Hello, and welcome to Movie The Needle, a film podcast where two complete amateurs haphazardly dissect movies and try to mov(i)e the needle for one another. Each month, Simon and Carl argue over a film that one of us likes and the other...well, not so much. We mash movies together with a guest in Mashflix & Chill, revisit a favourite in the Classics Collection, then look back at the month's films and unfinished business in the Monthly Retro. Expect cast, production, plot, recasting, movie games, director debates and questionable opinions.

S05E01 - Movie the Needle - Million Dollar Baby

Carl and Simon discuss million dollar baby for Movie the Needle and see whether they can change each other's minds. It's a 2004 buddy and drama film directed by Clint Eastwood, featuring Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman. Clint Eastwood pulls no punches, but does Million Dollar Baby earn its emotional knockout? Carl and Simon step into the ring to see if they can Movie the Needle. One of us likes it and the other doesn't. We talk all of the usual nonsense including being grumpy, swearing at a priest, engaging in some politically incorrect banter, and possibly even coming around to the idea of a surrogate child fixing all of our problems.
