EP20: Healing Religious Trauma, Shame & Finding Unity With God

Can you have a relationship with God without fear, shame or the belief that you're on the wrong path? In this solo episode of Lessons To My Younger Self, I share a recent encounter with a street preacher that challenged my beliefs and sparked a deeper reflection on religion, spirituality and our relationship with God. I explore how religious trauma, fear-based teachings and the belief that there is only one path to God can create shame and disconnect us from love. I also share my own experiences with self-blame, spiritual discernment and learning to respond with love when we're triggered. Drawing on shadow work and the Bhagavad Gita, I reflect on forgiveness, self-acceptance and what it means to connect with God without fear or the pressure to be perfect. If you've ever questioned your faith, felt judged for your beliefs or struggled to reconcile religion with your spiritual journey, this episode invites you to reflect on what a relationship with God could look like when it's rooted in love rather than fear. EP19: Stop Performing for Love: Cheating, Divorce & Learning to Trust Yourself with Shilpa Cacho

Do you find yourself people-pleasing, overthinking or losing yourself in relationships? What if the key to healthier love isn't changing who you are, but learning to trust yourself? In this episode of Lessons To My Younger Self, I sit down with love and intimacy mentor Shilpa Cacho to explore the patterns that keep us from the connection we crave. Drawing on her experiences of marriage, divorce and infidelity, Shilpa shares insights on emotional intimacy, nervous system regulation, vulnerability and the difference between having standards and abandoning yourself. If you're tired of repeating the same relationship patterns and want to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships without losing yourself, this conversation is for you. EP18: Shadow Work, the Father Wound & Refathering Yourself with Chris Orozco

What if the parts of yourself you keep trying to fix aren’t broken at all, but simply asking to be understood? In this episode of Lessons To My Younger Self, I’m joined by shadow work teacher Chris Orozco for a deep conversation about shadow integration, the father wound, reparenting and what it really means to refather yourself. Chris shares his powerful personal journey, from losing his father at just six years old and growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness, to experiencing homelessness, rage and suicidal ideation. His own search for healing eventually led him to shadow work, which he has now spent 14 years studying and teaching. Together, we explore what happens when we stop seeing our triggers, behaviours and patterns as problems to fix and instead begin to understand the parts of ourselves underneath them. We go particularly deep into the father wound and the process of refathering ourselves. What might we have needed from the masculine growing up? Protection, guidance, structure, provision, boundaries and healthy consequences. And how can we begin to cultivate those qualities within ourselves when they were missing, inconsistent or difficult to receive? This conversation also explores shame, rebellion, masculine and feminine energy, relationship triggers, nervous system pacing and why meaningful healing requires us to create a vision for who we are becoming, rather than endlessly focusing on what is wrong with us. ✨ In this episode, we explore: • What shadow work actually is and how shadow integration goes deeper• The difference between identifying a shadow and understanding the part beneath it• The father wound and how it can shape our relationships and sense of self• What refathering yourself really means• The role of protection, guidance, structure and boundaries• Reparenting and inner child healing• Shame, rebellion and the parts of ourselves we reject• Masculine and feminine energy and polarity• Understanding relationship triggers• Nervous system pacing and why healing cannot be rushed• Creating a vision for the person you want to become 💭 A question to reflect on: What part of yourself have you been trying to fix, control or reject that might actually be asking to be understood? ✨ Connect with Kiren Instagram: @kirenbhardwa Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/@InnerGlowWithKiren ✨ Work With Me Explore my coaching, energy work and upcoming experiences:https://linktr.ee/innerglowwithkiren ✨ Connect with Chris Orosco https://www.instagram.com/operation_moksha/ https://www.operationmoksha.com/jointhecrew If this episode resonated with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. EP17: I Lived in an Ashram for 5 Months. Here’s What I Learned

What happens when you stop trying to control your life and actually surrender? For nearly five months, I lived in an ashram at Bhaktivedanta Manor in Watford after leaving Bali and joining a Veda course. It was a completely different rhythm of life, and one that taught me a lot about spirituality, God, surrender and myself. In this solo episode of Lessons To My Younger Self, I’m sharing what that experience was really like, from early mornings, mangala aarti and japa meditation to studying scripture, serving within the community and learning more deeply about the soul, karma, reincarnation and divine love. I also talk about entrepreneurship, learning to let go of control, receiving support from community and running my Rebirth workshop for more than 25 people. And then there’s the work of being seen. I share what came up around perfectionism, visibility and public speaking, and what I’ve been learning about creating enough safety in the body for deeper healing to happen. A personal reflection on the last few months, what they’ve taught me and what I’m carrying into this next chapter. ✨ In this episode: • What living in an ashram for five months was really like • What I learned from studying the Vedas • Surrender, faith and reconnecting with God • The power of devotion, routine and community • Entrepreneurship and learning to release control • Perfectionism, visibility and the fear of being seen • Why safety matters when we’re healing 💭 A question for you: Where are you being invited to surrender rather than control? ✨ Connect with Me https://www.instagram.com/innerglowwithkiren ✨ Work With Me https://linktr.ee/innerglowwithkiren https://www.kirenbhardwa.com If something in this episode resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Inside each of us lives both the feminine and the masculine, two essential energies that long to be seen, valued and expressed.
