Season 1 Episode 23 - Great Coaches and Scrapple!

The time has finally come—we're going to try scrapple live on the podcast! For those of you who have no clue what scrapple is, please don't look it up; trust us and give it a shot. We had the luxury of having a real East Coaster, Allie (Rene's wife), cook us scrapple flown in from Delaware. It has been built up this season, and it did not disappoint. We paired our scrapple offering with the always fantastic Pillsbury Toaster Strudel, strawberry-flavored. Parker may have invented a new breakfast sandwich in this episode... Have you ever heard a really motivational speech in person? The energy transference is palpable. There are often golden moments caught in between rounds during combat sports events involving fighters and their trainers. The relationship fighters have with their coaches often resembles a father-son relationship, and the microphones can pick up some compelling and rousing speeches. We listen to and talk about some of the greatest of these moments in the UFC and boxing. UFC 308 is this Saturday; we preview the card and make our predictions. Will Max Holloway regain his belt and place it alongside his BMF belt? Will Robert Whittaker stop the hype train and give Khamzat his first loss? Let us know your picks by calling us at (682) 294-0101 or emailing us at breakfastofchampspod@gmail.com.

Season 1 Episode 22 - Valhalla Rising and Bacon!

Hey champs—Parker is back! After a few episodes without him on the show, he’s returned, and it feels so right. Many of you have reached out about the Hormel x Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon, so we had to grab a pack to try. Rene fried it in a pan, like a real man should, and you'll have to tune in to hear our verdict. We also dug into a box of Monsters' Frightful Friends with all-new marshmallows! We recorded this episode on Indigenous Peoples' Day without realizing it, but the film we discussed was more than appropriate for the occasion. Valhalla Rising is a film by Nicolas Winding Refn that tells the tale of a Norse warrior who travels with a band of Christian Crusaders in search of the New Jerusalem. They find themselves in North America, surrounded by natives without the means to return home. We also discuss Nicolas Winding Refn's other films, which include Drive, Only God Forgives, and Bronson. We discuss and make our picks for UFC Fight Night: Hernandez vs. Pereira, which will take place at The Apex in Las Vegas this Saturday, October 19th. Most of the time, these non-PPV Fight Night cards, without the huge names of today's game, are some of the best cards to watch. We have enjoyed all the unexpected excitement and action—so tune in and enjoy it with us! As always, holler at us at (682) 294-0101 or breakfastofchampspod@gmail.com.

Season 1 Episode 21 -Abdul Razak Alhassan!

Thank you for joining us for this special coverage of UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Taira. We are blessed to be joined by UFC fighter Abdul Razak Alhassan! He will be taking on Josh Fremd this Saturday at The Apex in Las Vegas, NV—their fight kicks off the main card at 6 PM CST. We can hardly believe we are lucky enough to interview a UFC fighter, let alone during a fight camp, so lock in for this one and share it with a friend or two. Razak shares many stories about how martial arts changed his life and brought him from Ghana to the UFC. Following his passion for judo and chasing his dream, he has fought internationally and professionally as a combat sports athlete. As always, his openness really shines through as he discusses the significant role mental toughness plays in his sport. Kevan joined Rene, as he knows Razak from helping with his recovery at Fort Worth Float Company. We all met up early before training so Razak could get in some sauna and cold plunge sessions; he also reveals that he uses the sensory deprivation pods as well! As always, reach out to Kevan to book your very own services at FW Float—link to their website is below. We can't thank Razak enough for joining us; he truly is a friend of the show, and we will have him back on—preferably when he's not cutting weight—so we can enjoy some delicious food together. Please follow him on all social media platforms; we'll link his usernames below. Don't forget to tune in to UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Taira on ESPN+ this Saturday at 6 PM CST to catch Razak fight!Fort Worth Float Company Razak's Instagram Razak's X

    Season 1 Episode 20 - Allie Floyd!

Champs—sorry for the delay! We had some technical difficulties behind the scenes. This episode was up for a few hours this morning, but we finished the edit, and we're back up! Allie is Rene's wife, an ardent supporter of his creative endeavors and a great appreciator of breakfast foods. We discuss our favorite cereals while reviewing Oops! All Berries and the new Frosted Flakes with Marshmallows. Allie has an uncanny ability to read vibes and personalities, so make sure to tune in to her picks for UFC 307! We talk about the upcoming card, and she gives her snap decision on who will win. Place your bets! We have been teasing this episode for a while, but since Parker was unable to join us, we sadly did not get to the scrapple taste test. That just means Allie will return for a part two! As always, thank you for listening! Give us a holler at (682) 294-0101 or breakfastofchampspod@gmail.com.

Season 1 Episode 19 - Kelce Mix and Secret Societies!

Champions - have we got a banger of an episode for you! First, we got our hands on a box of Kelce Mix from those wacky folks over at General Mills. The Kelce Brothers have a podcast of their own, and on it, they ranked their favorite cereals. Word got out, and they were able to combine some of their favorites into one awesome mix. We tried it and ranked it, as we always do. Next, we celebrate the life and work of Bruce Willis while continuing our discussion on our favorite action/violent films. In true BoC fashion, we don't actually pick a "top 5"; we mainly just chat about our favorites and maybe some under-discussed picks. Which Die Hard do you prefer? Finally, our main topic of discussion this episode delves more into the spiritual realms of what some UFC fighters believe and what they associate themselves with. Have some UFC fighters gotten themselves into a cult? Are the current champions all Freemasons? Does any of this even matter or affect how you view this sport? If you'd like to contribute to this conversation, give us a call at (682) 294-0101 or shoot us an email at breakfastofchampspod@gmail.com—as above, so below... ;)

Season 1 Episode 18 - Cafecito and Noche UFC Recap!

This week we reviewed Cafecito's breakfast tacos and bottled lattes. We also gave our final thoughts on Noche UFC. We had to wrap up a little earlier than normal due to some behind the scenes activity. Enjoy!

Season 1 Episode 17 - Pearl Snap Kolaches and Noche UFC!

This week, we found ourselves back at the Fort Worth Float Company with our friend and "third co-host," Kevan O'Malley, to preview Noche UFC this weekend! The 2nd annual Noche UFC celebrates Mexico and Mexican combat athletes and will be held at Sphere in Las Vegas. We reviewed and enjoyed kolaches and klobasneks from Pearl Snap Kolaches in Fort Worth, TX. If you're a Texan, then you know all about what we're talking about. If you're in the west Fort Worth area for breakfast, be sure to stop in and give them a try! We briefly touch on and discuss a fun topic commonly referred to as the Conspiracy Iceberg. Some intriguing charts have been created that explore the lore of UFC/MMA conspiracies throughout the years. It's going to be a wild romp, but we are just getting started!

    Season 1 Episode 16 - Lucky Charms S'mores & Dreams!

We know we promised you an episode with our third co-host, Kevan. However, life had other plans for us, so we're presenting a BoC classic episode with no real plans other than eating breakfast and enjoying one another's company. Fret not; we plan to have Kevan on again very soon. I grabbed a box of Lucky Charms S'mores this past week and we gave it a shot on today's episode. Was it any good? Did they nail the s'mores flavor? You'll have to listen in for our rating. Do you ever remember your dreams? Our hosts recount some recent dreams they've had and discuss how strange our brains can be. We also talk about fighters realizing their dreams on Dana White's Contender Series. As always, we can be reached at (682) 294-0101 or breakfastofchampspod@gmail.com—holler at us!
