Why God Won't Take It Away

WHY GOD WON’T TAKE IT AWAY | Process: I Didn’t Ask for This What happens when we’ve prayed about it... and it’s still there? In Day 3 of PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS, Minister Cyrus walks through Paul’s thorn in the flesh in 2 Corinthians 12:7–10. Paul prayed. Not once. Not twice. Three times he pleaded with the Lord to take it away. But God’s answer wasn’t removal. God said: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul was focused on the thorn. God pointed him toward grace. Paul was looking at what hadn't changed. God showed him what would sustain him. Sometimes we're so focused on what God hasn't taken away that we overlook what God has already given us. That doesn't mean God never changes situations. God heals. God delivers. God opens doors. And every painful situation should not automatically be labeled as something God sent. But Paul’s story reveals that sometimes an unchanged situation does not mean we have an absent God. Sometimes God changes the situation. And sometimes... God gives us grace to stand while we're still in it. Key takeaway:The miracle isn't always that God moved it. Sometimes the miracle is that it didn't move us away from God. Paul asked: “Take it away.” God answered: “My grace is sufficient.” And that's where the entire series comes together. Moses discovered: God is with us. Peter discovered: Jesus is praying for us. Paul discovered: His grace is sufficient for us. Different men. Different processes. Same faithful God. Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:7–10Series: PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THISDay 3: WHY GOD WON’T TAKE IT AWAY Brothers Strengthening Brothers We didn't ask for every part of this process. But if we surrender it to God... He won't waste it. Because when one brother gets stronger... We all rise together. Guiding Perspectives GPT is now a plugi

    Why I Folded

WHY I FOLDED | Process: I Didn’t Ask for This Have you ever been sure about what you would do—until the pressure showed up? In Day 2 of PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS, Minister Cyrus walks through Peter’s denial of Jesus in Luke 22 and his restoration in John 21. Peter was confident. He loved Jesus. He had walked on water, witnessed miracles, and boldly declared that he was ready to go with Jesus to prison and even to death. Then the pressure came. And Peter folded. But Peter’s failure didn’t reveal anything to Jesus that Jesus didn’t already know. Peter’s failure revealed Peter to Peter. Before the courtyard. Before the accusations. Before the three denials. Before the rooster ever crowed... Jesus had already told Peter: “I have prayed for you.” And even more powerful, Jesus was already speaking about Peter’s future: “When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Peter was going to fold. But folding wasn’t going to finish him. Sometimes the pressure in the process exposes things inside us that comfort allowed us to overlook—our pride, fear, insecurity, temper, need for control, or dependence on ourselves. But what God exposes does not have to define us. Key takeaway:God can correct what He already knew was in us without canceling what He placed on us. Peter folded, but Peter wasn’t finished. Jesus restored him, recommissioned him, and developed a man who would eventually strengthen others. Maybe the question isn't, “Who folded on me?” Maybe today we need to ask: “Father, what does pressure keep revealing in me?” Scripture: Luke 22:31–34, 54–62; John 21:15–17Series: PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THISDay 2: WHY I FOLDED Brothers Strengthening Brothers We may not have asked for this process—but if we surrender it to God, He won't waste it. Because when one brother gets stronger... We all rise together.

You Want Me To Go Back?

What happens when God calls us toward something we thought we left behind? In Day 1 of PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS, Minister Cyrus walks through the story of Moses in Exodus 2–3. Moses had been away from Egypt for decades. He had a wife, a family, a job, and a routine. Egypt was behind him—or at least Moses thought it was. Then God met him at a burning bush and said: Go back. Back to the place he ran from. Back to the place of his failure. Back where people knew what he did. But Moses wasn't going back as the same man—and more importantly, he wasn't going back alone. While Moses was tending sheep in Midian, God was developing something in him that his future assignment would require. What looked ordinary was becoming preparation. Key takeaway: Sometimes our current responsibility is training us for a future assignment we can't see yet. And when Moses asks, “Who am I?”, God doesn't build Moses' confidence in Moses. God says: “I will be with you.” Maybe the question isn't whether we're enough for where God is calling us. Maybe the revelation is that the God who calls us is the God who goes with us. Scripture: Exodus 2:11–15; 3:1–12 Series: PROCESS: I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS Day 1: YOU WANT ME TO GO BACK? Brothers Strengthening Brothers Real Men. Real Faith. Real Impact. We may not have asked for this process—but if we surrender it to God, He won't waste it. Because when one brother gets stronger... We all rise together.
