Your Legal Inheritance: Claiming the Peace of Christ

This powerful episode addresses the intense tension and anxiety permeating our world today, offering biblical solutions for maintaining peace amid chaos. Host Kristin Campbell acknowledges the reality of our heated cultural climate—the anger, offenses, and rage that erupt over minor issues—and shares her own struggles with losing peace and reacting in ways that don't reflect her true identity in Christ. Drawing from John 14:26-27, Kristin unpacks two transformative keys to walking in perfect peace. First, believers have been given the Holy Spirit as a permanent indwelling Helper, Comforter, Counselor, and Strengthener—a dramatic shift from Old Testament times when the Spirit only visited certain people at certain times. Second, Jesus legally bequeathed His very own peace to believers—not a replica or partial version, but the same complete peace He used while on earth in human form.  This episode emphasizes that this peace doesn't require divine powers because Jesus operated in it as a human, having emptied Himself of divine privileges. The key to activating Christ's peace lies in knowing who God is and taking Him at His word—a topic Kristin promises to explore deeper in upcoming episodes. Important Context: The world in Jesus's day was just as crazy (if not more so) than todayDon't romanticize the past—corruption, injustice, and chaos existed then tooJesus lived in a way that kept His peace, showing us we can tooThis isn't a one-and-done quick fixIt's developing and renewing your mind according to God's truthResults in lasting transformation when practiced consistentlyComing in Future Episodes: How to take God at His word in everyday circumstances Deep dive into all seven roles of the Holy Spirit More on walking in faithDownload FREE Reflection Guide at www.thekristincampbell.com Follow Kristin on Instagram @thekristincampbell

From False Imaginations to God's Truth: Reclaiming Your Minds Filter

Key Scripture References: Matthew 5 (Sermon on the Mount - as we think in our hearts, we are guilty)Proverbs 23:7 (As a man thinks in his heart, so is he)Proverbs 3:5 (Don't lean on your own understanding)Romans 12:2 (Be transformed by the renewing of your mind)Main Themes: How mental filters work and process informationThe danger of emotion-driven perceptionFeelings as signals vs. feelings as filtersCreating alternate realities through emotional filteringGod's Word as the ultimate truth filterBringing feelings to God for clarity and correctionUnderstanding Mental Filters: How Our Brains Process Information: Everyone has unique filters based on past experiences, beliefs, values, and learning stylesToo much data exists for conscious processing at any momentThe brain filters information by deleting, distorting, or generalizingThis happens constantly without our awarenessTwo people can experience the same event but have different recollectionsThe Problem with Emotion-Controlled Filters: Feelings delete key information that doesn't fit their narrativeEmotions distort facts to support how we feelFeelings create overgeneralizations based on incomplete dataThis leads to false assumptions treated as absolute truthWe end up in a "camp of false imaginations."The Solution - Three Steps: Step 1: Acknowledge Your Filters Recognize that mind filters existThey're doing their best but aren't perfectSwallow pride and admit there may be more to the storyYour assumptions might not be accurateStep 2: Remove Feelings from Control Feelings aren't designed to filter experiencesThey're actually horrible at this jobUse God's Word as your filter insteadGod's truth is absolute, unchanging, and not fickleTruth will tell you what you NEED to hear, not what you WANT to hearGod's truth should shake you up and make you wrestle at timesStep 3: Let Feelings Do Their Intended Job Feelings are a precious gift from GodTheir purpose: signal that something deeper needs attentionBring feelings to God for clarityLet Him show what needs attention, correction, or realignmentFeelings are real, but shouldn't filter experiencesProcessing Common Emotions with God: Jealousy: Signals: Desire for something you don't haveWrong response: Jealous rage or belittling othersGodly response: Ask the Lord what exactly you're jealous about, if it's good for His plan, and how to cultivate it (or why it arose if it's not for you)Anger: Signals: Belief that someone/something treated you wrongly or unfairlyWrong response: Lashing out, building a bitter caseGodly response: Ask if you've been wronged, if you have all the information, what the next step is, how to address it while honoring GodSadness: Signals: Belief that you've lost something important and valuableWrong response: Letting it overtake and spiral youGodly response: Ask for clarity on what you believe was lost, if it's truly gone, how God can comfort and redeem youAnxiety/Fear: Signals: Belief that you're in danger or facing a future threatWrong response: Spiraling quickly into worst-case scenariosGodly response: Ask if the threat is real or imagined, what exactly you're worried about, what truth to stand on, what steps return you to peaceKey Principles: Feelings make terrible filtersGod's Word is the best filter availableGod does not distort anything—He is truth, clarity, and orderGod's truth doesn't bow to your likes or opinionsGod's truth demands you rise up to holy standardsThis aligns perceptions, beliefs, and responses with ultimate truthResources Mentioned: Free reflection guide available at www.thekristincampbell.comFollow Kristin on instagram @thekristincampbell

All In: What It Really Means to Love God

Main Themes: The significance of the word "all" in loving God completelyRelationship over religious checklistOld Testament foundation, New Testament fulfillmentHonest self-examination of our love for GodThe rewards and promises for those who love God fullyLiving out love for God in everyday lifeFour Aspects of Loving God: 1. Loving God with All Your HEART: Self-assessment questions: Do I give the Lord my greatest attention?Do I give Him the first and best of me, or is He an afterthought? Is the Lord whom I'm going after above everything else?Is He ultimately my treasure and reward?Or am I chasing something else and adding His name to it?2. Loving God with All Your SOUL (Breath/Spirit/Essence): Self-assessment questions: Am I fully surrendered to God?Is my life fully His?Am I following His lead or going my own way?Am I using my gifts to bless Him and further His kingdom, or to bless myself and further my own?Am I walking in the good works He prepared, or my own works with a Christian umbrella?3. Loving God with All Your MIND (Deep Thoughts/Understanding): Self-assessment questions: Am I being intentional in understanding the Lord?Am I meditating on His word?Am I aligning my thoughts to His truth and taking thoughts captive?Or am I manipulating His truth to fit my life and preconceived notions?Am I seeking the Lord's wisdom or the world's wisdom?Am I applying what I learn, or just getting an initial high and forgetting it?4. Loving God with All Your STRENGTH (Enforcefulness/Intentional Power): Self-assessment questions: Do I fight to keep my love for the Lord?Or do I let it slide when times get tough?Do I give up on who He is and His promises?Am I paying attention to what He's doing in my life?Am I leaning on and trusting Him through difficult times?Key Promises for Those Who Love God: Perfect and constant peace (Isaiah 26:3)God's dwelling presence in our lives (John 14:23)All things working together for good (Romans 8:28)Blessings beyond human comprehension (1 Corinthians 2:9)Completion of the good work He began (Philippians 1:6)Important Clarifications: This isn't about earning God's love through a checklistWe're under the new covenant—Jesus died once for allIt's always been about relationship, not legalismThe relationship was broken in Eden and restored through ChristGod's love allows choice—He never forces us to love HimEvery choice has consequencesResources Mentioned: Free reflection guides available at www.thekristincampbell.comBi-weekly newsletter signup availablePast podcast episodes are also accessible on website
