Learning to Live Again: Learning to trust the messy, imperfect process of becoming fully alive.

In this episode, I talk about perfectionism, the little girl in me who thought she had to be perfect to be loved, and what it has looked like to walk hand in hand with her instead of trying to get rid of her. Because knowing something in your mind isn’t always enough. We get to create a new experiences. We get to take the scary step. We get to show ourselves that we can do something differently. We get to pave a new path, one little step at a time, until what once felt unfamiliar starts to feel like us. And we realize we don’t have to carry all those bricks we’ve been carrying. Maybe putting them down doesn’t make everything fall  It creates space. Space for love. Space for beauty. Space for magic. Space to breathe. Space to actually live. And… it’s messy. Sometimes it feels like paint is just being splattered everywhere and you’re standing there thinking, I have no idea what this is becoming. And  that’s okay. We don’t have to know yet. Somewhere  in the middle of all that mess, something starts to happen. Your body exhales. The color comes back. You start feeling life again. And you realize… Oh. This is what it feels like to live. This episode is for the person who is tired of performing, tired of trying to get it right, or maybe just ready to step outside the box and experience this one wild, beautiful life a little more fully. You don’t have to have it all figured out.You get to be messy. You get to be human. You get to live. What if you’re not waiting for clarity, you’re waiting until you’re not scared?

What are you going to choose to do with this one wild, beautiful life? In this solo episode of Watch Sunsets with Me, I’m sharing a breathwork experience that really made me stop and look at where I’ve been holding myself back. I heard, “You don’t have to use the gifts I gave you. But if you’re going to choose not to use them, don’t keep asking me to show you a sign on what you’re supposed to do.” Maybe sometimes we’re not actually waiting for clarity. Maybe we already know. We’re just scared of what following that knowing is going to require of us. This episode is about choosing to fully experience this life. About the gifts we’ve been given, the paths we get to choose, and the places where we might be hiding, looping, or holding ourselves back. It’s about breathwork, but not just sitting down for another two-hour practice or another thing to check off the list. It’s about bringing the breath, the presence, the play, the aliveness, and the magic into our everyday lives. Because your circumstances don’t always have to change for you to experience life differently. So where are you holding yourself back? Are you standing at the start line, asking for another sign? Or are you ready to start running? You matter. You are loved. The color will come back. Let’s start finding your color again. Let’s start painting on the pages again. Let’s start creating again. Let’s start finding the aliveness and remembering who you are.

Why Am I So Overwhelmed? The small moments that bring you back to yourself before you spiral.

Sally called me in the middle of a full spiral. One worry had turned into ten, her nervous system was in overdrive, so we talked things over, she went to a park and walked  barefoot on the grass while we filmed this episode.  How many of us have felt this way. How many of us feel overwhelmed 24/7… Most of us aren’t overwhelmed because we’re doing life wrong. We’re overwhelmed because we’ve gotten so busy carrying everything that we’ve forgotten to come back to ourselves. In this episode, we’re talking about the little things that help us remember. Walking barefoot. Feeling the sun on your face. Taking one deep breath. Moving your body because it feels good not because you have to. Looking up long enough to notice the sunset. Not because these things magically fix your life. But because they create enough space for you to breathe again. This isn’t another conversation about having the perfect self-care routine. It’s about creating tiny moments that remind you you’re human. If you’ve been feeling like you’re snapping more than you’d like, carrying too much, or wondering why you’ve started to lose yourself in the middle of a life you actually love… This one’s for you. Learning to Let Go, Building the Capacity to Hold Joy & Grief

There are seasons in life that stretch your heart in ways you never expected. In this episode, I open up about watching my oldest daughter graduate, navigating the  reality of letting go, and the unexpected lessons we both learned during her final high school track season after an injury threatened everything she had worked toward.  This episode isn’t just about graduation or sports. It’s about what it means to build the capacity to hold joy and grief at the same time. To trust when life doesn’t go according to plan. To create safety within your nervous system so you can stay present in the moments that matter most instead of spiraling in fear or trying to control the outcome. We explore how our bodies respond to uncertainty, why healing isn’t about avoiding hard emotions, and how motherhood continually invites us to soften, surrender, and remember who we are. If you’re walking through a season of change, holding both heartbreak and gratitude, or simply longing to feel more grounded in the middle of life’s uncertainty, this conversation is for you. In this episode, we talk about: Holding the duality of motherhood and letting goBuilding emotional and nervous system capacitySupporting our children through disappointmentTrusting God in seasons of uncertaintyWhy your body is always listeningMoving from protection into safetyHow breath, movement, and presence help us reconnect with ourselvesRemembering who you are in the middle of becomingSo whether you’re celebrating, grieving, letting go, or simply learning how to hold both at once, I hope this conversation feels like a deep breath for your soul…a reminder that you don’t have to rush through this season. You can stay, soften, and trust the becoming.
