    TDF reduces HBV DNA burden and liver immune microenvironment in CHB patients

    Summary The first source discusses the effectiveness of oral antiviral medications for Hepatitis B (HBV). While these medications are primarily thought to inhibit viral replication, recent studies show that they may also play a role in reducing the amount of viral DNA within the liver. This finding challenges the traditional view that these medications only prevent new infections. Before his military service, his medical examination showed abnormal liver indices, but since he had no symptoms, he still didn't take it seriously. It wasn't until he started working and a company health check revealed a rapid increase in liver inflammation indices, along with loss of appetite and jaundice. After a few weeks in the hospital, he returned to normal. Over the next ten years, his liver continued to have mild inflammation and he was diagnosed with cirrhosis, with shadows appearing in his liver ultrasound images.
