    Make It Make Sense!

Fourteen charged at Penn State over frat house cocaine, and it turned into twenty minutes on what these organizations actually are. Plus Fox putting Jalen Hurts at number one, and Kawhi's tree money.(00:33) The ex who said she made more money than me. James tried to hang up. He was not allowed to hang up.(03:10) Either Or. Erase every song released after December 31st, 2010, or erase every movie and TV show after the same date. No Drake, no Kendrick, no Cole, no Summer Walker, no Taylor Swift — or no Avengers, no Black Panther, no Get Out, no Django, no Creed, no Game of Thrones, no Breaking Bad, no Walking Dead, no Stranger Things, no Power.(18:50) I might have joined the wrong organization. Fourteen charged at Penn State, two fraternity houses — Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi — cocaine distribution, and reporting that bagging up was part of a pledge process. Runs to Philly and New York, the satellite campuses, and four current students among them.(27:43) Why does anybody join at 18? Stomp The Yard, throwing the parties, taking over the school — and the honest part underneath: the jobs, the connections, the man in another city who gives you the opportunity over somebody else.(39:38) Eagles preseason. 159 total yards, six first downs, 0-for-9 on third down, three three-and-outs. (48:37) Eagles-Patriots joint practice. AJ Brown one-on-one, Riq Woolen and Romeo Doubs, pressure up the middle on Drake Maye, and the defensive line without its edge rusher.(50:41) The Fox Sports list. Most under pressure in 2026, by Eric Williams and Bucky Brooks. Jalen Hurts at one, Lamar at two, Travis Hunter at five, Tua on there — and no Josh Allen, no Joe Burrow, no Dak Prescott, no Marvin Harrison Jr.(1:07:15) Kawhi, Ballmer and the trees. ESPN reported no wrongdoing; the league said the investigation isn't concluded. In plain terms: money into a company, that company pays the player, the cap never sees it. Ballmer says he got scammed. Pablo Torre says there's more coming.(1:13:48) Sixers went from 14 nationally televised games to 34. Then the Lakers argument — Bron, Luka, Christmas Day, and who's slapping who around.(1:17:45) Nipsey Hussle's Prolific. Recorded with Bino around the Victory Lap sessions — real verses, no AI. Leon Thomas, Cardi B, Static Major, James Fauntleroy, Ty Dolla $ign. The songs that made the playlist: Reckless, Sacrifices, 500 Horses, Make Me Believe, Just Like Me Interlude, Super Real, Vibe With Me, I Just Wanna Know.TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!! FOLLOW!!! Day One

First video episode. Lane Johnson's retiring, KD says the Sixers can't touch his Warriors, and Chris talks about what happened when Camden police stopped his 15-year-old walking home from the store. Quill, Chris and James. New this week: an N-word bank — a dollar every time one of us slips. (01:32) The bank is open. How it works, who the money goes to, and why we're doing it. Also gas prices — $4.99 somewhere on the way to Philly, and Jersey under four. (04:14) Either Or #1. Your phone goes live for 30 minutes while you're talking crazy about everybody, or every text you typed and decided not to send goes out to the person you wrote it to. James and Chris split. Put yours in the comments. (09:31) Either Or #2. (14:55) Lane Johnson is retiring after this season. Fourth overall in 2013, 168 games, six Pro Bowls, two first-team All-Pros, two rings, the only offensive lineman in franchise history with multiple Super Bowl titles. Then the question: which NBA player is he? Chris says Giannis, James says Tim Duncan, and that turns into a whole thing. (18:24) Eagles win total is 10.5. No homer answers. Over or under with Lane, Kelce and AJ Brown gone. (19:34) China restricted AI companion apps. A woman exchanged 700,000 words with an AI boyfriend and what upset her was not getting to say goodbye. People building bots of dead relatives, teenagers with AI friends, and whether a relationship you can't be ghosted by is a relationship at all. Then: how none of us want ChatGPT talking back like us. (26:55) Ben Simmons back to the Sixers? Chris says it wouldn't be the worst thing. James says go fishing. Also whether Embiid should have thrown him under the bus in that press conference. (30:59) Kevin Durant says the Sixers can't touch his Warriors team. We read the whole tweet. He named Klay's numbers, named Draymond's numbers without naming Defensive Player of the Year, and left himself off the list entirely. Bron, Joel, Maxey, VJ Edgecombe — prime versus not-prime is the actual argument. (36:07) Opening night. Thunder-Spurs then Sixers-Knicks. Two bands to get in the building, and the seat map is comedy. Plus what FanDuel is about to make. (39:26) Quick NBA news. Kawhi reportedly to Toronto, Harden's charge dismissed, and R.I.P. Brandon Clarke and Don Nelson — the We Believe Warriors, and the first coach to have Dirk and Steve Nash. (41:35) Olivia Miles is a problem. Been on her since Notre Dame. Then the W: A'ja Wilson at minus-600 for MVP with four already, voter fatigue, Caitlin Clark's numbers, Aliyah Boston, Napheesa Collier, and expansion teams in Cleveland, Detroit and Golden State — plus why they can't reuse the old names. (49:11) Camden police stopped Chris's son. Walking home from the store. One car became four or five. Handcuffs, then driven home to his mother. What she said to the one Black officer on scene. Then the talk Chris had with him — the hoodie in 90-degree weather, complying, and getting home. This one's heavy and we let it be heavy. (01:01:02) Culture Check. Lil Uzi Vert's Maverick Almost Forever — eight tracks, real Uzi vibes if you're a fan. Pooh Shiesty's album, made in a two-month window, and the entertainment-purposes-only disclaimer that fools nobody. Plus Young Dolph, and a Philly girl's opinion of Reading. (01:05:51) Raising Kanan series finale. Is Kanan one of the worst people ever put on TV? Raq, Marvin, Juke, Breeze, Ghost in the room. Joffrey from Game of Thrones as the only real competition. And the Power Origins show coming with young Ghost, Tommy, Tasha and Angela. (01:11:00) House of the Dragon finale. They told us it was the series finale and that wasn't true. Aegon becoming a man, Aemond being nothing without Vhagar, Daemon showing up exactly like we thought, and Helaena on why she never wanted to ride. (01:14:00) Spider-Man. Chris still hasn't seen it. Quill watched the whole thing on TikTok and argued with comic guys in the comments about it. (01:16:27) A PCP story. He shot himself in the foot with a .357 because his feet were talking to him. Stay away from drugs, kids. (01:21:33) Either Or #3.  TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!! FOLLOW!!!  IG: @outsidelookinginpod  TikTok: @outsidelookinginpodcast2 👂 Tap in. Share it. Tell a friend.

    Mr. Tiger

We went through everything actually known about the Nolan Wells case before anybody's opinion. Then the Big Tigger video, Terrion Arnold, the NBA betting mess, and a Brown for a Brown. Cold open this week — no intro, straight in. Quill, Chris, and James(LB). (00:02) The Nolan Wells case. Laying out the timeline before any of us gives an opinion: July 4th, Horn Island, the friends leaving, him staying behind to talk to a girl, the phone that ended up at his mother's house, and where he washed up. What's fact, what's reported, and what people are filling in themselves. (11:40) Defending the friends. There is a version of this where four kids who grew up together were just friends, and we make that case honestly before considering anything else — including whether we'd let our own kid take that trip. (18:43) Everything it could have been. He could have drowned. Somebody could have seen it and turned their head. Somebody could have made a phone call. We walk each possibility instead of picking one, and we say plainly which parts are speculation. (21:52) What an autopsy can and can't tell you. The family ordered a private one. Why "no blunt force trauma" wouldn't settle it for us. (24:57) Mr. Tigger. Big Tigger, Rap City, twenty-plus years on the radio, and the video everybody's seen. We react to it, we get into what it looks like versus what it's being called, and we split on it. Also: why the kid behind the camera kept saying the radio name. (33:50) What came out afterward. Reporting on the woman in the video and an unrelated 2019 case in Maryland, and what that changes about how the video reads. Plus Tigger stepping away from the show, and whether he comes back from this. (44:34) Terrion Arnold got released by the Lions. Reportedly around $250,000 taken from an Airbnb, and what he's alleged to have done about it. Man law versus a $40 million second contract. Nobody at the table agrees. (53:35) The NBA betting mess. Malik Beasley, Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups, and Jontay Porter as the precedent. The Charlotte-to-Miami trade nobody wants to explain. Then the real argument: can the league ban you if the courts don't convict you? Pete Rose, deflategate, and whether the integrity of the game actually moves a single betting dollar. (01:07:01) A Brown for a Brown. Jaylen Brown to Philly, AJ Brown to New England, and it feels like a trade. Why Philly is going to love Jaylen the way it loved Allen Iverson, why AJ is free game, and why Jaylen should stop telling people he and AJ are related. Plus Boston, Bill Russell, Kyrie, and the night we watched a whole city shut down at midnight. (01:13:39) Streamer University. Kai Cenat!!!. Adin Ross, IShowSpeed, N3on, RaKai, Queen Naija, Skai Jackson, Ben the Don, India Love. Most of the people you think are big are running two or three hundred viewers until Kai walks in the room. (01:23:56) Summer League and LeBron. Vegas starts this week. Cleveland, Philly or Miami — and if he lands here, what it actually does to this city. Sixers with Embiid, Maxey and VJ. Bron parties, ticket prices, and a bartender's read on which blocks make money. TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!! FOLLOW!!!  IG: @_alwaysaaron @outsidelookinginpod  👂 Tap in. Share it. Tell a friend.

    Things Change Fast

Chris Johnson has ALS at 39 and did the interview with his eyes. Plus the BET Awards, why Drake got robbed again, and what LaVar Ball's spoon video tells you about the Tina split. (08:05) Stop rewriting history. A conversation with an old friend who kept revising events we were both there for — and admitted mid-conversation that he doesn't mean what he says. We're at the age where we just look things up now. (10:45) New music. KWN's album All Pride Aside — going to be a conversation in two or three months, trust us. Plus Lo Shimmy, Benny the Butcher's Plugs I Met 2.5, and T.I.'s new project with the Jeezy verse on it. (15:06) BET Awards 2026: Druski ran it. The Christian Louboutin bit, the Ray J moment, the Jay-Z lean, and getting a room to laugh at Hov without glazing. He dropped two skits mid-show. Keke Palmer, respectfully, we're not going to agree. (22:01) Kendrick Lamar won Best Male Hip Hop Artist without an album since GNX. Going down the nominee list — ASAP Rocky, Baby Keem, BigXthaPlug, Don Toliver, Drake, J. Cole, T.I. Drake dropped Iceman. Drake hasn't won in six years. Do the math. (25:05) Every other category. Cardi B, Clipse taking Best Group and Album of the Year, Chains & Whips with Kendrick for Best Collaboration, Leon Thomas over Usher and Bruno Mars and Chris Brown, Kehlani for Best Female R&B, Olivia Dean for Best New Artist, Teyana Taylor twice. Our disagreement: Album of the Year should have been Leon Thomas. (29:55) Yung Miami's song, and India.Arie's problem with it. The crowd sang every word when Caresha walked out. India.Arie posted that the song's mass acceptance points to something bigger. Rate it one to ten. Chris says three. Quill says nine. Neither of us moves. (38:36) Daphne Joy and Akademiks. He picked her up on a PJ. Say what you want — that's a step. (43:55) Chris Johnson has ALS. CJ2K, one of the fastest men to ever touch a field, diagnosed at 39 and now speaking through his eyes. His interview with Michael Strahan, his wife Brittany, and the doctor who was willing to try something experimental after the first team told them to get their affairs in order. (48:30) They came for Strahan and they were wrong. Football players carry a significantly higher risk of this. Also: the device is running his actual voice, and it's the best use of AI either of us has seen. (55:45) LaVar Ball and Tina. He lost his leg. She had a stroke years back. Now they've split, and LaVar says she wanted to do something else. Our read: nobody left anybody — she came to him with a change of program, and he took it. Then we play the spoon video, and the question becomes how he was talking when he still had two feet. (01:14:16) The World Cup fans. We're not here for the football. (01:17:00) House of the Dragon — full spoilers. Episodes one and two are in a flow state. R.I.P. Jace. Sheepstealer going wild, Rhaenyra, Daemon, Baela and Rhaena, Corlys and the storyline that needs to move to his kids, Aegon fleeing, Alicent Hightower and Helaena getting caught, Aemond looking like he only fights people who don't want to fight, and Larys doing what a Varys always does. (01:30:20) Raising Kanan. Lou died in the first two minutes and nothing's happened since. Juke going to the police, Breeze, and when Ghost finally shows up. The Knicks won it all and New York lost its mind. Plus R.I.P. Tay Keith at 29, why we'd cut a friend off over drugs, and the K2 story Chris had never heard. (01:19) The Knicks are champions. We were going to do a full hour on it and immediately decided against it. What New York fans said publicly this week cannot be repeated. (05:05) Victor Wembanyama was underwhelming. No sky hook at 7'6". Nothing Jamal Crawford taught him. And a Western Conference Finals version of himself that never showed up for the Finals. (06:41) Jalen Brunson is not better than Allen Iverson. Does a ring settle it? The winning slider argument, AI's 50 against prime Shaq and Kobe, and where JB actually sits. Plus his two Villanova titles and why Philly won't go too hard at him. (11:51) Where Wemby really ranks. Going name by name: Shai, Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Tatum, Jaylen Brown, KD, a 41-year-old LeBron. He's not top five. (13:17) Dylan Harper passed the test. The rookie showed out on the world stage, De'Aaron Fox didn't, and Stephon Castle's two-point close-out game. Without those two, where is Victor? (15:49) The Karl-Anthony Towns matchup. Why we told people to take KAT for Finals MVP, and what he did to Wemby that Jokic wouldn't. (20:55) R.I.P. Tay Keith, 29. Then the harder conversation: fentanyl is in everything, and whether you're allowed to cut a friend off over their addiction. We land in different places on that one. (28:01) Happy Juneteenth. What the drugs actually cost — what you could pick up as a kid before you started, and why waiting until you were grown was the play. (36:13) The Tay Keith run. Going through the catalog — Drake, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Sexyy Red — because you already know these records even if you didn't know the name. (49:36) The K2 story. 2011. Millersville. Three girls, some legal weed from the market, and the top of the football bleachers. A woman told me not to hit it like it was Mary Jane. I told her not to tell me how to smoke. (01:01:12) Happy Father's Day. Chris on having no smoke with either of his kids' mothers, and the actual reason: don't be mixy. (01:12:16) Back the other parent's punishment. Even when they're wrong. Plus: why meeting in the middle is overrated, and how nobody wanted brownies. TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!!  FOLLOW!!!  IG: @_alwaysaaron @outsidelookinginpod  👂 Tap in. Share it. Tell a friend.

    Cases on Cases

Two verdicts, two dead kids, two very different outcomes. We went through the Karmelo Anthony trial testimony line by line, then the Rick Chow acquittal — and one of these is not like the other. No intro, no segments this week. Straight in. (04:09) Why we're doing it this way. Setting the table on both cases, and being upfront that race is a factor in both whether you like the verdicts or not. (06:26) How does a track meet end in a body? Neither of us can get from "it started raining, he walked under a tent" to somebody losing their life. That gap never closes. (07:52) To white listeners, then to black listeners. The part about being asked what you're doing somewhere — driving through the wrong neighborhood, delivering for Amazon in uniform, still getting the cops called. Then the harder half: we can't respond to individual situations when the consequences are macro. R.I.P. Austin Metcalf. (12:40) Reacting to a reporter who was actually in the room. No cameras were allowed in the trial, so we went through a courtroom correspondent's account of the defense's case rather than a cable news summary. (16:23) The witness who changed his story. A student admits his account shifted after meeting with prosecutors. We stopped it right there. (20:01) "The story is the story." Every student witness — prosecution and defense both — testified to the same core detail. So how does he win? (27:34) The Eddie problem. The friend Karmelo was supposedly there to see says on the stand they weren't really close. Then the defense produces eight or nine photos, including birthday parties at Eddie's house. (33:24) Was he even supposed to be there? Testimony says he was an alternate on the 4x100 and scheduled for a jump. Also: Centennial was the only team out there without a tent. (35:35) What actually happened under the tent. The escalation as the witnesses described it, Austin Metcalf and his brother Hunter, and the moment the whole case turns on. (41:40) Stop saying the white boy was bigger. Neither of us thinks the size argument holds up, and we say why. (44:52) The misinformation on both sides. The bullying story people ran with that testimony doesn't support — and what it costs us when we believe things because they benefit us. (48:38) Now the clear injustice: Rick Chow. 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton, shot in the back outside a Columbia, South Carolina convenience store in 2023. Acquitted of murder this month. (49:44) The facts of the case. The prosecution's argument, the defense's argument, Andy Chow, and the central dispute over whether Cyrus ever pointed a gun. (53:25) Going through the store video. He picked up waters. He put them back. Nothing was stolen — that isn't in dispute. What is: why an entire family chased a 14-year-old a hundred yards over three dollars of water. (59:38) Murder vs. manslaughter. Why the charge they brought may be the reason he walked. (01:02:50) The part nobody wants to hear. People who can explain in detail why they're stuck but won't sit still for five minutes of a solution — and get offended when you offer one. (01:06:19) What 35 years actually costs. Nobody who's done it stands on it. The temperature of the water. The birthdays. Chris calling somebody from Jamaica just so he could bring him along for a minute. (01:09:04) Charles Oakley, James Dolan, and where you're allowed to be. If I paid to be there, I'm not leaving. (01:11:36) R.I.P. Cyrus. Protect these kids. Even if a kid is stealing from you — that's what cops and laws are for. Leave them alone. (01:12:22) Closing it out. Race, proximity, and how rarely anybody actually sits down with somebody who doesn't look like them. Plus: why you don't get to decide who somebody else is allowed to love. 🎵 Intro: Kendrick Lamar, with clips from Louis Farrakhan, Jay-Z and Charleston White  TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!!  FOLLOW!!!  IG: @_alwaysaaron @outsidelookinginpod  👂 Tap in. Jay-Z ran two hours at Roots Picnic and settled the GOAT argument for us. Plus the Diddy tape, Wemby putting hands on Jalen Brunson, and why AJ Brown lost the room. (04:42) Back outside. Breaking down the intro track — a Pedro Giovanni "Can't Stop the Reign" freestyle — and why Detroit forefathers like him shaped Tee Grizzley. (10:21) Chris came back from Jamaica. Immigration lines vs. Mexico, an hour-and-45 from anything, why the food was mid, and the argument about whether a resort you never leave even counts as travel. (17:52) Roots Picnic 2026 — Hov ran it. 80,000 people in a park built for 50,000. Questlove on drums, Jazmine Sullivan on the Frank Ocean parts, Meek Mill outside, Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek in the air, and the freestyle that took shots at Nicki Minaj, Dame Dash, Tony Buzbee and Drake. Day two had Erykah Badu and Fantasia and still didn't touch it. (~24:00) Jay-Z vs Drake, for real this time. The Funk Flex phone. Whether a writer counts as a rapper. Why Drake's Iceman only got run on vacation. LeBron and Jordan get pulled into it. Nobody's changing the rules now. (31:22) No Diddy. Reacting to the leaked footage with Diddy and Daphne Joy — what it says about the courtroom testimony, and where Cassie, Yung Miami and Justin Combs land in all of it. (38:44) "She woulda got me." Daphne Joy's hour-and-fifty with DJ Akademiks, the question Akademiks actually asked her, her answer, and what 50 Cent said about the whole thing. (48:56) Knicks vs Spurs, and it's a series. Wemby snuffing Jalen Brunson, Stephon Castle trucking people, and whether New York has anybody on the bench willing to answer. Dylan Harper, Carter Bryant, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mitchell Robinson, Landry Shamet, Jordan Clarkson, Miles McBride. (51:33) Draymond Green weighs in. What he says he'd have done, why Steph Curry is the comparison, and Josh Hart getting name-checked. Then: is that mentality worth a suspension? (~57:00) New York is wilding. Fans getting jerseys ripped in Times Square, the police letting it ride, and a hard rule about what you can and can't wear right now. (01:02:09) Bird Talk: AJ Brown is a hoe. The Haason Reddick situation underneath all of it, why Jalen Hurts didn't say anything, the media leaks, and the Photoshop with a jersey that didn't exist yet. Plus Shady McCoy on whether AJ was anything before Philly. (01:11:23) What's actually worth watching. Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man, House of the Dragon, Raising Kanan, Mortal Kombat, Scary Movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Dune. How they bring Tony Stark back is the whole question. (01:15:06) The Hov album watch. Two new dates, SoFi October 23rd, and the theory that the locks coming out means the album is done. 🎵 Intro Song: Pedro Giovanni — "Can't Stop the Reign" freestyle  TAP IN AND DOWNLOAD!!  FOLLOW!!!  IG: @_alwaysaaron @outsidelookinginpod  👂 Tap in.
