Be Clay

Alisa

" You are the Potter, I am the Clay! "  Like me, you may have heard this phrase multiple times and even said it yourself. Whether you are in the church or not, this has become a popular phrase; that eventually in some cases became a cliché. However, has it crossed your mind what it really means to say " I am the Clay"?When you hear this phrase, you may imagine the positions of a “Potter” and “Clay” in this relationship. Understanding that the “Potter” makes and molds the clay to the desired finished product. You understand that the “Potter” knows the process needed to obtain the product's intended purpose. You may even imagine a “Potter” molding clay on the Potter’s wheel into a bowl. It is only possible for the clay to become a bowl if it cooperates with the Potter. The clay has to understand that its duty is only to be molded. The “Potter's” purpose will never come to fruition if the “clay” is non-cooperative. Here on the “Be Clay” podcast, we will talk about how to accept and endure the duty of clay, as we allow the Potter to perform the same.  We will explore the positions of “The Potter” and “The Clay” and the dynamics of each role. In the past years, I have learned and am still learning the roles of “The Potter” and “The Clay”. I have come to the realization that I was not fulfilling the role of “The Clay”. Instead of allowing “ The Potter” to mold me, I was fighting back and trying to mold myself. You can imagine what a mess I made! If you can relate, know you are not alone. “You are the Potter, and I am the Clay” will not be just something you say, but you will learn and understand your role and “ Be Clay”

    The Messy Middle Of Healing

Send us Fan Mail Healing doesn’t magically get easier the moment you choose it. After I stopped living in the “comfortable victim house” I built from trauma, I didn’t walk into a perfect new life. I walked straight into what I call the messy middle, that raw in-between place where you’re doing the work, but you still feel tired, triggered, and unsure who you are without the chaos. I break down three seasons I lived through in the last stretch of 2025: detox, boundary tests, and forced surrender. We talk attachment theory in plain language, including how anxious, avoidant, and disorganized attachment can show up as “personality,” when it’s often a trauma response rooted in childhood wounds, broken trust, and being silenced by the people who should have covered you. I also share what it looked like to detox people pleasing, stop performing for other people’s opinions, and start asking the simplest question that can feel impossible during trauma recovery: what do I actually want? Then we get into boundaries, especially when family pressure pulls you right back into savior mode. I’m honest about how setting limits can make you feel mean, guilty, or unsafe, and why you can’t do full healing in the same environment that broke you. Finally, I share how December hit like a sledgehammer, including a car accident that forced me to sit still and stop trying to hustle my way through healing like a checklist. If you’re craving real talk, Christian faith, and practical journal prompts to find your next step, this one is for you. Subscribe, share this with someone stuck in the messy middle, and leave a review. Which season are you in right now: detox, boundary test, or forced surrender? You are Loved! You Cannot Heal While You Keep Receipts

Send us Fan Mail If family is where you got hurt first, healing can feel like betrayal. We tell the truth about that tension and why “keeping the peace” often keeps you stuck. I share what it looked like to reach the end of my patience with my sister, stop initiating connection, and admit the resentment I didn’t want to name out loud. When you have years of history, sibling conflict is not just “drama” it is identity, family roles, and pain that can quietly shape everything from your relationships to your parenting. We also go deeper than romance and talk generational trauma, family fractures, and what happens when nobody in the house is allowed to tell the truth. One of the hardest realizations is watching old dynamics repeat in our kids, then recognizing that what we do not heal gets transferred. That is where accountability gets real: we can love people and still refuse to let unhealed behavior have access to our peace. We talk boundaries, the difference between guarding your heart and trauma bonding, and why love cannot survive on receipts. The turning point comes with a severe crisis that forces an intervention and forces perspective. I explain the line that changed everything for me: understanding is not excusing. Seeing the root of someone’s trauma, sickness, or grooming does not erase the harm, but it can free you from internalizing it. I end with practical journal prompts to help you name the boundary you have been afraid to set, trace the generational root, and drop the weapon of anger so you stop punishing yourself for someone else’s unhealed choices. Subscribe, share this with someone doing the work, and leave a review if it helps. What boundary are you ready to set this week? You are Loved! How Victim Mentality Becomes A Home

Send us Fan Mail You can be right about what happened to you and still be trapped by it. We go straight at the uncomfortable truth most of us avoid: victim mentality can turn into a whole “trauma house” we learn to live in, decorate, and defend, even while we swear we want freedom. We start with a few real-life updates, including a premium podcast subscription with bonus episodes for anyone who wants to deep dive into becoming secure and building a secure attachment in God. We also share what’s coming in October: a new women-only branch built for honest, woman-to-woman conversations that center accountability, not just venting. Then we get into the heart of the message. I unpack the wall I hit after letting go of anger toward men: the wall was me. From postpartum trauma and a painful conversation with my mom to the nervous system science behind hypervigilance, we break down why familiar pain can feel safer than unfamiliar healing. We also name the social trap of constant validation, the real cost of staying angry, and the crucial difference between understanding someone’s brokenness and excusing their behavior. You’ll leave with concrete journaling prompts that challenge you to tell the truth, audit your circle, and ask the question that changes everything: do you really want to be free? If this speaks to you, subscribe, share this with someone who’s stuck in resentment, and leave a review. What would you have to surrender to walk out of your trauma house? You are Loved! What If Growth Makes People Uncomfortable For A Reason

Send us Fan Mail Healing gets complicated the moment you stop pointing outward and start looking inward. We’re closing out a season with a real talk shift: recognizing other people’s unhealed behavior is only step one, but growth shows up in how we respond. I share what it looks like to move from frustration and constant conflict into self accountability, emotional healing, and calmer choices that actually support peace.  We also unpack a sensitive layer many of us avoid: how our mindset about men, leadership, and responsibility can shape our relationships and our homes. I talk about the temptation to “hold people accountable” with our own words, and why I’m learning to take people to God instead. That doesn’t excuse double standards or harm, but it does change the way we carry the burden and the way we set boundaries.  If you’re raising boys, mentoring youth, or trying to break generational cycles, this conversation hits home. We get into healing guilt, the backlash that comes when you stop people pleasing, and why you can’t save a sinking ship if you’re drowning with it. You’ll also get journal prompts that help you spot where core wounds still run the show, who in your inner circle feeds old patterns, and what it means to walk into your next season without shrinking your light to keep unhealed people comfortable.  If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s rebuilding, and leave a review so more people can find the show. You Cannot Build Your Life On Unhealed Opinions

Send us Fan Mail The loudest voices can sound like truth when you’re tired, overwhelmed, and already carrying old wounds. We hit that raw place and then slow down enough to ask the one question that cuts through the noise: “What do I say about you?” When your identity has been shaped by criticism, double standards, or spiritual shaming, that question is not just comforting. It’s clarifying. We talk about healing core wounds and what it looks like when “walking in newness” gets tested in real life, from the pressure of showing up for your family to the pain of feeling unseen. We unpack how unhealed dynamics with male figures can trigger the father wound, unworthiness, and the fear of being “too much,” and why a healed woman’s growth can challenge the unhealed people around her. The goal is not bashing men or excusing harm. The goal is truth, emotional healing, and freedom. We also break down powerful images that make this practical: the broken rib that cannot support without collapsing, the poisonous snake that bites because that’s its nature, and Paul shaking off the viper because he knows who he is. You’ll leave with journal prompts to check your patterns, clearer language for godly boundaries, and a better way to respond when people try to silence you for standing in your truth. If this helped you, subscribe, share it with someone who’s rebuilding their identity, and leave a review so more people can find the healing work. What’s one voice you’re done letting define you? What If Your Worth Was Never Up For Debate

Send us Fan Mail The lie sounds small at first: I’m too much. I cost too much. I’m not worth the fight. But once that belief settles into your body, it starts steering everything, your relationships, your boundaries, your voice, and even what your kids quietly learn from watching you. We’re talking core wounds and the real patterns they produce, especially disorganized attachment, that push and pull of craving deep connection while bracing for pain. I share what hit me hard during a church moment that exposed how my own unhealed unworthiness was echoing in my children. From there, we define what a core wound is, how childhood experiences, abandonment, and trauma can plant a “core lie,” and why self silencing can be a survival strategy that becomes a prison. We also go straight at the father wound and the ways our earliest “covering” can shape what we expect from men, including the double standards that breed bitterness. This isn’t about bashing men, it’s about naming the spiritual and emotional root, putting people in their proper place, and refusing to keep negotiating our standards just to keep someone close. You’ll leave with journal prompts to identify the lie, trace where it started, and face how refusing to heal affects your peace, your work, your friendships, and your family. If you’re ready to stop placing your worth in the hands of people who can’t hold it, press play. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review, what core lie are you ready to write down and challenge today? You are Loved! I Ran From God Until Unconditional Love Stopped Me

Send us Fan Mail The hardest part of healing is admitting where the story actually started. Today I take a step back and tell mine, not for shock value, but because my relationship with God didn’t come from a cute quote or a Sunday routine. It was forged through childhood grief, feeling different everywhere, and learning what spiritual sensitivity feels like when the people around you don’t understand it.  I talk about growing up in church, being anchored by my praying grandmother, and how her death left me trying to survive without the one person who “just knew.” I share the isolation that followed, including a suicide attempt as a child, and what it looked like to bury my spiritual self just to fit in. Then I fast-forward to fourteen, when anger and pain pushed me into rebellion and into real danger, including a night I believe God intervened and protected me anyway. That moment forced one question to the surface: why would unconditional love still reach for me when I was actively pushing it away?  From there, I walk through the turning point of surrender, choosing a personal relationship with God rooted in scripture, and setting a standard I refuse to negotiate. We also set up what’s next: core wounds, trauma patterns, and how disorganized attachment can keep us cycling through the wrong relationships until we deal with the root. If this resonates, subscribe, share this with someone who’s rebuilding, and leave a review with the biggest pattern you’re ready to break. You are Loved! What If Your Inner Voice Is Raising Your Children

Send us Fan Mail A hidden belief can live quietly for years and still shape the people you love most. I open up about the insecurity I never said out loud, the long road of Christian healing I thought I was already doing, and the painful moment I realized my children were carrying what I refused to face. I also talk about why I’m moving up a new series focused on women of faith. Growing up, I carried a burden for women and learned what it means to lament, but I also learned how quickly truth can get punished. After being ridiculed for holding women accountable, I tried to outrun the calling, told myself I was done, and took a long pause from sharing. A recent conversation pulls me back and makes it clear: it’s time to speak, teach, and tell the truth with love. Then I take you to May 18 and an encounter night at church where worship felt impossible and prayer exposed everything. Watching my kids get prayed for broke me, and one sentence put words to the real problem: they feel unworthy because I feel unworthy. From there, I trace the root back to my father, talk about spiritual responsibility in parenting, and explain why healing has to go deeper than surface fixes. If you’ve wrestled with unworthiness, generational trauma, or the fear that your kids might inherit your inner battles, this conversation is for you. If this hit home, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s doing the work, and leave a review with the one insight you don’t want to forget. You are Loved!
