    Pint of Perspective, Season 2 Episode 7: National Inclusion Week 2025

    National Inclusion Week takes place every September and is a time for us all to celebrate inclusion and take action to build inclusive workplaces   This year’s theme is ‘NOW IS THE TIME’ and we want to elevate voices from across our business and bring even more energy and enthusiasm into our conversations about inclusion.   At Greene King, it’s also a reminder that Inclusion is, and remains, important and we want it to be the way we do everything, not just a thing we do. All of us need to work towards everyday inclusion - even more so now, in this time of such polarised views.

    Pint of Perspective, Season 2 Episode 6: Si, Luke and Zara

    In this episode, we speak to Si, Luke, and Zara about how they embraced an inclusive culture within their team when they used to work together and how it has supported their own careers.  As well as talking about how Luke the manager of the team at the time fostered an inclusive culture in their team, Zara and Si also share their own experiences of being part of the lgbtqia+ community and Luke talks about growing up and working with Dyslexia.

Maddie has now been with Greene King for over a year and a half but originally joined through our Mencap Programme. We discuss with Maddie her experiences of joining Greene King through the social mobility program and how it has helped her grow her confidence and become a core member of her pub team.

    On this episode we speak to Alice, co-chairperson of Village Greene—the employee led inclusion group (ELIG) that supports the LGBTQ+ people at Greene King.    As well as telling us about her LGBTQ+ activism both in an outside of work, Alice shares her experiences of coming out in less than favourable circumstances and the difference between the projected image of a more accepting society and the reality.   She also talks about her experiences of becoming a mum in a same-sex partnership and how she navigates attitudes towards that.    If you’re an LGBTQ+ person or advocate looking for an insight into how workplaces are becoming more inclusive, or if you want to know the real differences ELIGs can make, hit play and hear it from someone who’s in the driving seat of real change.
