September 20, 2026 - The Final Victory | 2 Peter 3:10–13; Revelation 19–20 Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

How does the spiritual war end? With the absolute and unconditional victory of God. As we conclude our series on spiritual warfare, we turn our attention to the ultimate fate of the believer’s three enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Scripture promises that this present world, marked by rebellion against God, will one day be replaced by a new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:10–13). Our bodies, currently affected by sin and corruption, will be raised and glorified, bearing the image of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:42–49). And Satan, the ancient serpent, will ultimately be crushed and cast into the lake of fire forever (Genesis 3:15; Revelation 19–20). The battle will not continue forever. Sin will be defeated, righteousness will reign, and God will have the final victory. Key Takeaways: The world will be made new.Our bodies will be glorified. The devil will be finally defeated.God’s victory is certain. Keywords: spiritual warfare, final victory, glorification, new heavens and new earth, Satan defeated CTA: Subscribe for weekly sermons from Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI.

Sept. 13, 2026 - Until the King Returns | Luke 19:11-27, Acts 1:6-11 Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

The King is coming back—but what are we doing while we wait? In this Mission Sunday message, we are reminded that Jesus has entrusted His followers with important work to accomplish until He returns. Through the Parable of the Minas, Jesus teaches that His servants are called to work faithfully rather than simply stay busy with things that do not matter. After His resurrection, Jesus clearly defines that work: proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and call people from every nation to salvation through Him. And we are not expected to accomplish this mission in our own strength—the risen and ascended King has promised the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. As we wait for Christ’s return, the question is not whether we have work to do, but whether we are faithfully doing the work He has given us. This message challenges us to take our next step in making disciples and joining the mission of the King. Key takeaways: • Work faithfully until Christ returns. • Proclaim the Gospel to all nations. • Make disciples who follow and obey Jesus. • Depend on the Holy Spirit’s power. • Take your next step in the King’s work. Scripture: Luke 19:11-27; Luke 24:44-48; Acts 1:6-11; Matthew 28:18-20 Keywords:  Mission Sunday, making disciples, Gospel mission, Great Commission, Jesus Christ return CTA:  Subscribe for weekly sermons from Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI.

August 23, 2026 - Resist: Spiritual Warfare FAQs About Demon Possession — Baptist Bible Church

What does the Bible actually teach about demon possession, exorcism, and spiritual warfare? In this message from the Resist series, we examine these often-misunderstood subjects through the lens of Scripture. Rather than focusing on confronting demons, Scripture directs believers toward the ordinary means God has provided for spiritual victory: truth, righteousness, faith, prayer, the Word of God, and the Gospel. We will consider why Jesus cast out demons, what those miracles revealed about His authority as King, whether a Christian can be demon-possessed, and why the New Testament epistles never command believers to cast out demons. Ultimately, spiritual warfare is not about discovering secret formulas or confronting demonic powers—it is about standing firm in Christ and faithfully fighting sin through the means God has given us. Key takeaways:  Jesus cast out demons to relieve suffering and demonstrate His authority.  Believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  The New Testament emphasizes sanctification, not exorcism.  The Gospel is God’s power to set captives free. Scripture: Matthew 12:43-45; Matthew 10:7-8; John 17:15; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:15; Ephesians 6:10-18. August 16, 2026 - Resist: Fighting for the Lost | Ephesians 2:1-3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

Spiritual warfare is not only about fighting sin in our own lives—it is also about fighting for the souls of those who are still trapped in darkness. In this message from the Resist series, we examine how Satan works to blind the lost, promote falsehood, and hinder the spread of the Gospel. Yet God has given His people powerful weapons—not physical weapons, but the divine power of His truth and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will consider what it means for the church to stand firmly for truth and for individual believers to courageously proclaim the Gospel to those within their spheres of influence. Key takeaways:  • The enemy seeks to blind the lost to the truth of the Gospel.  • Spiritual warfare is a battle for souls, not against people.  • God’s truth has divine power to tear down spiritual strongholds.  • The church must faithfully stand for truth without compromise.  • Every believer is called to proclaim the Gospel and fight for the lost.

August 9, 2026 - Victory Strategies: Discipleship | Galatians 6:1–2, Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

You were never meant to fight sin alone. In this message from Galatians 6:1–2, we discover that discipleship is not simply a program or Bible study—it is God’s design for helping believers grow in holiness, fight sin, and become more like Christ. Paul challenges us to move toward struggling believers with gentleness, helping to restore those who are caught in sin and bearing one another’s burdens. Building on the context of Galatians 5, we are reminded that Christian freedom is not freedom to sin, but freedom to walk by the Spirit. We’ll consider:  • Why we need other believers in our fight against sin  • What it means to restore someone with gentleness  • How intentional discipleship helps us bear one another’s burdens  • Why every believer needs to be discipled—and should disciple others  • How discipleship fulfills Christ’s command to love one another Scripture: Galatians 5:1, 5:13, 5:16–17; Galatians 6:1–2; Philippians 3:12; Hebrews 12:1; Jeremiah 17:9; 1 Thessalonians 2:7–12. August 2, 2026 – Resist: Victory Strategies: The Church | Baptist Bible Church, Sparta MI

Can you follow Jesus faithfully without being deeply connected to a local church? In a culture that often treats church as optional, Scripture presents a very different picture. God has designed the local church to be an essential means of grace in the believer's fight against sin and pursuit of holiness. In this message from the Resist series, we explore six ways God strengthens His people through the gathered church. From the faithful preaching of God's Word to worship, the Lord's Supper, biblical fellowship, godly leadership, and loving accountability, the local church is God's provision to equip believers to persevere in Christ. Key takeaways:  God's Word equips believers to resist sin and pursue righteousness.  Corporate worship redirects our hearts and affections toward Christ.  The Lord's Supper cultivates a lifestyle of repentance.  Biblical fellowship, leadership, and accountability help believers endure faithfully. Scripture References: Hebrews 10:24–25; 2 Timothy 3:16–4:2; Colossians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 11:27–32; Hebrews 13:17; Matthew 18:15–17. July 26, 2026 – Resist: Victory Strategies: Prayer | Ephesians 6:17–18; Hebrews 4:14–16 BBC

If prayer is one of the greatest weapons God has given His people, why is it so often the first thing we neglect? In this message from the Resist series, we discover that prayer is not a last resort—it is essential for spiritual victory. Looking at Ephesians 6:17–18 and Hebrews 4:14–16, we see how prayer keeps believers alert in the battle against sin, works hand in hand with God's Word, and provides access to the grace we need in moments of temptation. Because Jesus is our compassionate High Priest, we can confidently come before God's throne to receive mercy, strength, and help exactly when we need it most. Key Takeaways: Prayer is an essential weapon in spiritual warfare. God's Word and prayer work together to transform our hearts. Jesus understands our weakness and sympathizes with our struggles. God's grace is available in every moment of temptation. Victory over sin begins with daily dependence on Christ.
