S2 Ep 11 - A Legacy of Opportunity through Education with Zeba Ahmad

Over the course of the Our Work podcast, I've had the opportunity to sit down with some truly exceptional leaders. People who have built successful businesses, and created meaningful impact in their communities. But every once in a while, you meet someone whose leadership is focused on something even bigger. Today's guest is one of those leaders. Zeba Ahmad has built an impressive career spanning healthcare, business, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector. But what stands out most is the clarity of her purpose. Zeba has dedicated herself to expanding opportunity for education for children and families, driven by a strong belief that where a child starts in life should not determine where they finish. As CEO of the Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation, she has become a tireless advocate for literacy, educational access, and creating the conditions that help every child succeed. Whether championing initiatives like full time kindergarten or bringing together partners around complex challenges, Zeba has consistently focused on removing barriers and opening doors. What I appreciate about Zeba's leadership is that it goes well beyond advocacy. She has a unique ability to connect people around a shared purpose, navigate difficult conversations, and turn ideas into action. The impact of her work can be seen throughout Saskatchewan and in the lives of countless children and families. I'm excited for you to hear her story, the leadership lessons she's learned along the way, and the conviction that continues to fuel her work every day.

S2 Ep 9 -Redefining Leadership – Women, Connection & Impact with Stephanie Pocha

New episode of Our Work out today: Redefining Leadership – Women, Connection & Impact. In this episode, I sit down with Stephanie Pocha — CEO of Discover Saskatoon, storyteller, and passionate community leader — for a honest conversation about what leadership means for women.  We talk about leadership, relationships, pressure, and purpose — and how women can reshape leadership by choosing collaboration over competition. Topics we explore: ·        Unique experiences for women in leadership ·        The missing variable - connection to ourselves, each other and nature ·        The “viper theory” — how scarcity affects women’s dynamics at work ·        The solution - from “me vs. you” to “us together” ·        The hardening that happens in leadership — the importance of staying open  ·        Regenerative economics and building systems that heal ·        Real partnership and sacred masculinity ·        Gratitude for pressure — and letting it break us open ·        Downtown revitalization and community storytelling One of my favorite quotes from Steph: “Pressure is a gift... I hope these pressure-filled, fractured environments enable a place for me to exist that continues to break me open.” Filmed: June 2025 Note: The ideas shared here are my own and may not necessarily reflect the views of any organization I am affiliated with.
