Having always been drawn to all forms of art he visited the 2018 European Stone Stacking Championships in Dunbar. From that day onward he became hooked on the meditative benefits of creating land art. Since 2018 Laurence has become one of the directors of the European Land Art Festival (ELAF) in Dunbar. In 2022 he won the overall artistic award at the Llano Earth Art Festival in Texas. In the last few years Laurence’s work has become primarily ground based, usually centred on repeating mandala or fractal like patterns created on beaches or forests. Recently he began working on animations where his experience as a photographer serves him well. The practice of creating land art has had a profound effect on his well-being and worldview. In 2022 he began running land art workshops with adults and school children. His work can be found on social media.
