    Episode 130 "Bean Candy"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, we review three pieces of correspondence from February 1953.  Two of the letters are from Sweetie, and she notes that there was a special presentation by Lewis' elementary school class at the Doylestown Public School to celebrate George Washington's Birthday, and she provides updates on various matters at home, but in the end is concerned about her mother's health and confides in her sister and brother-in-law about that.  In these letters, we also hear more about Sweetie's early life, and she describes some pictures, a few of which have survived and are discussed.  The photos that are discussed can be found on this page: https://www.lovesweetiepodcast.com/the-demaree-family-1940-s-and-earlier The third letter is from Sweetie's father, Chester, who is describing life that winter in Lacona, Iowa.  He writes of everyday life, but also reveals that his health is not the best at this time.     Episode 129 "The Diamond Ring"

    Welcome to the Love Sweetie Podcast!  In this episode, we review two letters that Sweetie wrote at the end of January 1953.  This episode features Sweetie, Lew, and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth, attending an auction sale that month around Norristown, Pennsylvania, in which Lew purchases a diamond ring... and hopes that the ring has a real diamond.  In the second letter, Sweetie provides some more insight as to the recent Presidential Inauguration of Eisenhower and more activities at home in Doylestown, Pennsylvania as she corresponds with her family in Iowa.     Episode 123 "Dinner At the Base on Thanksgiving Day"
