    Episode 118 "Don't Worry, Girlie"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, we review three letters that Sweetie wrote in August 1952 and September 1952.  In the first letter, Sweetie writes to her sister, Jeanne, giving her advice on various aspects of married life, and in the second letter, she writes the same day to the rest of the family.  We learn more about her brother-in-law's wife, Marguerite, who had been away that summer visiting her mother in Doucette, Texas.  Finally, in the third letter (that she writes to her sister, Jeanne), we learn that her son, Lewis, has resumed school in the fall, starting the second grade.     Episode 117 "Wistful House"

    Episode 116 "Your Ears Are Too High Anyway"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, we review two letters that Sweetie wrote at the end of July 1952 and the beginning of August 1952.  Sweetie writes of her day-to-day life in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and notes some information about the Democratic National Convention that summer that she and her family (as well as Miss Darst) are watching on their television.  There are some comedic moments from some dialogue that Sweetie recounts from both her son, Lewis, as well as Miss Darst, and it is the latter's comment that provides the name for this episode!     Episode 115 "So I Write, Now Will I Hear?"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode are four pieces of correspondence from the end of June and the beginning of July 1952.  In these, Sweetie provides updates about her life in Doylestown and her son, Lewis, passing the first grade.  Sweetie eagerly anticipates the arrival of her parents from Iowa, and continues to make plans for their visit, and also talks about what the family did during the 4th of July holiday that year.  She also writes of the start of her family's work on the exterior of their house at 363 North Main St.  Images of the photos discussed in this episode can be found at this link: https://www.lovesweetiepodcast.com/sweetieat363nmainst Sweetie writes much in this letter about her family and about missing her family, and she continues to hope to get to see her family members and hear from them, since they are far away from her in the Midwest.     Episode 114 "Decoration Day"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, two of Sweetie's letters are reviewed from June 5 and June 7, 1952.  In these, Sweetie provides updates about her life in Doylestown and the end of the school year for her son, Lewis, who is finishing first grade at the Doylestown Public School in town.  She writes more about her gardening and her activities going to various sales, and then she also writes about Decoration Day (the former name for Memorial Day) and how she teaches Lewis about what the day means, not just for her family, but for the country.     Episode 113 "Are You Man or Mouse?"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, Sweetie finally answers the questionnaire that her father, Chester, had sent to her at least a couple of months earlier.  In this questionnaire she answers basic questions about her life in Doylestown, and her responses paint a picture of the town in the early 1950's.  She then writes a smaller letter to the rest of the family, noting that her husband, Lew, is likely to be away on a cruise for the U.S. Navy in Massachusetts that summer, and she tries to make more plans for her parents to visit.     Episode 112 "Like A Dragon"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, Sweetie writes to her family two letters from late May and early June 1952.  She recounts her attempt to get her roof fixed, as the company that had supposedly fixed it some time earlier had not done a complete job.  Her interaction with the men at the roofing company surprises them, and they agree to return to fix their earlier work.  Sweetie also writes of plans for her parents to visit the family in Doylestown, but does not know when they might do so.  And once again, Sweetie gets into the poison ivy on her property... In this episode we also discuss the division between West and East Germany in 1952, and talk about the progress of the Cold War.
