    In today’s episode, co-hosts, Don and Tam Bush, a husband and wife duo, kick off the first episode for The Selection Bias Podcast sharing their experiences as a multiracial couple, Jane Elliot’s social experiment, and an annual local city event called Bloomsday. Episode Resources Jane Elliot is an internationally known teacher, lecturer, and diversity trainer who performed “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise” with elementary students in 1968 as a response to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. It has been used many more times after due to its powerful message to experience being a minority. * Jane Elliott's "Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes" Anti-Racism Exercise on the Oprah Winfrey Show (1992) Bloomsday  Bloomsday is an annual 12k (~7.5 miles) race that beckons thousands to participate each May in Spokane, Washington.
