    Episode #5: CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: Paul McCartney, 14th December 2024, Manchester

    Hi, and welcome to our podcast, Great Gigs that Changed the World! We're a father and son team, Adam (42) & Isaac (10), and we spend loads of time watching incredible music concerts on YouTube. We spend so much time talking about these shows, that we thought it would be fun to press the red button and make a podcast about it! In Episode #5, we talk about a show that is important to us... we hope that you will allow us this indulgence.... The show is question is Paul McCartney, live in Manchester on 14th December 2024, just 10 days ago. We were lucky enough to get tickets to the show and it totally blew our minds.... definitely a core memory for both of us :) For the first time, we feature some short audio clips of McCartney live on this tour, we hope that you enjoy the addition.     Episode #4: The Beatles Rooftop Performance, January 30th 1969

    In episode #4, Adam & Isaac discuss the legendary rooftop show put on by The Beatles in January of 1969 at their Apple Corps HQ in London. In what was to become The Beatles' final ever live performance, the band took to a makeshift stage on a London rooftop to perform an unannounced and relatively unplanned performance of mostly new material that was to make it onto their 'Let it Be' album.     In episode #3, Adam & Isaac discuss the incredible show put on by Metallica and the San Francisco symphony in 1999. Fusing metal and heavy rock with classical music was definitely an experiment, but one that paid off in spades and silenced even the most ardent of critics!     Episode #2 - Eric Clapton, MTV Unplugged. 16th January 1992, Bray Studios

    For their second episode, father and son team Adam (42) and Isaac (10) take a deep dive into the legendary Eric Clapton MTV Unplugged performance in 1992. Little did anyone know at the time, but this live album performance would go on to become one of Clapton's standout moments in his incredible and varied music career, earning him six Grammy awards, and 26 million album sales to date. We talk about how the show came to pass, why it was such an iconic show for Queen, and we also dispel some of the stories and myths about Queen made popular in the hit Movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.
