Fruit of the Spirit - Peace | Fruit of the Spirit, Week 3

Episode Summary:In this message from Philippians 4:4-7, we continue the Fruit of the Spirit series by looking at the peace Jesus gives. This is not a shallow peace that depends on life being easy, but the internal calm of the Spirit in the middle of pressure, pain, problems, and difficult people. Paul wrote about this peace from a Roman dungeon, showing us that peace is not the absence of difficulty but the presence of Jesus in the middle of it. Because Jesus is our peace, we can rejoice, relax, release our cares to the Father, and rest in what He has already given us. Main Scripture:Galatians 5:22-23Philippians 4:4-7Psalm 73:28Isaiah 41:10Isaiah 26:31 Peter 5:7Romans 5:1Big Idea:Jesus is our peace, and we live from His peace as we rejoice, relax, release, and rest. In This Episode:Peace is not the absence of difficulty; peace is the presence of Jesus in the middle of it.Worry and anxiety try to blind us to the peace that is already ours in Christ.Paul teaches us to rejoice in the Lord even when circumstances are painful, pressured, or uncertain. The Lord is near, not only beside us but living within us by His Spirit.Prayer, thanksgiving, and trust help us release our cares to God instead of carrying them alone. The peace of God guards our hearts and minds as we stop struggling and rest in Christ.Reflection Questions:Where have I been looking for peace outside of Christ? What circumstance has made it hard for me to rejoice in the Lord? What problem, pressure, or person has caused me to forget that the Lord is near? What care have I cast on God, only to reel it back in later? What can I thank God for because He is good, even before the situation changes?Where do I need to stop struggling and trust the peace of God to guard my heart and mind?Next Steps:Read Philippians 4:4-7 this week and practice the four acts of faith: rejoice, relax, release, and rest. When worry rises, stop and talk to the Father instead of carrying the pressure alone.Speak God’s promises out loud so your own heart can hear what He has said.Thank God because He is good, not only when everything feels good.Identify one care you have been reeling back in, and release it to God again without taking it back.Remind yourself daily: Jesus is my peace, and His peace already lives inside me.Closing Line:Listen in, share it with someone who needs peace, and subscribe for more messages from The Gospel Unfiltered.

Fruit of the Spirit - Joy | Fruit of the Spirit, Week 2

Episode Summary: In this message from Galatians 5, we continue the Fruit of the Spirit series by looking at joy. Pastor teaches that joy is not the same as happiness, because happiness depends on what is happening around us, while joy comes from Christ within us. Because Jesus lives in us, joy is already available, even when life brings pain, pressure, difficult people, or real problems. This episode reminds us to decide, desire, and determine to live from the joy Jesus has already placed inside us. Main Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23John 15:11James 1:2Psalm 23John 16:20-21Hebrews 12:2Philippians 4:4Zephaniah 3:17 Big Idea: Because Jesus lives in us, joy is not something we chase; it is something we choose to live from. In This Episode: Joy is one flavor of the fruit of the Spirit, produced by the Holy Spirit and carried by believers.Jesus said His joy would be in us and that our joy would be complete, lacking nothing.Happiness depends on happenings, but joy depends on Christ and is not ruled by circumstances.Pain, people, pressure, and problems can become joy blinders that hide what Jesus has already given. We can decide, desire, and determine to be joyful before the next trial arrives. The joy of the Lord gives strength, perspective, and the ability to shake it off and step up when life throws dirt our way.Reflection Questions: Have I been living as though joy is already in me, or as though I am still waiting for it to arrive?Where have I confused happiness with joy by letting circumstances determine my spiritual condition?Which joy blinder has been most active in my life: pain, people, pressure, or problems? What decision about joy do I need to make now, before the next difficult moment comes?Where do I need to shake it off and step up instead of allowing circumstances to bury me?What would change this week if I lived from the joy of the Lord as my strength?Next Steps: Read Galatians 5:22-23 and John 15:11 this week, and declare, “I have joy because Jesus lives in me.”Decide now, in prayer, that you will choose joy before the next trial arrives.Rejoice in the Lord while you are in the middle of the situation, not only after it changes.Identify the joy blinder that has been hiding your joy, and stop letting it have the final say.Bring joy into your home or workplace this week by choosing to speak and act from the joy Jesus has given you.Practice laughing in it, shaking it off, and stepping up when life throws more dirt your way.Closing Line: Listen in, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and subscribe so you do not miss the next message in the series.

Fruit of the Spirit - Love | Fruit of the Spirit, Week 1

Episode Summary:In this episode, we begin the Fruit of the Spirit series by looking at the first and most important flavor: love. Through Galatians 5:22-23 and 1 Corinthians 13, we are reminded that love is not something we manufacture in our own strength. It is the life of Jesus spiritually cultivated in us by the Holy Spirit. This message calls us to live as conduits of God's love, trusting Him to transform people while we stay faithful to love them. Main Scripture:Galatians 5:22-23 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 Big Idea:The Spirit produces the love of God in us so we can live as conduits of His love to others. In This Episode:The fruit of the Spirit is not self-manufactured; it is spiritually cultivated through connection with Jesus.Love is more than a feeling or even a choice. Because God is love, love becomes part of who we are in Christ.Spiritual gifts matter, but without love they amount to nothing. The real mark of maturity is not activity, but affection.Love marks us as people who have been changed by God, giving us a new heart and new eyes for people around us.Love never fails because it keeps its eyes on God, distributes His love freely, and trusts the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.The calling card of believers is not merely morality, but the substance of love that points people to Jesus.Reflection Questions:What am I doing that looks good on the outside but needs to be checked for love on the inside?Do I see love only as something I should do, or as part of who I am in Christ?Where has love started showing up in me in ways that show God is changing my heart?Do I read 1 Corinthians 13 as a crushing checklist or as a description of who God has made me to be?In what relationship or situation do I need to stop trying to win the argument and make love my aim?Where have I made God's love conditional because I do not fully trust the Holy Spirit to do His work?Next Steps:Read 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 this week as a description of the love God is producing in you.Ask God to reveal where your actions are not being motivated by love.Choose one person you have struggled to love and ask God to help you distribute His love to them.Stop keeping a record of wrongs in one relationship, and practice releasing what love does not hold onto.Begin each day by declaring, "I am loved," before trying to love others.Trust the Holy Spirit to transform people while you stay faithful to love them.Closing Line:Listen today, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and subscribe so you do not miss the next message in the series.

The Gospel of Overcoming | The Gospel Of, Week 4

Episode Summary: In this episode, Pastor Todd Holtz closes the series The Gospel Of with a message on the gospel of overcoming. From John 5:2–9 and 2 Corinthians 2:14, he reminds us that Jesus has already won the victory, but overcoming also means learning to get up, keep believing, and walk with Him. This message does not deny the reality of pain, hurt, or disappointment. Instead, it points us to the grace of God that meets us in those places and leads us forward in triumph. Main Scripture: John 5:2–92 Corinthians 2:141 Corinthians 15:33Luke 24 Big Idea: The gospel of overcoming means Jesus has already won, and we overcome as we get up, keep believing, and walk with Him. In This Episode: Why our testimony is not only what we say, but how we walk through what we have been through. How Jesus’ question to the man at the pool of Bethesda still speaks to places where we feel stuck: “Do you want to be healed?”Why what happened to you does not determine where God wants to bring you.How God can redeem painful places and turn misery into ministry. Why the people, environments, and influences around us matter when we are learning to walk in freedom. Why deliverance is not separated from discipleship, obedience, and staying close to Jesus. Reflection Questions: Where have I allowed what happened to me to define what I believe God can do in me?Where did I lay down my faith because I thought Jesus did not show up?What painful place might God want to redeem and use as ministry through my life? What environment, relationship, or influence is rubbing off on me in a way that keeps me from walking in freedom? What excuse have I been giving Jesus instead of obeying His call to get up?Am I asking for deliverance while resisting the daily walk of discipleship? Next Steps: Bring Jesus the place where your faith feels buried and ask Him to restore trust there. When you are tempted to rehearse what was lost, choose to lift worship instead.Take honest inventory of your circle and identify one environment that may need to change.Choose one practical act of obedience this week that says, “I am getting up.”Read John 5:2–9 and 2 Corinthians 2:14 again, and speak the truth that God always leads us in triumph in Christ.Walk with Jesus daily by acknowledging Him in your words, choices, relationships, and habits. Closing Line: Listen in, share this episode with someone who needs encouragement, and subscribe to follow the series each week.

The Gospel of the Kingdom | The Gospel Of, Week 3

Episode Summary: In this message, Pastor Brad continues The Gospel Of series by teaching on the gospel of the Kingdom. Using Mark 1:14-15, he shows that Jesus did not only come to secure heaven for us later; He came as King, bringing a present Kingdom that gives believers purpose, authority, and power now. This message invites us to repent from performance-based thinking, believe what Jesus has finished, and live as people who carry His righteousness, peace, and joy into the world around us. Main Scripture: Mark 1:14-15Isaiah 9Ephesians 2:10Big Idea: The gospel of the Kingdom is the good news that Jesus is King, His Kingdom is present now, and believers are empowered to live from His authority and purpose. In This Episode: Why the gospel is more than a message of salvation later and includes purpose, identity, authority, and life in Christ now.How Jesus preached the Kingdom of God and announced that the Kingdom is at hand because the King has come. Why repentance means changing the way we think, especially when we drift back into performance, fear, pressure, or religious striving. How the Kingdom of God confronts the ways of the world by serving instead of forcing, humbling instead of dominating, and transforming hearts instead of merely changing appearances. Why the Kingdom must never be separated from the King, because principles may change behavior, but only Jesus changes the heart. How the Kingdom reveals purpose and empowers believers to bless others, change environments, and walk out the good works God prepared for them.Reflection Questions: Have I understood the gospel mostly as going to heaven later, while missing the Kingdom purpose Jesus gives me now?Where do I need to repent from old ways of thinking rooted in performance, pressure, fear, or self-effort?Am I trying to advance God’s Kingdom with old kingdom methods such as force, control, image management, or comparison?Do I see the Kingdom as a present reality, or have I pushed it off until heaven or the afterlife?Where do I need to stop asking God to do what He has already empowered me to walk in through Christ?Have I made the Kingdom more about principles than about the King? What environment has God placed me in where I can bring righteousness, peace, joy, encouragement, patience, and love?Next Steps: Read Mark 1:14-15 this week and ask God to renew how you think about His Kingdom.Identify one area where you have been living from performance, and choose to trust the finished work of Jesus instead.Pray, “Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven,” over your home, workplace, family, and daily responsibilities.Look for one practical way to serve someone this week as a reflection of the upside-down Kingdom of Jesus.Stop carrying the pressure of being the center of your world, and intentionally make your life about the King.Walk into one environment this week believing that Christ in you can make it better because you are carrying His life and power.Closing Line: Listen in, share this message with someone who needs encouragement, and subscribe for more gospel-centered teaching from The Gospel Unfiltered.

The Gospel of Peace | The Gospel Of, Week 2

Episode Summary: In this message, Pastor Brad continues The Gospel Of series by looking at the gospel of peace. Peace is not simply the absence of trouble or the result of everything around us finally lining up. Through Romans 10:14–15 and Romans 5:1–2, we are reminded that the peace Jesus gives is rooted in His finished work, not in our ability to control circumstances. Because we are at peace with God through Christ, we can carry peace toward others and live with peace within ourselves. Main Scripture: Romans 10:14–15Romans 5:1–2Big Idea: The gospel of peace is the finished work of Jesus giving us assurance with God, peace toward others, and peace within ourselves—no matter what is happening around us. In This Episode: Biblical peace is not based on controlling circumstances; it is based on the finished work of Jesus and the promises of God.The gospel of peace is good news that people carry, but it is the gospel itself—not the preacher—that changes people.Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence, authority, and power of Christ in the middle of trouble.Peace with God is positional, not conditional, because it rests on what Jesus did at Calvary. When we know we are at peace with God, we can carry peace to others and begin to see ourselves the way God sees us.Reflection Questions: Where have I been waiting for circumstances to change before allowing myself to live in peace? What promise of God do I need to remember when trouble surrounds me?Have I been living as if God’s peace with me depends on my performance?Where have I treated people as enemies instead of people Jesus went to the cross for? What has God forgiven that I am still refusing to release in myself?Next Steps: Read Romans 10:14–15 and Romans 5:1–2 this week, and thank Jesus for the gospel of peace. When anxiety or chaos rises, pray from assurance instead of waiting until you understand everything.Let a trusted believer remind you of God’s promises instead of carrying pressure alone.Choose one relationship where you can carry peace instead of an us-versus-them attitude.Stop measuring God’s peace by your performance, and stand in the finished work of Jesus.Closing Line: Listen in, share this message with someone who needs peace, and subscribe so you do not miss future episodes.

The Gospel of Grace | The Gospel Of, Week 1

Episode Summary: In week one of The Gospel Of series, Pastor Brad begins with the foundation of the gospel: grace. This message shows that the gospel is not good advice about what we must do, but good news about what Jesus has already done. Through Acts 20:24, John 1, 1 Corinthians 15, and Galatians, we are reminded that grace is not merely a doctrine, concept, or backup plan for failure. Grace has a face, and His name is Jesus. Main Scripture: Acts 20:24 John 1:14-16 1 Corinthians 15:1-8Galatians 2:20Galatians 5:4Romans 5-6 Big Idea: The gospel of grace is the good news that Jesus has finished the work, given us His life, and invites us to receive and live from what He has already done. In This Episode: There is one true gospel, even though Scripture describes it with different labels and emphases.Salvation is not the finish line; it is the starting point for living the life of Jesus now.Grace is not an idea or religious concept. Grace is the person of Jesus, full of grace and truth. The core of the gospel is Jesus: His person, death, burial, resurrection, and life now given to us.The gospel is news to be declared, not advice to follow or a wage to earn.Grace is not cheap because it cost Jesus everything, but it is free because it cannot be earned or repaid. Reflection Questions: Have I treated salvation as the finish line instead of the beginning of life in Christ?Do I see grace as a concept I use when I fail, or as the person of Jesus Himself?Where have I turned the gospel into advice about what I must do instead of news about what Jesus has done?Am I living from the finished work of Jesus, or asking Him to do what He has already accomplished?Where have I slipped back into guilt, self-effort, or trying to pay God back for grace? Next Steps: Read Acts 20:24, John 1:14-16, 1 Corinthians 15, Galatians 2:20, and Galatians 5:4 through the lens of grace.Pray this week from the finished work of Jesus instead of begging Him to do what He has already done. When you share the gospel, present it as good news about Jesus, not pressure for someone to perform.Stop trying to repay God for grace. Receive it as the gift Jesus already paid for.Live this week as someone who has already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Closing Line: Listen in, share this message with someone who needs to hear the good news of grace, and subscribe for future episodes.
