    Community Membership & Podcast Update

It’s been beautiful to start building up our small community here, and it’s also time for a change of home (and a new name). The reasons for this change are twofold - The first quite basic one is that Substack wasn’t the ideal place to host the kind of community we are building on a practical level. People weren’t always receiving notifications for posts and events happening. The second and most important is for ethical reasons. Principally that I don’t want to be processing payments through an organisation that is platforming Nazis… This may sound like I’m being hyperbolic but there are genuine Neo Nazi, white supremacist writers and fee charging publications that are making money and building their reach through Substack. I’ve linked to some articles here if you want to read more. And the third reason (okay three-fold…) which links to both previous reasons, is that I am so excited to have become a creator in The Portal Collective. The Portal is a beautiful project, creating a platform for creators and community builders that is founded on the principles of permaculture and values of social justice and community care. Sally the founder of The Portal, has been working tirelessly on this project, and has trusted a small group of us to work as pilot group. She is a specialist in interactive learning and community space building and I’m so thrilled to be working with her. (You can learn more about The Portal and Sally on this podcast episode) I’m so honoured to be part of the community and delighted to be moving our Community Membership over there - where it will become ‘The Mycelium’. So what will this look like? What will be the same? What will change? ‘The Mycelium’ Community Membership will include * Monthly Home Practice - A mix of prompts and resources drawing from somatics, mindfulness, nature connection, with space for sharing and connection with the community. * Monthly Community Connection Session (60 mins) - Gently facilitated monthly space to come together to connect around the previous month’s invitation. * Celtic Wheel Events (2 hours) - A space to come together to mark the Festivals of the Celtic Wheel of the Year. I will guide the group through invitations from nature connection, meditations, journaling and somatic exercises, and closing with a restorative EcoNidra™ Meditation. * Private podcast (NEW) - I am going to be moving my Celtic Wheel Podcasts episodes to become part of The Mycelium. These are personal, and it feels right to move them into our Community Space. This will still be on a tiered pricing scale, with free spaces available for anyone who needs them. Those who are already part of the Community Membership, I will be emailing you shortly with August’s Home Practice and Links and more details. I’m hoping to get The Mycelium up and running by the start of September. If you’d like to join us send me an email - harriet@tenderbeingwithharriet.com and I can add you to the waiting list. I will still be writing on Substack, creating non-Celtic Wheel podcast episodes, and engaging with our community here, whilst moving the Membership (now Mycelium) over to The Portal. Thank you for being part of this journey and community and I am excited to start this new chapter together. Warmest wishes, Harriet Hamid-Collett This is a public episode. Episode 9: Winter Solstice 2024

As I approached planning both this year’s live Winter Solstice session, as well as the prompts for this podcast, I decided to change things up a little. Previously I have focused on the concept of gratitude and tying this into the ‘feast of yule’ - feasting on our gratitude and letting it nourish us! But this year I felt much more drawn to a different invitation from this festival. The invitation of the darkness and stillness to acknowledge and accept ourselves just as we are. To stop striving for change and to try to access some tenderness and compassion for the parts of ourselves that we might leave in the dark or might strive to fix. Perhaps it’s the messy goo of the matresence period, or the dire state of the world, or a combination of all things, but this felt like the invitation that I wanted to give and meet. My hope is that by offering this invitation, we might start to embrace more of the parts of us that don’t seem so shiny. The parts that are real and deserve acceptance and grace. As always, I’ve included the prompts below if you would like to use them in whatever way makes sense to you. Please do feel free to comment below if you’d like to share anything that comes up for you as you go through them. Warmest wishes to you Prompts: * I will offer myself grace when… * I want to invite in compassion for… * I hold tenderly the part of myself… * I understand why I… Tender Being with Harriet Hamid-Collett is a reader-supported publication.
