    L’été dernier, Xiaodan He a réalisé un long métrage de fiction à Montréal. Une histoire d’amour audacieuse entre deux femmes séparées par une génération, une langue, et une culture.  Pour donner vie à son scénario, Xiaodan a mis en scène des comédiens de divers horizons, en s’appuyant sur le savoir-faire d’une équipe technique majoritairement québécoise.     I met Chris at a café in Vancouver. There's nothing much to stay about this café, except that it hosts a group bringing together native Chinese speakers and Chinese learners, every week.  I quickly realized that Chris and I had something in common—aside from being two white guys who enjoy immersing ourselves in Mandarin.  We also share a passion for movies.  I’m really glad to have Chris on the podcast for the final episode of the year.  In our conversation, we dive into topics like the "monastic" way of learning Chinese, Trump’s popularity in China, retirement home for young people exhausted from the « 996 », and of course, his favorite films.

Writing your homework and presenting your thesis exclusively in mandarin? Well..., that’s exactly what we did! Today, I’m thrilled to share an episode featuring Dom Hopking, the first UK Cinematography postgraduate from the Beijing Film Academy. No matter how wild his experiences get, Dom always manages to land on his feet with charm and lovely sense of humor. In our conversation, we delve into his journey from Edinburgh to Beijing, working as an English teacher near Wuhan, and the unexpected adventures that come with being a foreigner in China.  I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it!
