This Side of the Hill

Janet Caperna, Jason Caperna, Jared Lipscomb

Hosted by Janet and Jason Caperna (Bravo TV’s The Valley), alongside their BFF Jared Lips, This Side of the Hill is a weekly show highlighting the peaks and valleys in real life, pop culture and the throes of social media. From the chaos of first-time parenting to the mind games of online dating, there's no shying away from the good, the cringe or the weird. They unpack chronically online stories, recap their favorite TV shows, and Jared often ponders what Britney Spears is doing in this exact moment. Whether it’s an awards show, a Reddit thread, or reliving an embarrassing moment, each host shares their opinion, standing firmly on their side of the proverbial hill. Jared, the resident pop culture aficionado, ensures the Capernas know what’s going viral, what shows to watch, and which pop songs are in the top ten. Janet shares her unfiltered side as a a first time mother and public figure, while Jason rounds out the crew as the resident attorney, sole sports fan & the pragmatic one (allegedly). They bicker, bond, and invite every listener to be a friend of the pod. No matter where you stand, there’s a POV for you on This Side of the Hill. New episodes every Wednesday. Hosted on Acast. 57 - Back From NYC, Britney's Guilty Plea & Some Bravo Tea

Jared and Janet are back from New York City with a song and a monologue stuck in their heads. The besties kick things off discussing Britney Spears’ plea deal and how the pop star's accountability could be a refreshing shift from the control of the conservatorship that ruined her life for nearly two decades. This leads to a discussion about the ethics of child stars, the addiction that often accompanies fame at such a young age and how the Capernas handle having cameras around their son. The duo then dive into New York City and chat about their adoration of Times Square, figuring out the subway system and how it all seems like a movie. Janet shares some behind the scenes gossip of her appearance on Watch What Happens Live! while Jared questions if she has any regrets from the show. The pair talk all about the incredible fundraiser for the GLASA Softball League, which just so happened to be an iconic drag show, with Jared as a judge and a surprise dance number from one Mr. Jason Caperna. This reminds Jared of Meryl Streep's now viral quote regarding her costar Stanley Tucci and the "elegance to his heterosexuality". The pair agree with Meryl and note that being secure in oneself is a definitive turn on. Lastly, Janet and Jared gush over Kiana Carroll (who's making her Bravo TV debut on this week's episode of The Valley) who they deem an iconic girls' girl and "actually cool". Hosted on Acast.
