Aftermath of an Assassination

Paul Gephart and Mr. Austin Franklin

An assassination is a single act of violence that has the potential to alter the course of world history. Julius Caesar, Franz Ferdinand, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Yitzhak Rabin, Nicholas II; whether a few millennia or just a few decades ago, the aftermath of these individuals' assassination still reverberates within our present-day society. Join retired U.S. Air Force Officer Paul Gephart and Latin American experienced legate “Austin Franklin” as they perform case study analysis on significant historical assassinations, provide context, and answer the questions: why did they get assassinated, who was the assassin, what were/are the political and socioeconomic impacts of the assassination, and did the assassin meet their political or personal objectives by committing murder? Episode 104. House Atreus: Agamemnon

It is the story of revenge, justice, murder, incest, cannibalism, patricide, matricide, sex, betrayal, heartbreak, pride, loss, and crime. The atrocities committed in this story were against humanity, the Gods, and society; which continued to escalate in their depravity until the curse on the house was broken by an idea from the Goddess of wisdom. This is one of the oldest stories in the world, composed by Homer in the late 8th or early 7th century BCE, it is in part the story of the Iliad, which focuses on the Greeks conquest of Troy. Throughout the Iliad Homer introduces several key characters, Helen of Troy, Paris, Hector, Achilles, and in my opinion one of the most dynamic characters in the story as well as Greek mythology, Agamemnon. Written later, The Oresteia, when Agamemnon returns home from Troy, he is murdered by his wife Clytemnestra, but that simple statement does not give the true complexity and themes that the Greek poets, and playwrights were exploring through the cursed existence of not only Agamemnon but of his entire bloodline starting with his great grandfather down through the generations to his own son’s unforgivable crime and hellish existence. The story of Agamemnon has to be told through his family and the curse placed upon the House of Atreus, Agamemnon’s father whose atrocity was so horrible, that the house bore name. #history #assassination #murder #greek #family #curse #Odessey #Iliad #fate #betrayal #mother #Father #agamemnon #incest #horror #cannibal Aftermath of an Assassination is a Dusty Books Production, created by Mr. Austin Franklin and Paul Gephart Music is from upbeat.io, title theme is “Hero Time” by Paulo Kalazzi The views expressed in this episode are those of the hosts and do not represent the Department of Defense.
