeatedly telling yourself "I don't know" can chip away at your ability to trust yourself Why self-trust comes from making considered decisions and taking responsibility for what happens next Why certainty is something you cannot expect entrepreneurship to give you The role of leadership in making good decisions without having every piece of information Why confidence usually comes after the decision and action, rather than before them How mentorship should help you become a better decision-maker rather than make you dependent on someone else's answers Why the real problem behind a tactical business question is often something much deeper The one or two decisions that could actually change the trajectory of your business over the next 12 months How women are often taught to make decisions that keep everyone else comfortable Why the goals and businesses we choose can sometimes be smaller or safer than what we actually want The questions to ask yourself when you're avoiding a decision Why being thoughtful and being avoidant are two very different things The possibility that what you're missing isn't more clarity, but the courage to act on what you already know How one uncomfortable decision could change the direction of your business Connect with me on Instagram here: www.instagram.com/_samanthahearne_/ Grab the Ambitious Mums Business Bundle for only £17: https://www.samanthahearneproducts.com/the-ambitious-mums-business-bundle

The Invisible Promotion Nobody Talks About

There's a promotion so many women receive without ever applying for it, negotiating the salary, or even realising they've accepted it. Becoming the CEO of the home and family. Suddenly, you're the one remembering the school forms, the appointments, the birthday parties, the groceries, the dog, the laundry, what everyone is eating for dinner, and approximately 27 other things that never make it onto your calendar. And if you're also running a business, you're doing all of that while trying to lead, create, make decisions, serve clients, grow your income, and actually have some mental space left over. In this episode, I'm talking about the invisible mental load that so many ambitious mothers carry, and how easily being capable can turn into being responsible for everything. I share some of the systems and changes I've put in place in my own home, why asking for help isn't a failure, and what can happen when we stop assuming that we have to hold everything together ourselves. Sometimes less is better.  And I want you to think about what might become possible in your business and your life if you had just 10% more mental capacity. In this episode, we talk about: The "invisible promotion" so many women receive when they become mothers, and what it means to become the CEO of a home and family The invisible mental load of remembering, anticipating, planning, organising, and worrying Why carrying the mental load can leave you feeling like you've already worked a full day before opening your laptop How the mental load affects your creativity, decision-making, leadership, and business The difference between the visible work people see and all the thinking happening behind the scenes How being capable can slowly turn into being responsible for everything, including becoming the default parent and emotional support system Why being a good mum doesn't mean remembering and doing everything yourself How I've started creating systems in my own household to reduce the mental load Using routines, shared calendars, weekly meetings, financial check-ins, and automation to protect mental capacity Why asking for help, sharing responsibility, and trusting others to carry their share isn't a failure or a luxury Why the systems that work for one family may look completely different for another How redistributing responsibilities can create more space as your business and financial capacity grow Why ambitious mothers may not need more potential, but less weight Three questions to help you identify what you're carrying that could be delegated or distributed What could become possible with just 10% more mental capacity, both in your business and beyond Learning to question the rules and responsibilities you never consciously agreed to carry Connect with me on Instagram here: www.instagram.com/_samanthahearne_/ Grab the Ambitious Mums Business Bundle for only £17: https://www.samanthahearneproducts.com/the-ambitious-mums-business-bundle

    The Silent Niggle in Motherhood

You're working, answering emails, on a coaching call, recording a podcast, or finally getting into a really good flow, and then a school notification pops up. Suddenly, part of your brain is somewhere else.   You're thinking about swimming lessons. Dinner. Nursery. That email you need to send. The thing you forgot to put on the calendar.   Even when you're exactly where you're supposed to be, there's this quiet feeling that maybe you should be somewhere else. That's the silent niggle. In this episode, I'm talking about the tension that can come with loving motherhood and loving your ambition at the same time. Because being present in one part of your life doesn't mean the other part stops existing. I'm sharing the mindset shift that helped me stop seeing this feeling as something I needed to fix and start seeing it as a reminder that I care deeply about more than one thing. In this episode, I'm talking about: Why the constant pull between motherhood and business can feel like you're doing something wrong Why balance doesn't mean giving everything equal attention every single day The shift from chasing "perfect balance" to being intentionally present How the mental load is about more than remembering everything. It's also about caring about so many things at once Why ambition and motherhood don't have to compete with each other Reframing your business as one of the ways you're creating security, choice, and freedom for your family What it means to stop judging your motherhood by one difficult day or your business by one interrupted afternoon The question I'm asking myself instead of "How much did I get done today?" Why the silent niggle might never completely disappear, and why that doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong Giving yourself permission to be both a deeply present mum and an ambitious woman If you've ever been halfway through a workday and suddenly felt like you should be doing something else, this conversation is for you. You don't have to choose one identity. You get to be both. No One Talks About the Lack of Buffer Time

There's a kind of exhaustion that doesn't show up on a to-do list. It's not about being disorganized or bad at time management. It's about never having a single spare minute for life to actually happen in. In this episode, I open up about growing up without a "village". My dad passed away when I was 14, my mum moved to Jamaica, my brother relocated to Scotland, and how becoming a mother without that built-in support system changed everything about how I run my business and my days. Before I had my daughter, I had freedom: flexible time, spontaneous plans, total independence. Now, as the default parent, every hour of my day is already spoken for before it even begins. This episode isn't a rant, and it isn't about comparison. It's an honest, relatable conversation about the invisible load so many mothers in business carry, and the practical shifts I've made to create breathing room, protect my energy, and stop expecting my days to run "perfectly." In this episode, I'm talking about: Why the real problem isn't a lack of time How growing up without a strong family support system shaped the way I experience motherhood and business today Why mums aren't disorganized or bad at managing time The six things I actually do to navigate this lack of buffer time Why business and motherhood move in seasons, and why trying to run your business the same way in every season sets you up to feel like you're failing The emotional labor that never makes it onto a calendar and why it still costs energy and capacity A reminder that resilience isn't running a business with zero interruptions Connect with me on Instagram here: www.instagram.com/_samanthahearne_/ Grab the Ambitious Mums Business Bundle for only £17: https://www.samanthahearneproducts.com/the-ambitious-mums-business-bundle

    Build a Life You Want

There's a version of success that looks impressive from the outside, and then there's the version that actually feels good to live. In this episode, I'm continuing our series on The Rules We're No Longer Following by asking a bigger question: what if the goal isn't simply to build a successful business, but to build a life you genuinely want to be living? Because success isn't only found in the launches, revenue, opportunities, or milestones. It's in the ordinary Tuesdays. It's how you feel when you finish work, whether you have the energy to be present with the people you love, and whether the business you've built is actually giving you more of the life you wanted in the first place. I'm talking about how my own definition of success has evolved through motherhood, why I've become much more intentional about the opportunities I say yes to, and why ambition and presence don't have to compete. Your business can create wealth, impact, freedom, and stability while still supporting the person you want to be outside of it. In this episode, I'm talking about: Why building a successful business means very little if you don't enjoy the life it creates How my definition of success has changed as I've moved through motherhood and different seasons of life Why the ordinary days matter just as much as the big milestones The question I ask myself before saying yes to clients, opportunities, events, and commitments Why not every exciting opportunity is aligned with the life you actually want How to stop borrowing your definition of success from social media, your industry, or other people Why work and family don't have to compete and how business can become the vehicle for creating more choice How motherhood has taught me to protect my time, energy, boundaries, and priorities Why sustainable stability matters more than growing the quickest or scaling the fastest How to define your own values, priorities, pace, dreams, and version of "enough" Why so many of our business goals are really life goals underneath What it looks like to build a business that supports your life rather than asking you to sacrifice it You don't have to prove your ambition through exhaustion or postpone enjoying your life until you hit the next milestone. You get to decide what success means to you, and build your business around that definition. Listen to the full episode for an invitation to rethink what you're building toward and create a version of success that feels just as good to live as it looks from the outside. You Are Allowed to Change Your Mind

There's a difference between staying committed to what matters and staying committed to a version of your life or business that no longer fits. In this episode, I'm continuing our series on the rules we're no longer following with one that keeps so many ambitious women stuck: the belief that once you've chosen a path, you have to stay on it. Even when you've changed. Even when your priorities have shifted. Even when something inside you is telling you it's time for something different. I'm sharing some of the biggest pivots I've made in my own life and business, from leaving teaching and changing the direction of my work to becoming a mom and rethinking what success needed to look like for me. Because changing your mind doesn't make everything that came before a mistake. Sometimes, that chapter did exactly what it needed to do, and now it's time to turn the page. In this episode, I'm talking about:  Why staying consistent doesn't have to mean staying the same How fear of what other people will think can keep you committed to decisions you've already outgrown The major changes I've made throughout my career, life, and business and why I chose to make them How motherhood changed my relationship with ambition, success, freedom, and the business I wanted to build Why the version of you who made yesterday's decisions doesn't have to live with them forever The sunk cost fallacy and why what you've already invested shouldn't automatically dictate what you do next How to recognise when your business needs to evolve alongside you The changes I've recently made to my own brand, offers, audience, and way of working Why changing your mind doesn't mean the chapter you're leaving behind was a mistake The questions to ask yourself when you know something no longer fits but you're afraid to choose differently You don't owe your past self a future that no longer feels like yours. You're allowed to evolve, rethink what you want, build differently, and become someone you couldn't have imagined when you made those original decisions. Listen to the full episode to hear why changing your mind might be one of the boldest and most important decisions you make. These Rules Were Never Made for You

What if the version of success you're chasing was never actually built with you in mind? Most of us inherited a blueprint for success that rewards constant availability, endless hours, and a straight line from goal to goal, never stopping, never stepping back. But life isn't linear. Energy isn't linear. Kids, hormones, sleep, and everything else that makes up a real life? Definitely not linear. So why do we keep measuring ourselves against a model that was never designed for women, let alone mothers, in the first place? In this episode, we're unpacking one of the biggest lies of modern ambition: that success requires sacrifice. That you have to earn your rest, survive your launches, and wait for some future finish line before you're finally allowed to enjoy your life. We're flipping that idea on its head, because building a business that fuels your life instead of draining it isn't just possible, it's a completely different (and better) way to lead. If you've ever felt like you're chasing a goalpost that keeps moving, this episode is your permission slip to stop, question the rulebook, and start designing a version of success that actually feels like freedom. In this episode, I'm talking about: Why so many ambitious women feel like they're "surviving" success instead of enjoying it The difference between building a business to rescue you versus building one to fuel your life Why growth without intention just becomes another form of pressure Learning to say no, and why it's earned me as much as saying yes ever has The courage it takes to build slowly, protect your time, and rest without guilt Why productivity isn't the same as peace, and peace is the real indicator of sustainability How becoming a mom made me more intentional, not less ambitious Why your identity and self-worth were never meant to be tied to your revenue The philosophy behind "Business Done Better" and what it really means to build better, not just bigger Three powerful questions to help you get honest about whether your business is fueling your life or quietly stealing from it Connect with me on Instagram here: www.instagram.com/_samanthahearne_/ Grab the Ambitious Mums Business Bundle for only £17: https://www.samanthahearneproducts.com/the-ambitious-mums-business-bundle
