Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel and Steve Dupuie Continuing Church of God 58 Islamic NATO, the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, and the King of the South The program opens by framing the episode around the question of whether an "Islamic NATO" is beginning to form and how that may relate to Bible prophecy. Steve Dupuie introduces Dr. Bob Thiel, who explains that recent military cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey has prompted news outlets and analysts to describe the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement as a NATO-style Islamic alliance. Dr. Thiel reviews reports describing the combined military strength of the three countries, including their active personnel, aircraft, and tanks. He emphasizes that the agreement includes a clause similar to NATO's Article 5, where an attack on one member is treated as an attack on all, while noting that the agreement is not formally connected to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The discussion then turns to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other analysts who describe the agreement as strategically important for the wider Muslim world. Dr. Thiel presents the pact as a sign of a shifting regional security architecture, one that may become less dependent on the United States and more shaped by coordinated Muslim-majority states. Steve asks whether the United States is still guaranteeing peace in the region and whether these three governments can provide the same level of security. Dr. Thiel answers that the United States still plays a role but that the Iran war, Israeli actions, and regional uncertainty are changing attitudes. He also states that more Sunni Muslim countries are expected to join the Mecca Defense Agreement. Dr. Thiel connects these developments to Daniel 11 and the prophetic figure known as the King of the South. He explains that the Bible describes the King of the South as having a great and mighty army, and he argues that a growing Mecca alliance or similar Islamic military confederation could become part of that prophesied bloc. The program concludes by discussing Egypt, other possible participating nations, and prior Church of God commentary on the King of the South. Dr. Thiel names Libya, Algeria, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, and parts of Sudan as possible participants in a broader alliance. He closes by saying that the Continuing Church of God is watching world events in light of prophecy and reporting them as a watchman.

Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel and Steve Dupuie Do End-Time Prophecies Require a Rebuilt Jewish Temple? Dr. Bob Thiel joins Steve Dupuie on Bible News Prophecy to examine the Temple Institute, the history of the first and second temples, New Testament uses of the Greek words naos and hieron, Christians as the temple of God, end-time animal sacrifices, the abomination of desolation, and his conclusion that a physical Jewish temple is not required for biblical prophecy to be fulfilled. The Temple Institute and the Desire to Rebuild Steve Dupuie opens by asking whether Jewish groups currently want to build a temple. Dr. Bob Thiel identifies the Temple Institute as one such organization and discusses a newsletter that cites Deuteronomy 12:5–7 and asks supporters to help rebuild the temple. Thiel notes, however, that the quoted passage speaks about a chosen place of worship and sacrifice without explicitly requiring a temple building. The First and Second Temples in Biblical History Thiel reviews the history of Solomon’s temple, its destruction by Babylon, the construction of the second temple after Cyrus’s decree, Herod’s later expansion, and the temple’s destruction by Roman forces in AD 70. He connects the latter event with Jesus’ prophecy in Matthew 24 that not one stone would remain upon another. The transcript itself cautions that these historical dates are preserved as stated by the speakers and should be independently verified when used as formal historical citations. Christians as the Temple of God When Steve asks whether a holy Jewish temple can be built in the present age, Thiel answers no. He turns to passages in 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians that describe believers as the temple of the Holy Spirit and the temple of the living God. In his interpretation, the New Testament identifies Spirit-filled Christians, including Christian Jews, as God’s holy temple rather than a future Jewish building. Naos and Hieron: Two Greek Words for Temple Thiel distinguishes between two Greek words translated as “temple.” He says hieron usually refers to a physical temple complex, while naos may refer to the inner sanctuary, Christ’s body, or the community of believers. He points to John 2, where Jesus says, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up,” and the passage explains that He was speaking of His body. Thiel uses this distinction to support his view that prophetic references to God’s temple need not describe a rebuilt Jewish structure. A Spiritual Building With Christ as the Cornerstone The discussion continues with Ephesians 2, where Christians are described as a building founded on the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. Thiel interprets the growing “holy temple in the Lord” as the church collectively rather than a physical sanctuary. He also draws on 1 Peter to describe Christians as a chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, and special people. Christ’s Sacrifice and the Question of Holiness Thiel argues that New Testament teaching about Christ’s sacrifice makes a restored system of temple sacrifices unnecessary for Christians. Referring to Hebrews 9, he describes Christ as High Priest of a greater tabernacle not made with human hands. From this, he concludes that a Jewish religious building may be constructed, but it would not constitute God’s holy temple in the New Testament sense. Animal Sacrifices Without a Temple Steve asks whether Daniel’s end-time prophecies concerning sacrifices require a temple. Thiel says they do not. He cites biblical examples of sacrifices offered before Solomon’s temple existed and after the first temple was destroyed but before the second temple was completed. According to Thiel, an altar, priestly leadership, religious implements, willingness, and government permission would be sufficient for sacrifices to resume. The Abomination of Desolation and the “Holy Place” The final discussion concerns Jesus’ warning in Matthew 24 about the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place. Thiel emphasizes that Jesus said “holy place,” not “holy temple.” He refers to the Greek terms topos for “place” and hagios for “holy,” arguing that the phrase may describe a location rather than a particular building. He therefore rejects the assumption that this prophecy requires a rebuilt Jewish temple. Living as God’s Holy People Thiel closes by urging Christians not to wait for a temple that, in his view, God would recognize as holy in this age. Instead, he says Christians themselves are called to be God’s holy people and should live accordingly. The episode concludes with a reference to the Bible News Prophecy website and the Continuing Church of God’s free literature.

Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel Alpha Gal Syndrome: A Modern Pestilence Ticks are insects that are easy to hate. But did you know that they not only suck your blood, but they also spit in you? When they start gnawing on you to suck your blood some of their spit gets mixed with your blood. It should come as no surprise that this has the potential of causing disease. What might come as a surprise is that this gnawing, sucking, spitting process has actually resulted in a condition known as Alpha Gal Syndrome. However, what might come as an even bigger surprise is that there is a group of people (vegetarian scientists published in 'Bioethics') that have found a way to claim the Modern Day Pestilence of the Alpha Gal Syndrome as being good. Alpha-gal is a molecule (galactose-α-1,3-galactose) that is naturally produced in the bodies of most mammals but not in people. It is also found in the saliva (spit) of some ticks. When a tick bites, it can transfer alpha-gal from its saliva into a person's blood. The body's natural defenses, or immune system, can identify alpha-gal as a threat and trigger an allergic reaction. The Alpha Gal Syndrome causes those that suffer from tick bites to become highly allergic to red meat and meat products such as dairy and gelatin. This syndrome can even lead to anaphylactic shock, which can also be fatal. Although the Bible allows for vegetarianism, it also specifically states that there are many 'red meat' animals that humans can eat (Deuteronomy 14:4-6). Calling this Modern Pestilence good is a Biblical example of ‘calling evil good’. To learn more about this modern-day pestilence watch this video as Dr. Thiel shines the light of Biblical truth on the modern-day pestilence of the Alpha Gal Syndrome. Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel and Steve Dupuie Toxins, Vanity, and the Spiritual Pollution of a Modern World Steve Dupuie and Dr. Bob Thiel discuss natural and man-made toxins, chemical exposure, cosmetics, processed foods, entertainment, vanity, and spiritual contamination, connecting physical toxicity to biblical warnings about sin, Satan’s influence, and the need to seek God’s Kingdom Natural and Man-Made Toxins in Daily Life In this episode of Bible News Prophecy, part of the Continuing Church of God series, Steve Dupuis opens a discussion with Dr. Bob Thiel about toxins, asking whether both natural and man-made toxins exist. Dr. Thiel explains that natural toxins can come from sources such as blue-green algae, poisonous mushrooms, contaminated lettuce, and packaged foods, while man-made toxins are harder to avoid because they appear in food, homes, personal routines, plastics, packaging, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals. The program identifies itself as Bible News Prophecy, brought by the Continuing Church of God, offering news and analysis of world events in light of Bible prophecy. Chemical Exposure and the Invisible Assault Dr. Thiel discusses modern chemical exposure as a hidden and cumulative threat, citing articles that describe everyday toxins as part of an “invisible assault” on human health. He says that since World War II, synthetic chemical compounds have been promoted as conveniences, from pesticides to packaging and nonstick cookware, but may interfere with the body’s ability to detoxify. He also discusses claims that thousands of synthetic chemicals from food-contact materials are present in human bodies and that microplastics may contribute to health risks over time. Cosmetics, Vanity, and the Warning of Lucifer The conversation turns to cosmetics and appearance-related products, which Dr. Thiel presents as another area where people may expose themselves to unnecessary toxins. He connects this to biblical warnings about vanity, quoting Ecclesiastes and discussing Ezekiel’s description of the being he identifies as Satan, whose heart was lifted up because of beauty. Dr. Thiel argues that the pursuit of outward appearance can become spiritually dangerous as well as physically risky, especially when people ignore possible chemical exposure for the sake of beauty. Weight-Loss Drugs and the Risks of Appearance Culture Dr. Thiel then discusses GLP-1 weight-loss medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy, connecting them to appearance-focused concerns and reports about facial changes such as “Ozempic face” or temple hollowing after rapid weight loss. He frames this as another example of people attempting to improve appearance in ways that may create new problems. The broader point is that vanity and the desire to look better can lead people into choices that may harm them physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Physical Toxins as Analogies for Sin The episode shifts into a spiritual analogy, comparing obvious poisonous plants to obvious sins such as stealing or murder. Dr. Thiel says contaminated foods can represent more deceptive dangers because people may not recognize the threat until they are affected. He connects this to 1 Peter’s warning about the devil as a roaring lion and to the biblical description of Satan as the prince of the power of the air, arguing that Satan’s influence is widespread, like pollution, even though Christians must still live in the world. Entertainment as a Spiritual Toxin Dr. Thiel identifies entertainment as another possible toxin, warning that what people put before their eyes can spiritually affect them. He cites biblical passages about not letting sin reign in the body, setting nothing wicked before one’s eyes, coming out from the world, and avoiding corrupting company. He compares this to the toxicology concept of a total toxic threshold: just as the body may tolerate limited toxins until harm accumulates, people may tolerate some exposure to a sinful society, but increasing spiritual toxicity requires greater caution. Avoiding Toxins and Praying for God’s Kingdom The episode closes by urging listeners to avoid both physical and spiritual toxins where possible. Dr. Thiel says Christians should strive to avoid sin, reduce toxic influences, eat real rather than ultra-processed foods, use cosmetics minimally, and resist Satan’s proud and vain ways. He points to the coming Millennial Kingdom of God, when Satan will be bound and resurrected saints will teach the right way to live, and he concludes by encouraging listeners to pray for God’s Kingdom to come.

Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel and Steve Dupuie Petra, Bozrah, and the Prophetic Place of Safety Steve Dupuie speaks with Dr. Bob Thiel about biblical clues concerning the end-time place of protection, examining Petra, Bozrah, Revelation 12, Philadelphian Christians, and why the place of safety may be near — but not necessarily inside — Petra. The Question of Protection During the Great Tribulation In this episode of the Bible News Prophecy Program, announcer Steve Dupuie introduces a discussion with Dr. Bob Thiel about Jesus’ promise to protect some of His followers from the Great Tribulation. The central question is where that place of safety might be, with Petra in Jordan serving as the most common speculation. Dr. Thiel says many have assumed Petra could be the location, but he raises an important question: if Petra is not the place, would most Christians be willing to flee somewhere else? Petra, Sela, and Popular Prophetic Speculation Dr. Thiel begins by discussing writings from Tim McHyde, who examines whether Petra is truly the prepared place of safety for Israel or for Christians. He notes that Petra was historically connected with Edom and the Nabateans, while some prophetic interpretations imagine Jews or Philadelphian Christians finding refuge there. Dr. Thiel explains that the Bible does not use the modern name Petra, but refers instead to terms such as Sela or Selah, meaning “rock.” He also considers questions about whether Petra could physically hold the number of people some prophecy watchers associate with Revelation’s 144,000. Revelation 12 and the Identity of the Protected Woman A major part of the discussion focuses on Revelation 12. Dr. Thiel agrees with the point that Revelation 12:17 refers to those who “keep God’s commandments and have the testimony of Jesus,” which he says eliminates the idea that the woman in that passage simply represents the modern nation of Israel. He interprets the protected group as Philadelphian Christians, while the “rest of her offspring” represent Christians who are not protected. In his view, Revelation 12 describes a wilderness place of protection on Earth, not a rapture to heaven. Bozrah as an Alternative and Why Dr. Thiel Is Skeptical Steve asks about Bozrah, another location some have suggested as a possible place of safety. Dr. Thiel acknowledges that Bozrah appears in prophetic passages from Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Micah, and that some details sound interesting, especially language involving eagle’s wings and the “flock of Bozrah.” However, he ultimately rejects Bozrah as the likely place of protection because he connects Bozrah and Edom with judgment rather than refuge. He argues that the prophecies involving Edom describe punishment tied to Edom’s treatment of Israel, making Bozrah less likely as the protected location. Biblical Clues Pointing Away From Some Locations Dr. Thiel then lays out biblical clues about where the place of safety is not. He cites Jeremiah 4 and Luke 21 to argue that God’s people would not remain in Judea or Jerusalem and that they would need to flee when Jerusalem is surrounded. He also references Zechariah’s instruction to flee from the north and Revelation’s descriptions of island destruction, concluding that the place is not north of Jerusalem, not Babylon, not Judea, not Jerusalem, and not an island. This leads him toward a location generally southeast of Jerusalem. Rocks, Wilderness, Gathering, and a Jordanian Direction The episode continues by connecting Isaiah 33, Isaiah 45, Zephaniah 2, Psalm 27, and First Samuel 23 to the idea of a gathered group hidden in a rocky place. Dr. Thiel emphasizes that this is not merely individual protection wherever someone happens to be, but a gathering together at a specific place. He points to language about a fortress of rocks, being hidden during the day of the Lord’s anger, and David’s “rock of escape” as possible scriptural hints. For Dr. Thiel, these clues make a Jordanian wilderness location plausible, with Petra or an area near Petra remaining possible. Philadelphian Christians and the Promise of Revelation 3 Dr. Thiel concludes by returning to Revelation 3 and the promise made to the Philadelphian church. He argues that Jesus promises protection from the hour of trial only to the Philadelphians, not to all Christians. He then links this to Revelation 12, where the woman is given two wings of a great eagle and taken into the wilderness for “a time, times, and half a time,” which he interprets as three and a half years. The program ends with Dr. Thiel saying Petra remains a place to consider, though the actual place of protection may be nearby or somewhere else in the wilderness, followed by Steve Dupuie directing listeners to biblenewsprophecy.net and the Continuing Church of God resources.
