    An Introduction to Underdubs

Welcome to Underdubs, a podcast about 70's progressive rock – and more!  This podcast is a conversational music variety show with a focus on the classic progressive rock artists of the 1970’s and how their music has shaped culture, technology, and the music of today.  We'll cover the classic prog bands like Yes and Genesis, but other forms like the Canterbury scene, neo-prog, proto prog, fusion, and all points in between!  Your hosts Brian Donohoe and Pat Strawser are two of the founding members of the instrumental progressive rock/fusion band Volaré based in Athens, Georgia, from the mid-1990's.  In this first season of Underdubs, we’ll introduce ourselves and talk about some of the bands we’ve been in and the music that has influenced us. We ask the age-old question “What is Prog?” and we talk about those formative records that got us into prog in the first place. We discuss our favorite live albums, and we dig into the fusion and Canterbury scene.  Some other things you can expect on Underdubs are album and band reviews, interviews with prog artists, playlist links to the music we discuss, and a special feature: the Keyboard Corner, where we highlight and discuss the most common keyboard instruments featured in progressive rock music.  So be sure to like and subscribe to Underdubs! Episode 1 debuts on April 15th, 2024.  See you soon! Support the show Be sure to like and subscribe to Underdubs! YouTube Facebook Instagram
