From Darkness To Light Recovery Podcast

Goddess Asha Mariama

Welcome to my recovery podcast From Darkness to Light Podcast. This podcast is all about helping people overcome the most negative situations in their lives, based upon negative people, wrong choices, and decisions, and following the rabbits down the rabbit hole to Wonderland a.k.a. negativity. When I think about this particular podcast, I think about Alice in Wonderland, and Alice followed the rabbit down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. And when Alice encountered the Mad Hatter and the queen of hearts, your co she realized how much she really truly was. And the Cheshire cat had to help her to get out of Wonderland. How God is The Cheshire cat when it comes to Trying to help us out when it comes to not going down the rabbit hole to Wonderland? To follow the rabbits down the rabbit hole in the first place? So we’re gonna be really dissecting the story of Alice in Wonderland and many other stories that read us when we were children’s stories were actually learning stories to teach us about the things that we go through when it comes to not only a childhood, but also adulthood that we shouldn’t have done. This podcast is all about helping people to overcome the darkness and negativity and their lives based upon the damage, impact, and affect that negativity based upon other people have done to your life. How to heal from the negative things that have been done to you by negative people? How to get out of Wonderland and to never to return to it? So, this podcast is all about helping people to recover from darkness, and negative situations that have caused you to hit Rockbottom, causing you to lose it all, causing you to be in a deep, dark depression, and anxiety, that has affected and impacted your finances, health, wellness, relationships, mental, psychological, and spiritual health. This podcast is going to probably hit home to a lot of people to the point where it’s really going to make you have to face a lot of demons, and past experiences that you have buried never to want to be reminded, or have to relive. But this podcast is all about healthy people to face the darkest, traumatic, abusive, and emotional old wounds that you thought you’d have to relive. But unfortunately, we have to relive these situations in order to learn from them, heal from them, grow, elevate, evolve, and mature from these situations. As well as repenting, forgiving, letting go of it, and moving forward. so I really really hope that people can really relate to this particular podcast, because it’s going to go very very deep into some of the most traumatic experiences that a lot of people have been through. Just know that you’re not alone in this. There are other people that are experiencing the same things as you. And if you were emailing me your stories that you would like for me to talk about, or any questions that you have that you want answers to when it comes to things that you are experiencing, please email me at Asha.Mariama01@gmail.com. you can also email me there when it comes to wanting one on one coaching as well. So I look forward to you guys joining me on this journey of the story of Alice and Wonderland and real life. so welcome to Wonderland Alice. Episode 53- My Conversation with Jobert E. Abueva about The Janus Plan: Beating the Procrastination Trap.

In this episode, I had a conversation with Jobert E. Abueva about The Janus Plan: Beating the Procrastination Trap. We spoke about procrastination traps that keep people from reaching their goals, moving on from negative situations, overcoming low self-esteem, self-love, self-respect, self-worth, self-value, self-confidence, and believing in yourself when no one else does, and lowering yourselves to build other people up. When many people think about procrastination, they think about people who are lazy and have no inspiration. He breaks down the Janus Plan when it comes to beating the procrastination traps that are keeping you from reaching your goals and the path, purpose, and journey that you are meant to be on. He spoke on mindful cleansing & global rituals when it comes to detoxing the mind from the past and things that are keeping you stagnant, stuff, and procrastination. We spoke on why people's New Year's resolutions are broken by February. How to go about overcoming fear and insecurities that keep you procrastinating and quitting? How can our relationship with our parents be the cause of not doing the things that you can actually do, due to making you feel less than what you are, and breaking your self-esteem and self-worth? A little about Jobert E. Abueva: he is an MBA, TEDx speaker ("Beyond Resolutions: The Art of Beginning with Intention"), and award-winning author whose work has appeared in The New York Times and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Jobert is warm, articulate, and deeply relatable. Instead, he developed a flexible, 6-step framework—inspired by Janus, the two-faced Roman god of thresholds and transitions—to help people reflect on the past, clear mental and physical clutter, and build sustainable life momentum without punitive pressure. This was a great conversation, and hopefully there will be a second conversation coming soon. I hope you guys enjoy the episode.  Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/from-darkness-to-light-recovery-podcast--6161908/support.

Episode 51 - The Battle Between The Old Vs The New You.

In this episode, this episode was supposed to be on my Old You versus New You podcast, but I ended up putting it on here because once I started doing the podcast, it actually started to make sense. Because the one thing when it comes from darkness to the light it has everything to do with the old U versus knew you. Anytime you go through something you should never be the same person after you went through it. You should always grow, evolve, elevate, learn, and mature into the person that you are meant to be as far as moving forward. There’s no point of dragging onto something that happened a long time ago. there are so many people that cannot let go of the past, which is why they continue to be in darkness. There are a lot of people that think they’re in the light and yet they’re still in darkness, because they keep repeating the same mistakes over and over and over again. And you can grow in any other aspect of your life if you don’t grow as a person, if you’re still doing the same things you did as the old version of yourself, you’re gonna keep getting the same results. So even though originally this episode was not meant for this podcast, as I was doing it, it started to make sense. Sometimes the things we do accidental can actually work in our favor. I hope you guys enjoy the episode that I had no intention of putting here. Episode 50-2- Part One of My Pre-conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck about His Adversity From a Near-Fatal Scooter Accident.

In this episode, it is part of my part 2 of the conversation I had with Vincent Van den Broec, where we continued our discussions about the near-fatal scooter accident that could have unalived him and could have left him paralyzed. The Zoom recording was divided into 2 parts. We talked about how he overcame his diagnosis through determination, drive, dedication, and the will not to let what the doctors told him make him feel sorry for himself. We talked about how we self-sabotage ourselves by believing what others say negatively. We talked about the importance of the connection between the mind, body, and spirit as far as how we deal with pain, trauma, and suffering. We talked about how he could have given up and instead chose to fight his diagnosis, his wives, and his loved ones' support. We talked about how we can program the body to be on the same page as your mind as far as what it wants it to do. How the mind and body are not on the same page, how we are impacted and affected by our decisions, choices, actions, and behavior, and the consequences, repercussions, and karma that come with them. How he spent three weeks in a coma, had part of his skull removed, and had to relearn how to walk and talk from scratch. We also talk faith and second chances at life, and not waste your second chance at life. The psychological reality of that recovery, and what it did to his family watching from the outside, is raw in a way that will hit your listeners hard. What is important about his story is the fact that he doesn't believe trauma changed him. He believes it tested what was already there. Resilience isn't something you find in the dark, he says. You build it long before you need it. He is currently writing a book about his journey of adversity, healing, and recovery. It was a great and powerful conversation that made me have to post this conversation of faith, adversity, resilience, drive, and belief that led him to a full recovery. I hope you enjoy this conversation. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/from-darkness-to-light-recovery-podcast--6161908/support.

Episode 49- My Pre-conversation with Ezra Vancil about Spiritual Redemption, Addictions, and Forgiveness.

In this episode, I had a pre-conversation with Ezra Vancil about his redemption and forgiveness when it comes to him overcoming addiction, depression, a felony DWI, a broken marriage, and a season where I nearly ended my life. How is it now, 13 years of being sober, his marriage was restored, and I rebuilt my life slowly, through journals, poetry, discipline, faith, and honest work? How, like the story of Humpty Dumpty, he put himself back together again after falling off the wall? We talked about his life as a rock star when he was younger, ended up on drugs and alcohol. And was divorced twice. How people are quick to use your mistakes, flaws, imperfections, and weaknesses against you as a weapon? We talked about spiritual judgment when it comes to the way that people in the Bible were judged, who did nothing but what was right. We also discussed love and being liked addiction as far as what people are willing to do for it, and what will happen negatively that will destroy you. We also talked about the way that felons are judged and crucified for their past mistakes. Why are people always holding people's past mistakes as a weapon against them? Why are people not allowed to change for the better just because they have made a mistake or multiple mistakes in their past? We talked about how our children, friends, and families are impacted and affected by addictions. We talked about suicide and what happens if and when we survive it. What leads to suicide, and no will to live? We really dove deeply into redemption and overcoming addictions. It was a great conversation that I had to let you guys hear. Part 2 is coming soon. Episode 48- My conversation with Amanda & Jessica From Little Seed Match About Surrogacy.

In this episode, I spoke to the founders, Amanda and Jessica, of the company Little Seed Match about helping women who are unable to have children through natural childbirth. They tell a beautiful yet painful story of how Jessica was unable to have a child naturally and made a hard decision to have a surrogate carry the baby for her. Amanda was the surrogate that she and her husband chose. They both tell their stories from the surrogate's and the women who will be raising the child's perspectives. We talk about the importance of the relationships between the mother-to-be and the surrogate. How they became friends through this journey to build a business to help women, as far as the surrogacy journeys lack: transparency, emotional support, and real human connection. Through their journey with bringing Oliva into the world through surrogacy, they built a business that bridges the gap when it comes to making choosing a surrogate more personal vs a transaction. A little about their company Little Seed Match, they founded it after living through what so many surrogacy journeys lack: transparency, emotional support, and real human connection. After completing our own independent surrogacy journey together, and staying close long after Olivia’s birth, we saw that surrogacy did not have to feel transactional to work. Little Seed Match helps intended parents and surrogates build trust-based, relationship-driven journeys rooted in alignment, communication, shared values, and emotional safety, which speaks directly to people rebuilding trust after painful, life-altering experiences.italso  helps intended parents and surrogates build trust-based, relationship-driven journeys rooted in alignment, communication, shared values, and emotional safety, which speaks directly to people rebuilding trust after painful, life-altering experiences. I learned so much about surrogacy that I didn't know. It was a beautiful conversation that I hope many women who are able to have children will learn from their story.
