He helped scale an organization from $21 million to $100 million in three years. From the outside, he'd won. Today Jason coaches high-achieving Christian entrepreneurs, and his book, Never Enough, arrives late October. He and Cynthia talk about the sixth-grade moment where the proving started, why peace is a practice and not a destination, what over 100 successful Christian men say their success has cost them, and how to build from your worth rather than for it. He also felt bankrupt inside. So he spent a day in a retirement home asking people what mattered, and every single one of them talked about regrets. He closed all six businesses, entered the world of personal growth, and spent the next 48 years leading his Inside Out Leadership seminars in 101 countries. Tony Robbins did his first firewalk in one of Terry's trainings. In this episode, Terry, now 83, sits down with Cynthia and tells the stories behind that turn: touring as a folk singer with Jimmie Rodgers before finishing Stanford, running 30 miles along the Berlin Wall two years before it fell, flying to Berlin the day after it came down to create "The Writings on the Wall," the international bestseller that led to dinner with Gorbachev and seminars deep inside Soviet Russia. He shares the second-grade classmates, orphan twins, who taught him gratitude, the retirement home visit that changed his course, his upcoming book "The Call," and what he most wants his 10-year-old son to know. On why he wrote "The Call: Who Are You and Why Are You Here?", Terry put it simply: "Everybody's called. Just not everybody answers or is even aware they're called." Remember: You are amazing. She was told girls don't play soccer, until she met an American girl who told her that in America, girls can do whatever they want. At ten years old she decided she would come to the United States. Years later she did, arriving as a teenager and moving in with a family where no one spoke Spanish. Her English came fast. As she tells it, after three days of waiting for someone to sit down for dinner, she figured she had better learn the language or she was going to starve. That same grit built a career. She spent nearly a decade at American Express Travel, working the call center through September 11th to get stranded travelers home. She moved into Medicare almost by accident and became rookie of the year having never owned or sold a policy. She went on to build multiple companies, including S&R Services, now a team of about 30 agents, and Rosie Paulsen Enterprises, where she mentors other servant leaders entering the Medicare space. What began in Florida now reaches seniors across the country. She is also the author of Ñeque, named for the Ecuadorian word for grit and resilience, built on four components: purpose, persistence, perseverance, and pivot. She chairs the Spirit of the Community Awards for the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. In this episode of The Cynthia Manion Show, Rosie sits down with Cynthia to talk about the soccer field that started it all, why she treats Medicare as a calling rather than a sale, the four Ps behind her book, sitting at the tables where decisions get made, and what she wants to leave for her family and the people she serves. "I'm an Ecuadorian by birth, Hispanic by heritage, and an American by choice. And I will die for this country." A former corporate executive who once led global change programs, she now advises leaders and public figures and writes about how people rebuild after life takes everything out from under them. She joined Cynthia from New Zealand for one of the most honest conversations the show has had. Sally has lived through extreme adversity, including profound loss, and she stepped away from public life for seven and a half years before returning to share her story and her work. Beyond Brave grew out of the years after her husband Roger died, and it centers on what she calls the empowered side of grief. In this episode, she and Cynthia talk about courage, fear, and faith, the three pillars at the heart of the book (embracing confrontation, resistance, and discomfort), what it means to be soft and gentle with yourself in the hardest weeks, and how we keep living fully when so much feels uncertain. Her core message is one of hope: "I think it's important that people realize that it is actually possible to get beyond what it is that you've experienced, regardless of the extremity."
