The Wild Woman Podcast with Becca Ploener

Becca Ploener

Welcome to the wild woman podcast, on this podcast I bring to surface the conversations we have in private about the outdoor community. My hope is that by sharing these challenging topics, I can break the ice, promote positive change, and empower people to be more informed, aware, and intentional with their actions. I’m an adventure life coach, and whitewater kayak instructor based out of Asheville, NC. I specialize in empowering outdoor athletes and enthusiasts to overcome the mental side of adventure so that they can feel safe, secure and satisfied with their adventures and their life. E160: This is why you need to be more of a (risky) B.I.T.C.H. with Anjali

Being a "bitch" has been framed as a super negative thing for a woman, essentially meaning she's bossy, headstrong, and mean. In this episode, Anjali and Becca are breaking down what it really means to be a B.I.T.C.H. (Brave Intuitive, Truth Centered Hottie) and a Safety Oriented Risky Bitch (someone who loves challenging themselves and also prioritizes making smart decisions).  --- Anjali is the founder of Radical Woman and has worked with over 1,000 women since 2019. She weaves somatic healing, feminine embodiment, vocal medicine, inner child work, and trauma-informed practices to help women reconnect with their bodies, power, and wholeness. At the heart of her work is teaching women to embody heart and spine. How to set boundaries without guilt, honor their needs and desires, stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace, and choose self devotion over self sacrifice. If you know you have the technical skills, but you keep "f*****g up" due to some external circumstance, you know it's time to reach out.  She’s a sponsored whitewater athlete, a former world class musician performing as a soloist for over 26,000 person live audiences. E159: How to appreciate the "bad" emotions and "shit-uations" with Millie

What even is a "bad" emotion? Shame, Guilt, Fear, Sadness, Frustration.  All things that we've culturally marked as icky, and things we should avoid. But what Millie and Becca discuss here is how those exact same things create massive meaning and growth opportunities in our lives. The things we avoid and the things we are running from are actually controlling our lives. What if the secrets to growth and satisfaction lie inside the discomfort that we've classically labeled as "bad".  Millie is an shadow work and somatic facilitator who's living live in full spectrum. You'll fall in love immediately with her quirky, genuine, grounding demeanor. When she's not growing her business, she spends a lot of time with kids at the nursery she works at part time - letting that infuse into her inspiration for a childlike awe-full life.    Check her out on instagram: @thefreesoma ---- DM Becca about the Mutually Assured Expansion Program Join Becca’s GROUP DARE facebook group (free)Becca is THE high stakes performance coach for athletes, musicians, leaders and performers who feel a disproportionate fear relative to their skill level. E158: How to Use Death Medicine as fuel for your ONE LIFE with Emily Bingham

What is life without death? I call death the "ultimate risk", but what happens when you come to terms with that ultimate risk? Looking bluntly at your own mortality and the finiteness of this one life we're gifted allows us to actually feel and live fully alive.  Emily Bingham is a spiritual life coach, speaker, and author of Love & Grief, helping people leave nothing unlived. At 30, her husband Ian was diagnosed with terminal cancer — and in the fifteen months before he died, they learned how to fully live. Now she teaches what she calls Death Medicine: facing your mortality now to get the clarity most people only find at the end, through her Death & Disco podcast, her year-long Bucket LIFE journey, and stages everywhere.
