    Off the Shelf | The Audacity Is Fictional, the Judgement Is Not: AITA Book Club Edition

    Hey, readers, this week we're having a little fun and finally asking the question that has been haunting readers since the dawn of fiction: Am I the A*****e? Well, more importantly, is my favorite character the a*****e? We're putting some of our favorite—and most questionable—fictional characters on trial and examining their crimes against common sense, relationships, morality, and occasionally just basic human decency. Who's actually the villain? Who's just a little morally gray? Who made one questionable decision and deserves a little grace? And who needs to be launched direction into the fictional equivalent of the comment section? We're reading the allegations, examining the evidence, and handing out our completely unsolicited verdicts. Because apparently loving a fictional character means we're also legally obligated to defend their terrible decisions. It's time for our "Okay, but hear me out..." What do you think? Rhys has finally made his mark on the narrative (and more importantly, Feyre) by bargaining for Feyre’s life. He’s betting on her ability to win this, but what do you think?     ACOTAR: Chapters 25-36 | Sorry, Tamlin, Rhys Just Walked In

    Hey, listeners, This week, Feyre is settling into life in the Spring Court, celebrating the Summer Solstice, and maybe...getting a little too comfy. Because sure enough, in walks that hot guy from Calanmai, and Feyre is shocked to find out, he's the High Lord of the Night Court, Rhysand. Tamlin promptly sends her back across the wall, and Feyre does what she does naturally. She ignores his instructions and goes right back. Because that's perfectly reasonable right? There a lot of music going on in this section. And a lot of...dates. And what the hell is up with Tamlin? He's throwing temper tantrum...and why oh why didn't we see this before? But we also venture Under the Mountain, where Feyre finds herself face-to-face with...a different kind of action. And of course, we have thoughts...because we always do. But what about you?     ACOTAR: Chapters 12-24 | Calanmai Is Here & Nothing Is Sacred

    Hey, listeners. Things are getting very fairy in the Spring Court. In this week's reading, Feyre has officially entered her "ignore every warning, break every rule, and somehow still survive" era. She hunts the Suriel, gets suspiciously cozy with Tamlin, and then wanders aimlessly into a magical sex festival she was VERY specifically told to avoid. But then again, why is everyone withholding vital information that could literally save Feyre from herself? What the hell is going on with that magical swimming pool? And why did we forget all about Tamlin's almost strip tease? Also Rhys finally enters the chat. And things are about to get VERY interesting. What are y'alls thoughts on the infamous Calanmai scene?
