Dear God, Lettuce Pray is a podcast with context-driven biblical storytelling for people tired of shallow teaching, weaponized Scripture, and churchy filler. Hosted by Santana, this show unpacks difficult Scripture, misunderstood Bible stories, hard truths, spiritual questions, and everyday faith in a way that feels thoughtful, human, and easy to follow. Some episodes will make you think deeply, some will make you laugh, and some will make you sit with what God may be trying to show you. On this show, it's not about going to church, forcing you to believe, or fear mongering you with "hell".  The DGLP Podcast firmly believes that if we can encourage you to read the Word for yourself, that God will handle the rest.  Whether you are a believer, spiritually worn out, curious about the Bible, or just trying to understand what Scripture actually says, this podcast creates space to learn, reflect, and grow without feeling talked at. Moses was a Valid Crashout | S2E20

Drop Us a Message! Hello and welcome to another episode of the Dear God, Lettuce Pray podcast. Today's episode is about Moses. After leading Israel out of Egypt, witnessing miracles, receiving the Law, and spending forty years in the wilderness, Moses stood at the edge of the Promised Land... but never entered it. Why? This episode traces Moses' journey from the Nile River to Mount Nebo before taking a closer look at the moment that changed everything in Numbers 20. Together, we'll unpack why Moses struck the rock, why God's response was so severe, what Scripture teaches about obedience and God's holiness, and why this is one of the most misunderstood stories in the Bible. Scriptures: Exodus 2-4, Numbers 20:1-13, Deuteronomy 34, and Matthew 17 . . . 50 for 50! The Dear God, Lettuce Pray podcast is still an independent show. I am seeking 50 people that will contribute $50 to the show. $2,500 will help cover the costs for one year of website hosting, production software, and a very modest marketing budget for each quarter to help spread the word about the DGLP podcast. But What Does Your Heart Say Tho? | S2E18

Drop Us a Message! James chapter 4 asks one of the most uncomfortable questions in Scripture: Why are you asking in the first place? This episode explores the motives of the heart, the desires that quietly shape our prayers, and the difference between seeking God's will and simply wanting God to bless our own. I also share a personal story that forced me to examine my own heart and wrestle with questions I didn't expect to ask. Just an honest look at what Scripture says and what happens when the Holy Spirit exposes the places we'd rather keep hidden. If you've ever felt frustrated in prayer, struggled with unanswered prayers, battled envy, comparison, selfish ambition, or simply want to understand James 4 in its proper biblical context, this conversation is for you. Failures of Passive Leadership | S2E17

Drop Us a Message! Can someone know the truth, speak the truth, and still fail as a leader? In this episode of the Dear God, Lettuce Pray podcast, we are walking through one of the most sobering leadership accounts in the Bible: Eli and his sons in 1 Samuel 2-3. Hophni and Phinehas openly corrupted Israel's worship. They stole from the Lord's offerings, abused their priestly authority, and exploited the very people they were called to shepherd (1 Samuel 2:12-17, 22). Eli knew exactly what was happening. He confronted them, yet left them in positions where the damage continued. That raises an uncomfortable question: When does awareness become passivity? Together we will unpack what the Bible actually says about passive leadership, why God held Eli accountable for failing to restrain his sons (1 Samuel 3:13), and what this story teaches anyone entrusted with influence--whether you're raising children, leading a ministry, managing a business, serving your community, or simply trying to follow Christ faithfully. We'll also explore practical biblical ways to avoid passive leadership through faithful stewardship, loving correction, and obedience to God's Word. This episode includes Scripture from: 1 Samuel 2-4Proverbs 27:23James 1:22Hebrews 12:6If you are reading through 1 Samuel, studying biblical leadership, growing in Christian discipleship, or looking for an in-depth Bible study on Eli, this conversation will challenge the way you think about responsibility, accountability, and faithfulness. Dear God, Lettuce Pray podcast is a Bible podcast dedicated to studying Scripture in context, asking difficult questions, and helping believers grow in biblical literacy by letting God's Word speak for itself.
