Eva Happy's The Shadows Run podcast touched me once again in the Mother's Day edition. In this interview, Eva talks with her mother, Jane Happy, as a fellow human. Don't we all aspire to see our parents that way?
In this interview, Eva elevates truth seeking -- her own, that of her mother, and that of her audience as we consider the mother/daughter connection and how it relates to us. Along the way, we take in the epic stories of Jane Happy's solo bike trips through Alaska and South America as a young adult. We hear how her view on death transformed from something to fear to something to honor and support. And above all, we hear two women who seek to elevate and love one another as humans, as family, and as community. Their journey to reconcile their roles as parent and offspring is one that I think most of us can identify with. As Eva points out -- these are not the only roles we play.
There are multiple perspectives here which offer an opportunity for exploration. All of this is channeled through the lens of a podcaster in her early twenties who carries the voice of experience remarkably well in her few months of podcasting. Eva has been on the search for truth within and beyond her for some time and embodies the courage and confidence of that journey. Check out her trailer for an overview of what she's going for.
The last 10 minutes of the Mothers Day episode had me sobbing with joy. So many feelings throughout. Hats off to all in this exploration!
