OK, I don’t know if you would call finding a White Lotus episode/theory breakdown a coincidence while actively looking for White Lotus content. However, it was the style that Alfredo, Jag and Kopf brought to their analyses that made the algorithm feel serendipitous. The hosts draw references from the best and (worst) moments of the entertainment ether. It was through this podcast that I was made aware of the new seventh season of Black Mirror. I didn’t even know that they liked that show, but I immediately knew that I wanted to hear their takes. I began watching the new episode so that I could prepare my takeaways and compare it to the hosts’ theories. I was blown away by Kopf’s decoding of episode 4, “Playthings”. Another part of the Unbinged discussion that stuck with me was when they described as a “broken mirror” which is also a term I’ve heard someone use to describe David Lynch’s, Twin Peaks. I would love if you guys explored that world as well! That being said, I want longer episodes! And please talk about “Bête Noir”, that is THE episode of Black Mirror that can’t leave my mind. Keep up the bang up work! Don’t let this long winded review lead you to think that this podcast is in any way dry or hoity-toity. The hosts bring in tons of laughs and hi-jinks. This one’s a real knee slapper!!
If you watch any of the content they cover, you’ll love this channel!

I honestly don’t know how I came across this channel but it one day popped up into my feed and I gave it a watch and was surprised at how much I liked it. I don’t think I am a super picky person but there are certain things that drive me nuts that podcast channels that have more than one host often do; specifically when they talk over each other or when they get caught up in side discussions about topics we don’t know about as they typically relate to personal details that the host don’t want out there nor do audience members really want to hear small pieces of and Unbinged has managed to not break this minimum criteria I have. Another thing that I have not noticed about this channel (which is a good thing!) is that they don’t have the intro containing previews of what is going to be discussed on that episode as in inserting clips of the actual discussions they have already taped the same way you would see a trailer for the next episode of a tv show except it’s shown right before the new episode airs. I don’t know why this is something that channels have started to do but it is a really big pet peeve of mine where I go back and check to see if I had accidentally skipped way ahead because I’m hearing discussion about the topic of a video that I just started but where it is deep into the discussion. OK all of this is a lot of negativity and sharing things the channel doesn’t do that makes me happy but some things that I do enjoy about Unbinged is that the three host have good chemistry and seem to be able to communicate clearly and effectively where even misunderstanding one another is quickly explained and resolved without having to have a big breakdown of the thought process and points that were misunderstood. All three of them are conventionally attractive and their personalities complement each other which is nice to have instead of doing specific tropes like one being the smart guy, the wife guy, the devils advocate guy, the peacemaker/diplomat of the group, etc. They feel like real people instead of one dimensional characters where their entire personality can be broken down to just one or two words. So in summary I want to say that Unbinged avoids engaging in the little annoyances that I’ve noticed in a lot of other similar podcasts and the three hosts seem like genuine real people. And not to sound like I’m someone who gets caught up in parasocial relationships, having these three seemingly authentic personalities talking about shows that I enjoy has helped me through trying to navigate out of my severe DV situation. I know that they don’t know me and I know that I don’t really know them, but they have felt like the closest thing to actual friends I’ve experienced since I unknowingly walked into what is my personal real life absolute worst nightmare that I’m currently trying and hoping I can get out of. Lastly, even though my review is full of really heavy subject matter I do want to clarify that this trio is a lot of fun to listen to which helps me have a sliver of respite from my awful reality But done so in a way that it’s like getting to catch up with some like-minded friends. So as long as you like and watch the stuff they cover I don’t see how you could dislike this podcast!

The Unbinged guys do a great job of explaining everything from the latest shows and movies. I love the way they breakdown all the Easter eggs and theories while still being funny. I feel like I’m in the room with them hanging out with them!
