Episode 38- My Pre-conversation with Ama K. Karikari About Silence Pain, Suffering, and Abuse.

In this episode, I had a pre-conversation with Ama K. Karikari about silence abuse, pain, and suffering when it comes to relationships, as far as family, romantic relationships, and friendships. She tells her story about what she experienced in her 15-year marriage and the silence abuse that she experienced during the marriage. We talked about the damage of silence when it comes to abuse, pain, and suffering from the people that you love. How can silence mean that you are allowing and giving permission for people to hurt, abuse, neglect, manipulate, and take advantage of you? How can silence be harmful to the point that it affects your self-esteem and how you see yourself? How did she overcome the silence abuse, and get out of the marriage? What was the breaking point that made her leave? How can silence be abusive, and no one think that it is abuse? A little about Ama: she is a TEDxGeorgeSchool speaker, author of Silenced to Soaring, transformational guide, attorney, and founder who helps women understand covert emotional harm and reconnect with their voice. Her perspective is shaped by work with women’s leadership, educational, and community audiences, along with studies at Harvard, Penn Law, and Wharton. It was a beautiful conversation that I wanted to share with my audience when it comes to overcoming adversity, pain, abuse, trauma, and suffering due to silence. The second part is coming soon. I hope you guys enjoy the conversation. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/perfectly-imperfect-podcast--6161916/support.

Episode 37- My Pre-conversation with Ezra Vancil about Spiritual Redemption, Addictions, and Forgiveness.

In this episode, I had a pre-conversation with Ezra Vancil about his redemption and forgiveness when it comes to him overcoming addiction, depression, a felony DWI, a broken marriage, and a season where I nearly ended my life. How is it now, 13 years of being sober, his marriage was restored, and I rebuilt my life slowly, through journals, poetry, discipline, faith, and honest work? How, like the story of Humpty Dumpty, he put himself back together again after falling off the wall? We talked about his life as a rock star when he was younger, ended up on drugs and alcohol. And was divorced twice. How people are quick to use your mistakes, flaws, imperfections, and weaknesses against you as a weapon? We talked about spiritual judgment when it comes to the way that people in the Bible were judged, who did nothing but what was right. We also discussed love and being liked addiction as far as what people are willing to do for it, and what will happen negatively that will destroy you. We also talked about the way that felons are judged and crucified for their past mistakes. Why are people always holding people's past mistakes as a weapon against them? Why are people not allowed to change for the better just because they have made a mistake or multiple mistakes in their past? We talked about how our children, friends, and families are impacted and affected by addictions. We talked about suicide and what happens if and when we survive it. What leads to suicide, and no will to live? We really dove deeply into redemption and overcoming addictions. It was a great conversation that I had to let you guys hear. Part 2 is coming soon. Enjoy the conversation. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/perfectly-imperfect-podcast--6161916/support.

Episode 36 - Turning Imperfections and Flaws Into Strengh.

In this episode, I think about perfectly imperfection when it comes to not putting everything in a perfect place, or a perfect box. I talk about how I’m OK with things not being perfect, or put in the right place all the time. Sometimes I like things to be with at least one thing out of order, to remind myself that I’m not perfect, and things are not perfect. That everyday things are not always gonna go as planned, all the way I want them to be. That is OK if I make a mistake, as long as I learn from that mistake. And I wanted to do this because there are so many people that are trying to be so perfect, and covering up their imperfections, flaws, disabilities, and mistakes they’ve made in their past just to be a part of something, or a part of groups that will never accept them regardless. I think it’s important that we learn that being imperfect doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you, or that you’re not deserving, it just means that people try to use it as a weapon against you to hurt, abuse, or take advantage of you. And is important that you understand that you have to learn how to turn these things into a strength. Instead of letting people use it against you as a weapon. I hope this episode where I talk about my imperfections, flaws, medical issues, disability, almost losing everything, and my disabilities helps you who are also imperfect know that you’re not alone. Episode 35-2- Part Two of My Pre-conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck about His Adversity From a Near-Fatal Scooter Accident.

In this episode, this is part 2 of the pre-conversation I had with Vincent Van den Broec about the near-fatal scooter accident that could have unalived him and could have left him paralyzed. The Zoom went, and it divided the recording and video into 2 parts. We talked about how he overcame his diagnosis through determination, drive, dedication, and the will not to let what the doctors told him make him feel sorry for himself. We talked about how we self-sabotage ourselves by believing what others say negatively. We talked about the importance of the connection between the mind, body, and spirit as far as how we deal with pain, trauma, and suffering. We talked about how he could have given up and instead chose to fight his diagnosis, his wives, and his loved ones' support. We talked about how we can program the body to be on the same page as your mind as far as what it wants it to do. How the mind and body are not on the same page, how we are impacted and affected by our decisions, choices, actions, and behavior, and the consequences, repercussions, and karma that come with them. How he e spent three weeks in a coma, had part of his skull removed, and had to relearn how to walk and talk from scratch. We also talk faith and second chances at life, and not waste your second chance at life. The psychological reality of that recovery, and what it did to his family watching from the outside, is raw in a way that will hit your listeners hard. What is important about his story is the fact that he doesn't believe trauma changed him. He believes it tested what was already there. Resilience isn't something you find in the dark, he says. You build it long before you need it. He is currently writing a book about his journey of adversity, healing, and recovery. It was a great and powerful conversation that made me have to post this conversation of faith, adversity, resilience, drive, and belief that led him to a full recovery. I hope you enjoy this conversation. Part 2 of our conversation is coming soon. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/perfectly-imperfect-podcast--6161916/support.

Episode 34- My Pre-conversation with Angela Jenkins about Diet vs a Holistic Lifestyle.

In this relationship, I had a great conversation with Angela Jenkins about diets vs holistic lives when it comes to weight loss and being healthy. We spoke about why eating “healthy” still is not enough for so many people, especially in midlife, and how symptoms are often clues instead of problems to suppress? We talked about America when it comes to chemicals in our food and processed food, even though it seems healthy, but it really isn't. We talked about weight loss when it comes to the reasons why you are losing weight that can lead to gaining the weight right back. We talked about how even though some people look, eat, exercise, and seem healthy externally, that doesn't physically mean that they are healthy internally. The stereotype in society standards when it comes to external health and wellness, and physical appearance. We talk about the importance of mental and physical communication when it comes to decisions, actions, behavior, and choices that will impact and affect your health and wellness. We talked about understanding how detoxification, gut health, inflammation, nutrient status, environmental exposures, and lifestyle all work together. A little about Angela, she is the founder of Health Is Local and a Registered Dietitian with 30 plus years of clinical experience. I teach a root-cause approach through what I call The Root Cause Lens, helping people understand how detoxification, gut health, inflammation, nutrient status, environmental exposures, and lifestyle all work together. My focus is real food, practical detoxification, and helping people restore energy, clarity, and confidence. It was a great conversation, and I hope that you guys enjoy the conversation. Episode 33- My Pre-conversation with Paul Drayton about His Memoir, Ride, Or Die Trying.

In this episode, I had a great conversation with Paul Drayton about his memoir Ride, or Die Trying. We talked about his battle with alcohol and being a people pleaser throughout his whole life. We talked about his marriage and divorce from comedian Alan Carr. He was very candid account of addiction recovery, accountability, grief, a late ADHD diagnosis at 50, and rebuilding his life. How did the drinking addiction almost ruin his life and career? How has his healing and recovery journey led him to rebuilding, and he is now in a much happier place? We talked about how being a people pleaser and lowering yourself is ruining so many people's lives. How being a people pleaser starts from childhood based on trying to please our parents and living up to their expectations. He also talks plainly about making peace with past mistakes, not being defined by public opinion, and rebuilding self-worth without dressing it up. There’s humour and honesty in the way he reflects on chaos, identity, loss, and starting over. People do not understand the damage that being a people pleaser causes to all aspects of your life, health, and wellness. It was a very enlightening conversation that I wanted you guys to hear. We will be doing a part two to that conversation soon. I hope that you enjoy the conversation. Episode 32 - Perfectly Imperfect When It Comes To Seeing Things and People For Who and What They Are.

And this episode, I discussed the perfectly imperfections when it comes to same things for what they are, and not what you want them to be. Seeing people for who and what they really are, and not who and what you think they are. How our feelings can lead us astray into the wrong direction that we’re not supposed to be in. How we’re not fulfilling our purpose, and destiny because we’re too busy following other people that God never wanted us to have our lives in the first place. And how sometimes the reason why you are alone is because God is pushing you into a different direction that the people that are the closest to you may not understand, or they may try to self sabotage, lead you astray, manipulate, and have you going in the wrong direction that will not in well for you. This particular podcast is going to really hit a lot of people where it hurts. And it’s gonna make people have to face a reality that they’re not ready to face, but unfortunately, they have no choice because things are not ending well for them because they don’t want to see things, but what they are. A lie can be a truth, but the truth can also be a lie. So this particular podcast is about learning to accept your flaws, imperfections, disabilities, mistakes that you’ve made in your past, and taken accountability for the choices and decisions based on your feelings that have led you down the wrong direction to consequences, repercussions,, and karma that was never your own. So many people have lowered themselves in order to build other people up, and neglecting their purpose and their path that they’re meant to do. And how you should never lower yourself, and forget about your purpose, path, and journey that you’re supposed to be on. Why you should never give up everything that is your safety in that to help people that will never reciprocate what you give? This podcast when it comes to healing and recovery when it comes to your feelings, imperfections, flaws, disabilities, and states that you’ve been in your past that people have been holding over your head for years that is the reason why you’re not what you need to be, is why I created the podcast in the first place. So I hope you guys enjoy the upcoming episodes on this podcast. And actually appreciate the support.
