    The Sham of Powerful Storytelling

Send us Fan Mail The Sham of Powerful Storytelling Today feels like a bit of a hot take to be honest. But every time I open up socials, I feel a little bit more exhausted - with AI, with the generic posts, with buzzwords, with clickbait. Can I be honest? People always talk about powerful storytelling and honestly, I think it’s become too scripted and too curated to be powerful anymore. It’s lost its guts. It’s written perfectly to convey emotion, yet somehow it comes across coldly.  I realised (very sadly) a while back that sometimes, I can’t exactly determine my emotion or how I’m feeling and I actually think some of it comes down to these things, where you read enough that the emotion is tempered and that it spills over to real life. Temper the emotion.  I’m exhausted with it. What I’m really looking for is the real stuff. The dirty gritty pieces where you pour your guts out and can understand deep down exactly what the storyteller is trying to convey. It’s not that powerful storytelling is a sham. It’s the fact that we’ve sterilised our storytelling so much to be perfect for a set audience that makes it a sham. Gimme your emotion, gimme the real stuff that came from the pit of your soul. Express it, embrace it, make real art from it. Tell your real truth. Show me the messy human qualities that you have! We’re screaming and begging for that human connection. So lets build it. Håkon Aune: Isiliel & Incinerator: BALANCING MYTHOLOGY AND MAYHEM: BLACK METAL, BLACK MAGIC & BOSSA NOVA

Send us Fan Mail Håkon Aune: Guitarist - Isiliel & Incinerator: BALANCING MYTHOLOGY AND MAYHEM: BLACK METAL, BLACK MAGIC & BOSSA NOVA Hanging out with Håkon is always a good time and today we are talking about everything across the board from heavy guitar riffs and solos, religion, littering, getting angry and mythology. This one truly has it all. Håkon and I met while he was touring with Isiliel last year and became fast friends. It seems to be a recurring theme that he is called in for his expertise in writing blistering guitar solos that are sought after time and time again. He is making a name for himself in the metal world as a true shred master. One thing I admire about him is that he has great stage presence and is always seen to be head banging and having an absolute blast. In his own words “I wasn’t allowed to have long hair until I was “old enough to decide for myself” and since then, I’ve grown it out, and I love to headbang… Especially on stage… especially if I put a lot of products in it so it will smell good” He may love his metal, but he shares his love of flamenco and Spanish guitar noting the inspiration it’s been on him across his musical career while also tuning into the love of classic metal and the eternal classic rock. Here’s a few extras he wanted to share with you too! “One time I got home from school and I plugged my guitar into my brother’s amp. All alone in the house I played Redneck by Lamb of God and felt like everything was SO amazing. It’s episodes like that that further inspire me and give me confidence that practicing music is something that never ceases to give me pleasure. It’s a bumpy road with great highs and artistic lows. That in itself for me is balance, with a little distortion” “Leaning to understand and deal with your own emotions takes time, and it’s not easy at all” “For new guitar players - if it hurts, stop and take a break. Give yourself time to relax and don’t beat yourself up all the time” Follow Håkon: www.instagram.com/ridder_blodfattig  www.instagram.com/incineratorband_official  Follow us: Instagram: @aeroash28 @heavymetalhippiemusic @healthymetalhippie www.healthymetalhippie.com www.heavymetalhippiemusic.com Support the Show! https://www.buzzsprout.com/2314151/supporters/new Support the show
