In this message from our Letters to the Churches series, Dan Romp explores Jesus’ letter to the church in Pergamum in Revelation 2. Pergamum had an impressive “A side”: despite intense cultural pressure and persecution, they remained faithful to Jesus. Yet Jesus also saw their “B side” — compromise that was beginning to take root within the church. Don’t Lose Your First Love | Revelation 2:1–7

What happens when a church is doing all the right things… but has lost its first love? ❤️ In the second message of our Letter to the Churches series, Ben Martin takes us to Revelation 2 and Jesus’ message to the church in Ephesus. Jesus commends them for their deeds, hard work, perseverance, commitment to truth and willingness to endure hardship. They were a faithful and discerning church — yet something crucial had been lost. 💔 “You have forsaken the love you had at first.” This is a powerful reminder that we can be busy serving Jesus, defending truth and persevering through difficulty, while allowing our love for Jesus and for one another to grow cold. But Jesus doesn’t simply point out their failure — He shows them the way back: remember, repent and return to the things you did at first. As we hear what the Spirit says to the church in Ephesus, may we also ask: Have I lost my first love?
