    CFMs, Crocs & Career Changes: Welcome to Midlife 😂

    What do Samuel L. Jackson, Julia Child, Colonel Sanders and Vera Wang have in common? They all found major success after the age of 40! This week on The Midlifers, we're talking about why turning 40 doesn't mean your best years are behind you. In fact, for many famous people, it was only the beginning. We share the stories of people including Eric Yuan, who founded Zoom at 41, Colonel Sanders, whose KFC success came after 60, Kris Jenner, who helped launch Keeping Up With the Kardashians in her 50s - but did she also help set up the infamous Kim K tape?? We ponder this possibility. And it gets us thinking: is midlife actually a crisis… or is it a midlife awakening? Then we take a very different trip down memory lane with our Then & Now: Shoes segment. We're revisiting the iconic shoes we wore in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s — jelly sandals, Converse, Doc Martens, Mary Janes, knee-high boots and those ridiculously pointy shoes that made our feet look like they'd been trapped in a Roald Dahl movie. We talk about the return of 90s fashion, why our feet seem to have changed shape, the joy of comfortable shoes, our teenage shoe obsessions, and the very important question: Are Crocs ever going away? Mez really, really hopes they will!! Plus, scary clowns, terrified children, Mr Bean nightmares, Halloween displays and plenty of the usual midlife chaos.     Hot Pants, Heart-throbs & Iconic Music Videos: The 2000s Were Something Else

    The 2000s gave us some seriously unforgettable music videos - and we're going back to revisit the best of them!     Then & Now: Whatever Happened to Family Get-Togethers?

    Remember when family visits were basically a weekly event? In this episode of The Midlifers, we're taking a nostalgic trip back to the 80s and 90s and asking: whatever happened to extended family get-togethers? We reminisce about weekends spent visiting cousins, Sunday dinners at Grandma and Nonna's, random knocks on the door, sleeping over at grandparents' houses, making up dances for the adults, playing games with cousins and being sent off to the park with absolutely ZERO adult supervision. We also have a LOT to say about gift giving etiquette in our Don’t be a D!ck segment. Should you open presents in front of the person who gave them to you? Do you have to pretend to like a terrible gift? Is regifting acceptable? What about homemade presents? And what happens when someone gives their teacher lingerie?! 😳 Plus, we're talking grocery shopping, the chores we absolutely hate, gift registries, Macca's memories and the things that make us realise we're officially Midlifers.
