This is a show where faith meets fandom. I’m a disciple of Jesus who also loves cartoons, Ed Sheeran, anime, young adult fiction – lots of pop culture. And I also happen to be easily inspired by all of these things, too. I used to think that I had to separate these parts of my life, until I realized that my spiritual life is ... my life. So, it sort of makes sense for me to see God in everything. I’m making space to geek out with other disciples about what we’re watching and enjoying and how those things are crossing over into our spiritual lives. Or, simply put, our lives.

Even though the film is about high-school superheroes, it was a launching pad to unpack my deep desire for partnership and my complicated journey with hoping for love. We took some time to explore how that longing shows up for the both of us and how we cope with waiting on God for partnership – especially when there’s shortcuts we could take, instead.
