    Israel Connections: Michail & Melanie Bantseev - Learning the Language of Our Fathers

    Could the modern Jewish State of Israel have been born without the Hebrew language? Maybe, but what language would the Jews from many nations who returned to their homeland have chosen if not Hebrew? That’s why Eliezer Ben Yehuda labored for forty years to resurrect Hebrew as a modern language. Ben Yehuda lived to see Hebrew established as the language of what was then called British Mandatory Palestine in 1922. Today, Jewish people and their allies around the world continue to be blessed by the fruit of his Zionist vision. The vision of Ben Yehuda is what inspires Michail Bantseev with a similar vision for the returning House of Joseph. He and his wife Melanie started learning Hebrew soon after they were married, and now are raising their children to know the language of their fathers, both those of Judah and those of the scattered tribes of Joseph.  This scope of this vision extends far beyond the Bantseev family. That is why Michail has been teaching Hebrew for several years, and now offers classes for everyone from beginners to advanced students desiring to study the Bible in the original language, and to become conversant in the language of Israel.     Hanoch Young: High on the Har, part 4

    Does God make mistakes? If not, then why do some people say modern Jewish people are not the same as the Jews of the Bible? As Hanoch Young points out, if the Jews aren’t the real Jews, then God has brought the wrong people back to the land of Israel! That’s a key point in this concluding segment of our conversation with Hanoch about what the God of Israel is doing right now in fulfilling His promises to restore all of His people to the Promised Land. In a sense, Israel is a type of ark. So is Messiah. Like Noah’s Ark, both are vessels of rescue and redemption.     Hanoch Young: High on the Har, part 3

    Israel’s national elections are always complicated. Hanoch Young has participated in enough Israeli elections to know that there’s no way to please everyone with the political outcome. In this third part of our conversation, Hanoch shares his views on where previous Israeli governments have led the nation, and about what God is doing to advance His Kingdom purposes even when the politics seem to be going in the opposite direction. As he explains, Zion is the dividing line, both for Israel and for the world. Hanoch says that all Jewish Israelis are Zionists, even though they disagree on how to achieve the vision of Zionism. That’s an example of God’s people being united, but not uniform. This is what Barry Phillips and David Jones discuss in their midrash, “One Mind, One Purpose.” We hear this message expressed as well in the music of Ray Myers and Will Spires.     Hanoch Young: High on the Har, part 2

    Do we ever think about why we use particular words? For example, when referring to Jewish people living in the Jordan Valley, why do we call them settlers living in the West Bank? Why don’t we choose words that more accurately reflect who they are and where they live? If we did that, we would call them indigenous Judeans living in the communities of Judea and Samaria. This is more important than we may realize, as Hanoch Young explains as we continue our four-part conversation. In this second segment, Hanoch shares the story of how he came to understand that Christians who have come to love and identify with Israel and the Jewish people are part of the House of Joseph, or Ephraim, and that the long-promised restoration of Ephraim and reconciliation with Judah is at hand. We all have work to do in this process!       Understanding our Kingdom responsibilities is not a new concept for God’s people. It’s part of the relationship our Creator wants us to have with him.     Hanoch Young: High on the Har, part 1

    Does redemption happen all at once, or is it a process? And is there anything we can do to help that process along?  Hanoch Young would tell you that it is a process, and there are some things we should do as this process moves forward. That’s why he has just completed his twenty-eighth speaking trip to the United States since 2013, and why he ascends the Har Habayit – the Temple Mount – every week to pray at the site of God’s House of Prayer for all nations.  In this four part interview, Hanoch tells us about his most recent US tour, his perceptions of conditions for Jews in America, world-changing developments in Israel, and what is happening with the long-awaited reconciliation between the House of Judah and House of Joseph.  Why is there no Temple on the Temple Mount today?
