    Child support has somehow become one of the internet’s favorite gender wars, but how much of what we hear is actually true? This week on Love, Lies & Alibis, we’re putting the viral posts, Facebook law degrees, and tired “she just wants his money” arguments to the side and looking at the facts. What is child support actually for? What does it really cost to raise a child in 2026? Does 50/50 parenting automatically mean no child support? Can you stop paying if the other parent keeps your child from you? And if child support helps pay the rent, utilities, groceries, or transportation...is that really “misusing” the money? I’m also sharing my own experience receiving just $197 a month, breaking down what that amount actually covered, and discussing the reality that some parents receive even less or nothing at all. And because this conversation deserves nuance, we’re also talking about legitimate problems within the child-support system, parents who truly cannot afford their current orders, custodial fathers, mothers who owe support, and why custody, parenting time, and child support are separate issues. This isn’t men vs. women. It’s not custodial vs. noncustodial parents. It’s about one simple question: When two people create a child, why should the responsibility of financially supporting that child fall on only one of them?     Dating in 2026 already requires enough detective work, so why are we skipping straight past the safety precautions? On this episode of Love, Lies & Alibis, we’re talking about something that should be common sense but apparently still needs to be said: stop going to people’s houses when you barely know them. I don’t care how good the conversation has been, how fine they are, how long y’all have been texting, or how many FaceTimes you’ve had. You do not truly know somebody just because you’ve been talking for a few days or weeks. We’re getting into first-date safety, meeting in public, protecting your address, letting somebody know where you are, trusting your instincts, and why convenience should never come before your safety. Because Netflix and chill sounds real cute until you realize you are sitting in a stranger’s house with no idea who they really are. This isn’t about being paranoid. It’s about making smarter decisions while dating. Because around here, we investigate the red flags before somebody needs an alibi.
