T1D & Mountains: Roof of Africa

Today, I talk in more depth about my time on Kilimanjaro as a Type 1 Diabetic. Specifically, I go into the mindset that led me to the mountain for my honeymoon and the lessons that I've learned since my climb. As an endurance athlete, I discuss a unique perspective on seeing T1D as an opportunity to better oneself, as well as the crucial need for support systems in our lives, such as my wife, Katerina, is for me. My mission today is to present you with these ideas while going through the story of my adventure to the Roof of Africa. – Thanks to your support, The T1Determined Podcast is growing fast. T1D Panel: Ultramarathons with Andrew Meisler, Don Muchow & Chris Roome

Today, we host our first-ever T1D Panel, where we sit down with the top experts in a specific sport or field and dive into an intense overarching discussion. I am thrilled to be joined by three ultramarathon athletes. Andrew Meisler has completed 45 Trail Ultras, including multiple 50Ks & 50-milers, 4 100Ks, and 3 100-milers. Don Muchow, joining us once more, is a legend who has self-imposed runs across states such as Texas as well as the entire country, from ocean to ocean. Chris Roome is a younger ultra-runner who has completed multiple 50Ks and a 50-miler. At the time of recording, I was personally training for my first 50K, and since then, I have successfully completed my 50K race and am actively training for an upcoming 50-miler. Between the four of us, we span decades and generations of ultra-athlete experiences. – Thanks to your support, The T1Determined Podcast is growing fast.
