    S3E3: Aging in Place - smart home upgrades that make it possible

    Are you currently in your forever home? Would you like it to be? The features that make it hard to stay in any house forever are pretty simple: stairs, bedrooms, doorways and maintenance. Tune in for a quick overview of options to upgrade your home so that you CAN stay there forever! 1) bedroom conversion for main floor living 2)addition or attached dwelling unit (ADU) 3) stair lift, ramps (rare), elevators (super rare if not part of original design) 4) bathroom access - door width, zero entry shower, grab bars 5) Detached accesstory dwelling unit (DADU) totally separate living space with bathroom, kitchen and living space on the same lot.     I started this podcast to leverage what I'm good at (education) and fill a gap I see for the home owner and future home owner - easy to access information and access to local professionals! Real Life and Real Estate was the attempt to blend the many issues facing not only real estate buyers and sellers but also the real life issues of the home owner. Since the internet loves hyperlocal and there is another podcast out there with a similar name, I decided to lean into what's truly important: My Local Connections. I've lived in or near Puyallup since 2000. I've raised kids in Graham, been in the Bethel and Puyallup school districts and moved to the city in 2018.     S2E34: Fresh Walls, Fresh Goals - Healthy Habits with Becky Racine

RECIPE for Egg Roll in a Bowl: 1.5 lb ground turkey breast 12 oz shredded cabbage 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp ginger 1/3 c soy sauce 1 Tb sesame oil 1/2 c green onions for garnish In small bowl combine garlic, ginger, sesame oil and soy sauce, set aside. In large skillet, brown the turkey over medium-high heat. Add the shredded cabbage and stir to combine. Add the sauce mixture to the meat and veggies. Stir and cook for about 3-5 minutes, until the cabbage has just begun to wilt but is still crunchy. Garnish with green onions if desired. Serve with cauliflower rice, brown rice or basmati rice if desired. RECIPE for Crustless Quiche: Heat oven to 350*F Spray pie tin with small amount of oil 4 eggs 2 C cottage cheese (1%) 1 and 1/3 c mozzarella, reserve 1/3 c 1 tsp oregano 1/4 c Parmesan 10 oz frozen spinach (thawed and press out water) *optional: 1/2 c diced peppers, 1/2 c diced mushrooms, 1/2 c riced cauliflower Mix everything but 1/3 c mozzarella in bowl, stir to combine. Pour mixture into pie tin. Top with 1/3 c mozzarella. Cook for 40-45 minutes, let rest before serving.
