The Extra Mile Podcast

Emmanuel

The Extra Mile Podcast is a living document of growth—raw, reflective, and grounded in the pursuit of becoming better in every role life asks me to embody: athlete, man, husband, friend, lover, brother, son, and human being. Day One Starts Today — Awaken Your Potential and Step Into the Life You Were Meant to Live. The extra mile is a mental attitude: the willingness to move beyond comfort, excuses, fear, and the familiar patterns that keep us from what is meaningful. It is not simply about doing more. It is about becoming more. This podcast is part of my own becoming—a place to question, build, sharpen, and confront myself. The aim is not to become someone else, but to become the man I was meant to be: strong without becoming hard, ambitious without becoming empty, disciplined without becoming cold, successful without abandoning my values, and loving without mistaking love for weakness. Love is central to that journey. It gives discipline a deeper reason, turns ambition into service, and transforms self-mastery into a way of leading, creating, giving, and living with purpose. Across episodes, I explore philosophy, psychology, faith, sport, masculinity, relationships, wealth, work, endurance, and personal development. The focus is always practical: how to think clearer, act better, love better, work better, live better, and perform when it matters. The inspiration comes from books, conversations, personal experiences, and defining moments—from Hume and Hercules to the subconscious mind and Shackleton’s Endurance. This is not theory for its own sake. It is about application. Endurance means continuing when comfort disappears, remaining loyal to your values under pressure, and refusing to surrender when life tests your character. At its core, The Extra Mile Podcast is about strength, love, character, and self-mastery. It asks what it means to improve, to become a good man, to build healthy relationships, to create wealth with integrity, and to pursue success without losing yourself. This is not a finished product. It is an ongoing process of learning, testing, failing, and refining. Because the life you are meant to live may not begin someday. It may begin today. Welcome to The Extra Mile Podcast.

    78. #1 Winning is selfish. Tim S. Grover about W1inning; The unforgiving race to greatness.

Selfish losers take. Selfish winners build themselves so they can give. Prioritize your goals, protect your focus, create your wins — and let those wins create value for the people around you. There is a difference between selfish losers and selfish winners.Selfish losers take from others without creating value. Ze prioriteren zichzelf ten koste van hun team, bedrijf of familie en geven vervolgens anderen de schuld wanneer het misgaat. Selfish winners invest in themselves so they can ultimately give more to others. Ze geven zichzelf confidence, courage, clarity, time, space, focus and freedom to win.Putting yourself first is not automatically selfish in a negative sense. Het gaat erom waarom je jezelf prioriteit geeft en wat je vervolgens met die positie doet. Your success should create value beyond yourself. You cannot help everyone else before you can help yourself. You cannot create your own wins without prioritizing your own goals and dreams. Daarom zijn een sterke NO-list en IDGAF muscle belangrijk: niet iedere verwachting, mening, uitnodiging of afleiding verdient toegang tot je tijd en energie. The principle: Prioritize yourself not to take from others, but to become capable of giving more.
