    Wednesday Night:   Revelation—5                                     October 28, 2026 PHILADELPHIA—The faithful church. 1.    Jesus gives a description of who He is to the church. a.    Revelation 3:7  b.    He is holy.  c.     Mark 1:22-24  d.    He is true.  e.    John 14:6  f.      He has the key of David. g.    Isaiah 22:22 h.    Revelation 1:18  i.      Matthew 16:19 2.    Being faithful to God and His Word opens opportunities. a.    Revelation 3:8  b.    Jesus is looking for faithfulness to His Word over cultural attractiveness.   c.     See the open-door Jesus has set before you. d.    An open door is an opportunity from God, but we must step into it. 3.    Faithfulness to God will bring vindication and save His people.   a.    Revelation 3:9-10 b.    There are three categories of people in the Bible: Jews, Gentiles, and the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.  c.     Jesus recognizes the faithfulness of His people.  d.    The church will be raptured away from this earth to keep us from the hour of trial. e.    We must reject antisemitism.  4.    Jesus states an urgency to stand your ground and stay ready. a.    Revelation 3: 11-13  b.    Do not let temporary pressure cause you to surrender an eternal reward. c.     Do not gradually let go of convictions, obedience, and devotion that characterizes a faithful life. d.    Revelation 3:12  Final thought about Philadelphia—The faithful church:  Don't let your limitations keep you from your assignment, and don't let your circumstances cause you to abandon your faithfulness.

    Wednesday Night:   Revelation—4                                     October 21, 2026 THYATIRA—The tolerant church. Revelation 2:18  1.    Jesus sees and knows all. a.    Daniel 10:5-6  2.    There is a commendation for a church that is growing. a.    Revelation 2:19 b.    Let’s take two things to consider:                                        i.     Love is not a substitute for truth.                                     ii.     Works is not a substitute for relationship. 3.    Christ confronts a church that tolerates compromise. a.    Revelation 2:20 b.    They had a serious problem; they tolerated what God condemned c.     Revelation 2:21-23  4.    Christ calls His people to hold fast.  a.    Revelation 2:24-29 b.    God's boundaries aren't designed to restrict our freedom; they are designed to keep us within His will. SARDIS—The Dead Church Revelation 3:1a Isaiah 11:2 1.    Having a good reputation doesn’t mean you are strong spiritually. a.    Revelation 3:1  2.    Jesus said wake up and strengthen what remains. a.    Revelation 3:2-3  b.    Be Watchful: The Amplified Bible says to "Rouse yourself and keep awake." It is time for us to wake up, become alert to the signs of the time, and be active for God as never before.  c.     Strengthen what remains: Take hold of the things that remain and are ready to die in your life and strengthen them through prayer and the Word.  d.    Remember: Go back to what you heard and believed at first.  e.    Hold Fast: Keep a tight grip on your faith and on God's Word.  f.      Repent: Repent so you will be ready for the return of Christ and not be caught unaware. g.    Psalm 51:10-12  3.    Jesus knows. a.    Revelation 3:4-6

    The Power of Words

    THE POWER OF WORDS Proverbs 18:21 NLT has this strong reminder for us:  21 The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Every word that you say impacts someone’s life in some way. So, what do we do about our mouths? 1. Think before you speak. James 1:19 NLT has this caution for us:  19 Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Ask yourself these questions:  ●  What is my motive for speaking?  ●  What do I hope to accomplish by saying this?  ●  Will these words encourage someone, or will they rip them apart?  ●  Are these words I will be glad I squeezed out like toothpaste?  ●  Or will I regret them, having to try and scramble to stuff them back into my mouth? Proverbs 15:1 NLT says this: A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. 2. Encourage and uplift others with your words. Proverbs 16:24 NLT:  “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” 3. Take time to apologize. Taking the time to say, “I’m sorry,” can remove that weight of guilt from your own heart and shoulders. 4. Finally, watch what goes into your mind.  The things that go in will inevitably always come out, whether you realize it or not. Matthew 15:11 NLT 11It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth. Psalms 19:14 NKJV Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
