What Are You Pursuing? 4 Ways to Set Better Goals as a Christian Woman

What are you pursuing right now—and is it actually leading you where God wants you to go?We all have goals for our families, careers, ministries, health, relationships, and personal growth. But it’s possible to be productive, motivated, and busy while still pursuing things in the wrong order. In this episode of the HER Podcast, Kristin Sampson continues the FOCUS series by looking at Nehemiah and what his story teaches us about setting goals with God at the center.Kristin shares four practical ways to refocus your goals:• Ask yourself why you want what you want• Put God before the plan• Start small and take the next faithful step• Guard your focus from distractionsBecause not every opportunity is your assignment. Not every request deserves a yes.And not every good goal is the right goal for this season. The real question isn’t just:“What do I want to accomplish?”It’s: “Are the things I’m pursuing helping me become who God is calling me to be?”📖 Scriptures discussed: Nehemiah 1–6, Matthew 6:33, Nehemiah 6:3If this episode encourages you, share it with a friend and tell us in the comments:What is one goal you’re praying about in this season?Subscribe to the HER Podcast for weekly conversations about faith, growth, purpose, encouragement, and becoming the woman God is calling you to be.Chapters:00:00 What Are You Pursuing?00:31 Continuing the FOCUS Series00:57 Are Your Goals Aligned With God?01:43 Productive Doesn’t Always Mean Purposeful02:07 What Nehemiah Teaches Us About Goals02:46 Prayer Before Planning03:13 Don’t Start With Hustle03:35 Turning Prayer Into Action03:58 What Happens When Opposition Comes04:16 “I Am Doing a Great Work”04:40 Staying Focused When Distractions Come05:02 Godly Goals Require More Than Desire05:22 When Good Goals Get Out of Order05:51 Seek First the Kingdom of God06:14 Putting God First Changes Your Direction06:37 When Meaningful Busyness Becomes a Distraction06:58 Questions Every Goal Needs to Answer07:21 Who Are You Becoming Along the Way?07:39 4 Ways to Refocus Your Goals07:46 #1 Ask Yourself Why08:13 #2 Put God Before the Plan08:33 #3 Start Small and Stay Faithful08:56 #4 Guard Your Focus09:20 Your Life Is Shaped by What You Pursue09:43 Goals, Faithfulness, Impact & Stewardship10:15 Next Week: Staying MotivatedKeywords:Christian goal setting, Christian goals, setting goals with God, Godly goals, goals that honor God, better goals with God, Biblical goal setting, Christian personal growth, Christian women podcast, HER Podcast, Kristin Sampson, focus on God, Christian motivation, Christian encouragement, Christian productivity, finding God’s purpose, God’s purpose for my life, Nehemiah Bible study, Nehemiah 6:3, I am doing a great work and cannot come down, Matthew 6:33, seek first the kingdom of God, faith based goal setting, spiritual goals, Christian priorities, faithfulness over success, purpose over productivity, Christian encouragement for women, women of faith, Bible study for women, Christian podcast for women, how to know God’s will, staying focused on God, overcoming distractions, Christian discipline, prayer before planning, faith and goals, Christian purpose, Biblical wisdom, personal growth with GodHashtags:#HERPodcast #ChristianWomen #ChristianPodcast #ChristianGoals #GoalSetting #GodsPurpose #WomenOfFaith #Nehemiah #SeekFirst #Faithfulness #ChristianEncouragement #FocusOnGod #BiblicalWisdom #ChristianMotivation #PurposeOverProductivity To watch on YouTube go to https://youtu.be/PkKdV5Pfhrs

When Life Feels Unfair: A Biblical Perspective That Changes Everything

What do you do when life feels unfair, painful, or nothing like you expected? Sometimes the situation hasn’t changed—but changing your perspective can change how you walk through it. In this episode of HER Podcast, we continue the FOCUS Series by looking at one of Scripture’s clearest examples of biblical perspective: Joseph. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, imprisoned, and forgotten. He did what was right—and life still got harder. Yet years later, Joseph was able to look back and say: “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.” — Genesis 50:20 Joseph didn’t pretend the pain wasn’t real. He didn’t call evil good. He simply learned to see his circumstances through a bigger lens: God was still working even when Joseph couldn’t see what He was doing. And that same truth matters for us. If you’re walking through disappointment, rejection, waiting, loss, misunderstanding, or a season that simply doesn’t make sense, this episode is a reminder that the chapter you’re living in right now is not the whole story. We’ll talk about: • Why pain can distort our perspective• What Joseph teaches us about trusting God in hard seasons• Why doing the right thing doesn’t always make life easier• The difference between biblical perspective and fake positivity• How to stop asking only “Why me?” and begin asking “What now?”• Why feelings are real—but aren’t always reliable interpreters of reality• How God can use difficult seasons to build endurance, trust, and character• Four practical ways to shift your perspective this week Just because you don’t see God working doesn’t mean He isn’t. You can be shaken without being destroyed. You can grieve without losing hope. You can hurt without becoming hardened. You can wait without giving up. If this conversation encouraged you, share it with a woman who may need this reminder today and subscribe as we continue walking through the FOCUS Series together. You Can’t Fight Spiritual Battles on Empty | Scripture for Christian Women

Feeling spiritually weak, distracted, or inconsistent in your Bible reading? In this episode of the HER Podcast, Kristin Sampson explains how Scripture strengthens Christian women, exposes the lies we believe, and prepares us to face temptation with truth. Using Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness from Matthew 4, Kristin shows why Jesus did not wait until the battle began to decide what was true—the Word of God was already within Him. When pressure comes, what has been filling our hearts is often what comes out. You cannot starve your soul and expect spiritual strength. You cannot neglect truth and expect stability. God’s Word fills us, steadies us, corrects our thinking, and teaches us to recognize the difference between biblical truth and the lies promoted by fear, emotion, comparison, and culture. Kristin also shares four practical ways to develop a consistent Bible-reading habit: • Make Scripture part of your routine • Start small and read intentionally • Write down what God’s Word is teaching you • Share biblical truth with someone else Consistency matters more than perfection. Spiritual growth often happens through the quiet faithfulness of opening the Bible again and again—even when you are busy, tired, distracted, or unmotivated. When You're Exhausted, God Still Sees You | Exodus 3

Feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, mentally drained, or spiritually worn out? In this episode of The H.E.R. Podcast, Kristin Sampson begins the Focus Series by walking through Exodus 3 and the story of Moses and the burning bush. So many Christian women are carrying more than they were ever meant to carry. We try to hold everything together, think through every possible outcome, protect the people we love, and still somehow keep our peace. It’s exhausting. In this episode, Kristin reminds us that real faith is not about having the whole plan before we trust God. It’s about trusting His presence even when we do not have all the answers. Through Moses’ encounter with God in Exodus 3, this message offers biblical encouragement for the woman who feels tired, anxious, overwhelmed, and in need of peace. If you’ve been struggling with overthinking, fear, uncertainty, or the pressure to control everything, this episode will encourage you to refocus on the God who sees, hears, knows, and leads. In this episode, you’ll discover: • Why exhaustion often comes from trying to carry too much • What Moses and the burning bush teaches us about trust • Why God’s presence matters more than having a blueprint • How to stop spiraling and start focusing on God • 3 practical ways to refocus this week If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend and subscribe to The H.E.R.
