However, we did spend a little bit of time this week talking about AEW Dynamite and their final push before Grand Slam Australia! The Death Riders and Don Callis Family continue their open hostility, Roderick Strong's annoyance with Orange Cassidy comes to a head, and number one contenders for the Men's Tag Team titles are crowned. Elsewhere, Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland air grievances and Kris Statlander defends the Women's World Title in a violent strap match. And yes, we did not shy away from the strap jokes. Then Toni Storm and Marina Shafir have a long awaited singles clash and then we go lights out for the main event! Actually, the lights going out was for sure a running theme.     Happy New Year, goofs and graps fans! It's already 2026 by the time you're listening to this, but AEW had to throw a New Year's Bash to close out what was a great year for them. And damn, they sure don't use these holiday episodes as an excuse to take the night off. Jon Moxley turned in another gritty babyface performance, the National Title was on the line, and Willow and Mercedes renewed their foundational rivalry for the TBS Title in the main event. And if you like nuts, they ran back the Mixed Nuts Tag Match from World's End with The Conglomeration and Death Riders. Mina Shirakawa might be out to permanently end Orange Cassidy after this one, folks. Hey when I do a "light the fuse" reference I've got a built in holiday tie in! The Continental Classic is practically a dead heat right now, but one man was able to punch his ticket to the semi-finals as an early gift to himself. Also, Bandido and Ricochet squared off for the Dynamite Diamond Ring, Marina Shafir is the hardest woman on the roster, Gabe Kidd is back, and Hangman and Swerve deliver their response to MJF's surprise from last week.
