When the Way Out Is Through

What do you do when you’ve followed God—and the road ahead looks impossible? Israel had finally escaped Egypt, but freedom didn’t take them down the road they expected. God deliberately led them on the longer route until they found themselves with the Red Sea ahead, Pharaoh’s army behind, and seemingly nowhere to go. But what looked like a dead end became the place where God made a way. In “When the Way Forward Is Through,” Pastor Ruth continues The Storyline of Scripture through Exodus 13:17–14:31 and explores what the Red Sea teaches us about trusting God when His route doesn’t make sense, resisting the temptation to return to familiar bondage, knowing when to stand still and when to move, and taking the next faithful step before we can see the entire road. This is also a Communion Sunday, and we’ll share the Lord’s Supper together near the end of the message. If you’d like to participate, have something nearby to represent the bread and the cup. You don’t need special communion elements—come with a heart ready to remember Jesus and what He has done for us. In this message: Why God deliberately led Israel on the longer road Why difficulty doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve missed God How fear can make “Egypt” look better than it really was What “The LORD will fight for you” means Why God tells Israel both to stand still and to move How to trust God when the road hasn’t appeared yet How the Red Sea points forward to the greater deliverance accomplished through Jesus Communion and remembering Christ’s death and resurrection This week’s Big Idea: Sometimes God does not remove what stands in front of us. He makes a way through it. Your Pivot Point: Where are you demanding that God show you the entire road before you’re willing to trust Him with the next step? Remember: You don’t have to see the way when you know the One who makes the way. Next week: We continue into Exodus 15:1–21, where Israel finally stands on the other side of the sea and responds with worship. What do we do after God brings us through? Before the Breakthrough

Have you ever obeyed God only to watch your life become more difficult? That's exactly what happened to Moses. After finally saying "yes" to God's call, Moses expected deliverance—but instead Pharaoh increased the suffering of God's people. If you've ever wondered: • Why is life harder after I obeyed God? • Has God forgotten me? • Is opposition a sign I've missed God's will? This message will encourage you to trust God's promises even when you cannot yet see His plan. 📖 Scripture: Exodus 4:18–6:12 Download the FREE Pivot Point Church app for weekly messages, Bible studies, children's resources, prayer requests, and more. The Reluctant Rescuer

Have you ever felt like God could never use someone like you? Moses certainly did. Standing before the burning bush, Moses responded to God's call with excuse after excuse. "Who am I?" "What if they don't believe me?" "I'm not a good speaker." "Please send someone else." But God's answer never changed: "I will be with you." In this message from Exodus 3:11–4:17, we discover why God isn't looking for perfect people—He's looking for willing hearts. You'll also see how Moses points us to Jesus Christ, the greater Deliverer who perfectly obeyed where Moses hesitated. Whether you're struggling with fear, insecurity, past failures, or wondering if God could ever use someone like you, this message will encourage you to trust God's presence more than your own abilities. 📖 Scripture: Exodus 3:11–4:17 📱 Download the free Pivot Point Church app for this week's Continue the Story Companion, featuring a five-day devotional, discussion questions, and practical applications to help you continue growing all week. 💻 Join us every Tuesday at 7:00 PM Mountain Time for our live Zoom Bible Study. Failing into Calling

Have you ever felt like you ruined God's plan for your life? Maybe one decision still haunts you. Maybe you're living through a season that feels ordinary, lonely, or completely off course. If so, you're not alone. Moses knew exactly what that felt like. After one terrible mistake, he fled into the wilderness believing his future was over. But while Moses thought his life had become a failure, God was quietly preparing him for one of the greatest callings in history. In this message, we'll discover that God never wastes the wilderness. Your greatest disappointment may become the very place where God prepares you for His greatest purpose. As we continue our Storyline of Scripture series, we'll also discover how this story points beyond Moses to Jesus Christ—the greater Deliverer who came to rescue us from sin and invite us into God's presence. If you've ever wondered whether God can still use someone with your past, this message is for you. This ministry is made possible through the generosity of people like you.
